Next-Gen GTA V is Another Rockstar Disappointment

GTA V has finally released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S after being delayed by a few months, and after a late night and a very early morning exploring Los Santos for the third time on consoles, I'm left wondering why the game was even delayed.

Had a scan over it. They love the 60FPS but they wondering why it took a while new client download and why the older version couldn't just be unlocked frame rate instead of what was given.

that's the whole feel behind the console graphics modes.
If you can't do it without other mode looking like shit, don't do it. Focus on one proper mode.
There only difference in tis case could just be resolution. With ok reconstruction, resolution can be the only difference between 30 and 60fps modes.
Nobody wants to see all the graphical effects in 30fps mode and then game looking worse in 60fps.
If it was just lower res than fidelity mode, it would be so much easier to accept and a fair trade for 60fps

OP info says "up to 60 fps", which is a warning sign to me as its not steady 60 fps.

Yeah, last time I played it was the PS4 rerelease, so almost 8 years ago, and playing it again now almost feels fresh despite having an overall idea of where the plot is going. It still holds up ridiculously well against other open world games.

While I think RDR2 is probably the better open world in terms of detail, this has just a more fun tongue-in-cheek attitude that can keep a smile plastered to my face in a way RDR2 just can't since it's considerably more straight faced in terms of it's characters and plot (not that that's bad, it's just takes a different tone and is more 'drama' than 'fun')

Yeah RDR2 is better. But its kinda sad that GTA5 feels and plays as good or better then other modern games.
Just goes to show innovation and improvements have been pretty stagnant in the open world genre.

There's no upgrade path, buying wise. You're basically buying it fresh for $10.

Me too, fuck it. It's a masterpiece no matter what people say. Sure the controls are dated and always annoying, but the level of detail in this game for the age of it is astounding.

I just want to cycle up mount chilliad and go jet skiiing really.

How glitched is this god damn trophy/achievement!?

I completed the game and bought the taxi company as Franklin. No introductory phone call from Raul. As such, no mission can occur (you should randomly get a call asking to help with a fare).

I look online. 'Buy the towing company and you automatically get a mission from one of your companies' is the common fix. I've reloaded 20 times, the only call I get after buying the towing company is from Smoke on the Water (because the taxi company haven't even touched base with me yet).

I've slept in game for weeks. I've blown myself up 50 times with a grenade.

I've restarted the game, done the first heist, brought Trevor to Los Santos, and bought the taxi company again. AND AGAIN, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I RELOAD THE SAVE AND BUY THE COMPANY NO INITIAL PHONE CALL WITH RAUL TAKES PLACE. This phone call should happen practically as soon as you buy the company.

I'm at a complete loss. How R* have allowed this to go unpatched when it is all over message boards from the initial release on PS3/360 to present day, I'm astounded.

I'm on Steam.

Anyone else able to help me?
