At present our server team are working on the underlying problems that are causing login issues, thank you for your continued patience ^AT

Sounds like they're working on fixing the problems so it won't happen again.

I got none of the names I wanted. Ended up thinking for a minute and went with "Calm Waters" for my Norn. Snagged "Calm Water" too just so I'm a unique snowflake.

No one wants a throne you've been sitting on!
If I had more character slots Id go make one of those gremlin looking guys, make him an engineer and name him "Pear Shaped" lol

someone took (probably had reserved from GW1) Tobias Fünke :(

I really wanted to make a bald blue sylvari and get him glasses from the gem shop, and find something that looks like cutoffs and find the rest of my dysfunctional family :(

Created a Norn Warrior with the intention of calling him "Jet Black" but it was already taken, so I settled on "Jet Spike"...it'll do, at least until my creative juices actually start flowing and I roll another toon.

So, people who have played this game, can I get some testimonials about if Dynamic Events are as good as they sound or if the game is going to get dull fast with infinite quests involving washing off buildings or killing X of Y?

Their gonna make me fix breakfast aren't they? I had no intention of fixing breakfast today but now I have no choice, see what you have done ArenaNet!*shakes fist*

It works and the world feels alive because of them. However, the consequence of that is that there is going to be time (or at least there was for me) of aimless wandering and exploration waiting to stumble upon one. Really had a fun time, though.

It starts simple. A lot of it is killing/escorting etc. Its fun. But i do think it will get more complex as the levels get higher

For those who were able to acquire names:

What'd ya get?

I got a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference for my asura character that I was hoping for. I was tempted to try making a Norn with Zangief hair and naming him The Red Cyclone, but I figured someone had to have that reserved from Guild Wars 1.

Having played the stresstests. The dynamic events are pretty fun. You don't have to grab quests and in certain areas of the map there is always action because of the events. You can just join in and help. It's really intuitive and fresh.

That's weird as hell. I included a .ini file that should load the controller configuration and game profile automatically. Can you check if it's there? It should be called Xpadder.ini and have a section that includes a line like:

Controller1File=Xbox 360 Controller.xpaddercontroller

In any case, try opening the controller profile manually using the leftmost small icon, after activating your controller. The controller file and the game profile are separate files, and I'm thinking that you're going to have to load both (the game profile is loaded via the middle icon that looks like a page with text).

Do report how it goes, please! :)
Okay I set the profiles up manually and that seemed to work fine. Basically I think Xpadder was detecting my 360 controller, but not setting it up properly.

So I downloaded a controller image from the site and used that, then had to configure the sticks, buttons and triggers. Once that was done though it was as simple as just double clicking the four profiles, saving everything and closing both programs. Now when I double click the start.bat file, it loads up with the four profiles and auto-maps the buttons etc.

Thanks for the help and for the setup and controller profiles :)
