GTA V NG |OT| You forget a thousand things every day, make sure Chicago is one of 'em

found a small easy way to copy cars...

just park it in garage, get out, and save on foot nearby, and reload the game

the game will remember the car as both a 'Garage Car' and your 'Last Car' so it will spawn it as both

not a big deal and just SP only but it's a way to use a car that you usually try keep safe in a garage....

you've probably noticed a lot of story events force you to use your Personal Car so it can get annoying when you have to abandon a different car, and this could let you always use a certain car but always keep a back-up in your garage

e.g. something rarer like an Adder, a car you can only get once in the story (e.g. Madrazo Range Rover), maybe the Death Dukes, etc

How do I make something my personal car? Every time I put a new car in one of my safehouse garages it saves for a bit, but then I find the original personal cars outside my house later eventually anyways marked as my personal car on the map.

I love it, thx!

What would be the basic steps / techniques for doing a time lapse?

No casinos or gambling is pretty big fail in this game considering previous games had it.

Yes, it's a bummer things like casinos are missing. Lots of other features are missing from previous games as well - Pizza delivery, RC Planes missions, phone calls from your cousin etc.

But seeing all the things GTA V accomplishes I can't fault Rockstar for missing some of the earlier things the series had.

In single player you can't. You're stuck with each character's car. It's something I really wanted changed for this new version. Would have been nice for them to go all the way with the car ownership model from online, other than adding the icon to the mini map. Bored to tears of Franklin's ugly Buffalo.

Yeah me too.

I mean they are decent but I'd like to change cars from time to time.

You can mod the cars at any custom shop and the changes are saved; adds a little variety. Do the stock market glitch and money's no issue.

Yep, until you get caught in a sidequest or like yesterday when I answered the phone as Franklin and was put into a mission. If you don't return your car to the garage, it's gone. ANd there are so many reasons why you'd take it out and not bring it back. Oh, and if it is gone, don't forget to blow up every car you are in after so it doesn't get put into the impound lot and erase the one you wanted to keep.

Yep, changes are saved.... in a totally non meaningful way. If you just want a showroom those changes are saved. If you want to just take a car out to drive and put it right back and have to ignore any random events or not get caught in a mission just by answering the phone, your changes are saved.

I was referring to the stock character cars.

I like the DS4 light turning the exact same gold color for Trevor

DS4 light bar is turning into a cool feature I think. I like how it flashes when you are being hunted by the cops.

Right now I have the light set to low, did anyone know if it makes a big difference in battery life if I turn it up to high again?

I think we can all agree that Rockstar continually botches car ownership. Somehow, 360/PS3 GTA games took a step back from even GTA San Andreas. What's especially frustrating is how other games like Saints Row got it right from the start of last generation. At least in San Andreas, you could find a car and stash it in one of your garages for later, and if you had all of the properties around the map that was pretty easy to store up a bunch of unique cars.

Then GTAIV came out and completely obliterated car ownership. Just... totally trashed the idea by eliminating garages and randomly spawning a shitty car in front of your residence... which made no sense to me. GTAIV did car management worse than any open world driving game ever made, worse than San Andreas, Vice City, and GTAIII.

GTAV improved things from GTAIV but still not up to snuff with even the basic system that Saints Row #1 had in 2007. Even if I knew Rockstar's system I wouldn't trust it. Can someone answer, if I buy a fancy car on one of those websites, it gets delivered to my garage, right? If I take that car out for a mission and leave it somewhere, is the car then gone? When GTAV came out this was super glitched up and didn't work and there was a lot of misinformation, and then GTA Online introduced a mostly working model of car ownership (still not very good, still not as good as Saints Row #1 in 2007, but better).. And so I'm confused how GTAV SP handles it.

In SP i think the car will go to the impound under the police station in South-east LS. You can go and get it out then.

It's a couple of LEDs. They can't take up that much Battery life can they?

Am I the only one who's getting lag and sound stutter at the Rockstar logo screen? The game runs fine and the way it should do, it's just that little part. It's not really an issue, just curious as to why.

Just played it for the first time ever for the first two hours. What an amazingly strong opening, the first five missions are fantastic, the prologue especially so. The visuals are gorgeous, although you still get the classic flaws of an open-world game in there too (some pop-in, lower poly vehicles etc). I'm really glad I didn't play it on PS3, can't even imagine how pared back it would have been.

But man, what a game so far. Switching characters is awesome. The characters and dialogue are top-notch, too. I've laughed out loud multiple times at Lamar and Chop. It's amazing how few video games can genuinely make you laugh. I'm gonna savour this one.

Only issue so far is the stupid phone calls coming through the phone - I play with headphones in and can't hear the controller. I really hate the use of the controller speaker in most games. No need for it.

All 3 characters are pretty horrible. What draws the line with Trevor?

Since the game has been out a year I have already spoiled he end game choices
the truth is Trevor is probably the most honest about his shit he knows he is fucked up and does not pretend

Just saying role-playing as him is affecting me the most I guess

I just did the mission where the two Asian dudes toured Trevor's lab

having trouble finding what to do next just want to move the story forward to get back to playing as all 3

There is an option to not use the DS4 speaker.

And yes, the first ~10h of GTA5 are one of the greatest things in videogame history IMO.

Does Rockstar know about the deadzone-issue by now? I'm still using it but damn. Gunfights seem impossible even with the snappy free aim. Incoming damage is pretty high too. Did the
Dead Man Walking
mission and died like 10 times on it.
Once even with the slow-mo on.

I was playing around with the stick and figured that if you slowly move it to the side, it moves in a perfect horizontinal line, as it should. However, try offsetting that to the top or bottom a little bit, and the camera still only moves sideways. It's like the game is using 2 deadzones for X and Y axis.

This aiming could work for now if the game allowed me to move around a bit, so that I can help with the left stick movement, but once I leave cover for a few seconds I'm pretty much dead. This isn't good.

Mission timers run during cutscenes too. Whose idea was that?

I believe the next mission is back at Trevor's house, but if that hasn't popped up yet and you're looking for things to do, there's a "Stranger & Freak" called Maude pretty close to Trevor's house who will open up the bail bond system for you.

You will open up all three again shortly.

yep, this is the mission that I died repeatedly on... 6 times and I just said, fuck it, and for that mission switched to auto aim. The mission was the worst one so far for Rockstar's aiming/shooting mechanics. It's a mix of a horribly shitty gun that does very little damage, the need for pinpoint accuracy, and bad guys who run at you and have perfect accuracy as soon as they come out. That one guy who
comes from the double doors with a submachine gun
and he would hit me with 4 or 5 bullets and take me down immediately. That was one of my most frustrating missions when I just said "fuck it" used assisted aim and finished it.

Yeah, just make sure to blow up any car you use along the way in case it gets impounded and overrides the one that is already in there.

It's not a good system and it's almost useless for keeping cars. Let's not pretend it is not only barely better than not having one at all.

I was referring to the stock character cars.

Except what you responded to was some one who was sick of the buffalo. A modded Buffalo is still a Buffalo. And what if you flat out don't even like the stock character car (I don't like any of them. The Buffalo and Obey are at least just boring and even with mods they're just a boring sedan underneath... and worse, one is a Chrysler *ick*, I flat out hate Trevor's vehicle).

How come the trees don't sway in the wind like last gen?
The trees are completely static on ps4?

Pretty big step back :(
