It's Komali that screws us, and he shows up every time.
We actually got very lucky with our last T3 and did not roll Komali, Sotzz, 2-MULT, or Prisoner this past Saturday.
I personally like the pre-scouting method because a) it's the only strategy I've seen work with T3 and b) I'm doing something while waiting for others to join the mission.
The first two T3s heavily involved pre-scouting and didn't even require instruction from officers; I think each of us were thinking the exact same thing:
Oh shit we have to defeat six of them now, better scout them out first. I remember hearing on Mumble a few people stating which area they were scouting a half hour before official start time. We took the initiative.
The ones that do not need or cannot be scouted IMO are Poobadoo/Trilla (really short paths) and Sotzz/Mayani (disappear after a short while if not activated soon enough). Moreover, both Poobadoo and Trilla can be easily defeated, which makes the manpower to pre-scout them less valuable.
I think by now, some guild members have become more "specialized" in looking for certain targets. I now have my own strategy for Mayani that starts at the NW waypoint then work my way toward the middle, where there are 5 suspicious trees all clumped together. That has helped me find her twice now in hunts. For the Diplomat in Brisban Wildlands I have memorized his northwestern path. But I have never, ever even seen a single suspicious barrel in Gendarran Fields, much less find that guy. We probably have a few specialists for Sotzz and maybe other targets in our guild by now, too.
No one's gonna wanna do a t3 tomorrow, Guild Missions? Old hat! New shiny shit oh baby new dungeon!
Agreed, tomorrow's all about the new dungeon, a dungeon that Anet claims will take longer to complete than a typical GAF Arah 3 run.
