Guild Wars 2 |OT2| Funding An MMO Entirely On Quaggan Backpacks

Got back on for the first time in a while! Got the CoF chestplate. It's on fire guys. I love the armor designs in this game.

Alas, I've also made a commitment to working out recently, so I need to go do that before I get back on and waste the night away.

I haven't played this game in a long while. Figured I would jump on and check things out. Cursed Shore seems to be pretty dead, I used to farm the defend/escorts quests. Is there a new place everyone migrated to, or just not a thing anymore?

I'm on Stormbluff Isle.

Do world events. Cursed Shore farming is very hard now due to a new scaling tech so no one does it. Also, everyone is in Southsun Cove due to the Living Story.

Subdirector NULL is goddamn annoying. Any tips?
Quite easy once you're in a group where everyone knows the encounter.

Continuously convert mines- they come up fast, you have to wait for them to turn red, but you'll get it. Any mine takes off his shield. Go HAM with the DPS when he has his shield down.

People like to stack on the first poison mine or kite him between the two first poison mines. These are viable strategies but if you don't convert the poison mine on time every time it'll hit you too and there's really no wrong way to kill him.

The Rampant Energy is by FAR the toughest aspect of the fight.

New (temporary) hotness = Southsun Cove, check it out. There is a 200% Magic Find or Gold Find buff available (talk to a settler or consortium rep).

Orr temple event are still quite lucrative, but other farming in Orr (at least for the moment) is very much not. Luckily, you've been gone for so long you probably don't know how the new world events work- www.gw2stuff.com -> guaranteed rares once a day from each of these events, and there's always somethin' going on.

Um. I don't know why I feel inclined to mention this but you should do the Forsaken Halls too.
Controller + Stationary Bike = Everyone wins! Stay fit and get mad loot
That reminds me, what model pedaler were you using in that one video? Looked like it had a seat.

I didn't get a chance to ZERK at all today! Too much to do!

I suppose running 5 of even the quickest dungeons fills the evening pretty fast.

Dropped 300 swords into the forge and got nothing.

Fuck this game.

I absolutely loved it until this point. For all the crazy amounts of time invested into the game, that is a big middle finger to people who support the game.

Fuck you ArenaNet.

I'm not making light of your loss, but it's called the Mystic Toilet for a reason. Because most of the time, when you put items in there, you get shit in your inventory.

Hope you come back to it at a later date, but yeah... that sucks pretty hard. The RNGods were not with you tonight.

I might. I am just so pissed and demoralized at the system in place i dont even want to see the game. Maybe i will finally get to my backlog i have been neglecting since the release of this game.

Someone else dumped a lot of money into the forge today too. If I lost 200g into the toilet I could definitely see swearing off the game for awhile. Luckily I swore off the mf at about 30g.

The scavenger hunt, precursor quest, whatever you want to call it, can't come soon enough.

The Cryptarch's Bane
There's an extent to which attempting to get "the thing" (one assumes you're looking for a precursor) in that manner is just begging for disappointment and rage. The gambler's fallacy is going to involuntarily take hold at some point no matter how rationally you approach the Forge. Granted I can totally sympathize and understand wanting to quit the game a while after experiencing it, for sure.

I will say I'm a little put off by the implication that if you'd just gotten what you wanted, it'd have been any less of a "Fuck You ArenaNet" moment, or any more or less of a middle finger to the game's supporters. I mean, random is random.

My condolences. No player should have to endure this.

But you have to admit. Even if this system is outragous, you have to admit the power of the legendary weapons.

Awesome designed fantasy weapons by themselves, they are so much more amazing when you know what took people to get them. Plus the drama. The drama that follows. The rage, the envy, everyone reacts differently.

I offscribed myself the chance of ever getting Sunrise, when I was less than 10% into it. Just trying to get the 250 bits of mats, and all the Ori. I was already done at that point. There is no way, that I will ever have the discipline.

Fortunately, I found great strides in other areas. After Warrior 100% completion I discovered the 125G Tier-3 racial armor, which took me a long time. I hope they will ad this sub-legendary tier weapon.

Something that requires 1/3 the effort, and another tier that requires 2/3 the effort. depending then on where your you are, you have a goal, at least halfway away from this.

Making money in Guild Wars 2 is more worthwhile than in any MMO I've played. The inflation is controlled, and with the gem system every silver I use, I think about. "do I really need to waypoint here?" do I salvage or do I sell for 1,5 silver? No other game has made me care about pocket change.

I also know that a lot of my currency, in the system is worthwhile because these guys keep adding different new awesome looking items. Backpieces are turning into the new thing. It's this alternative show off. The flower makes your character look organic and spiritful, the tentacles make you look evil, sinister and a fan of Grenth. The scholar books make you look like a fan of the MAD King or a priory fanatic. The guild backpack(my choice!) makes you look like a true adventurer.

This game's a lot less frustrating when you don't try for Legendaries. It's a shame there's so much luck involved in getting them, but I guess that's why they're legendary.

Thought at this point we all knew not to gamble with the mystic toilet anymore.

I just throw in random yellows I find and souldbound exotics, but I don't buy them off TP for it.

Too right. There are some I would kinda like, but not enough to farm for or do any intense effort beyond just playing normally. If I get a precursor randomly, cool. If not, whatever!

Unicorn bow would be kinda neat on my thief. Might actually use shortbow then!

Thanks. Problem is, we're two that have condition damage builds, and he seems immune to it. Only one person does good damage.

Yeah, Rampant Energy is extremely annoying. Will try the poison mine.

The only thing people should use the Mystic Forge for is to put in Level 70+ greens in hopes of getting Rare so that you can salvage the rare's for Ectos. Save the ectos until you have you mystic clovers and 250 ectos then any new ones, start selling and making gold so you can buy your precursor.

Also when you salvage a rare, usually you get a major rune or sigil, 4 majors put into the Mystic Forge can sometime net you a very expensive superior which will make you more rich and get you close to buying that precursor.

That's not Chasecs, is it....?

Oh, it might not be. In which case I feel bad for him :p

Anyone who knows that anet is planning the precursor scavenger hunt (and is intending for it to come out this year sometime) and still flushes down the mystic toilet is just asking for a bad time.

I just bought my precursor for 30g when they were all crazy cheap.

Dat nutso one-time karka event.
Yes that event gave me the rifle and mace precursors which allowed me to buy pistol precursor and most of the t6 items that I needed to craft it.

Hope this new kraka queen meta event is at least half as profitable.

How was everything so cheap then? More and more it seems like the way to go for Legendary is to just grind the heck out of gold and buy everything. Which means an absurd amount of CoF runs I guess. I'll have to look up the best/fastest ways to build up Gold again.

Yep, i am not Chasecs.

I figured the odds could not have been THAT bad, so i went and gave it a try. I have never been that infuriated before.

It is going to be a LONG trek to get 700G for my precursor, i cant even fathom making that much money. I might just stick to exotics.

Maybe I can join the GAF guild as well. Need to do more events and other things.

Trying for legendaries and not being in GAF Guild? How are you still playing this game?!

No wonder you're frustrated. Come to GAF. We'll make you have fun. Or else...

Haha!

I assume you're kidding, right? It's a permanent event, it cannot possibly be close to half as profitable.

Getting it primarily through COF runs might well be the fastest and have the least effort but it's got to be the most boring (and most likely to cause me to give up on the game, personally :p). Here are some of my ways to make gold. Merely running around Southsun doing stuff right now, with either of the zone buffs, is quite profitable as well.

Note, nowhere close to everything you need for a legendary is purchasable with gold. I would however recommend it as the most viable way to get a precursor.

I hate the fact that CoF path 1 is so profitable because I'm trying to get CoF armor and that's all anyone runs, limiting the amount of tokens I can get a day.

Feels Bad Man

So I got the game downloaded, and I accept the user agreement and the game starts up, but then instantly crashes.. and I have no idea why. If it helps, here is what pops up:

Thread is moving so fast - can anyone give me a link to a "what's in the newest update" post?

Hey, I have been out of the loop for a bit (Medical problems + laziness ).

Can someone tell me what this kraka queen event is all about and how you can do it?

Is it like a world dragon event? Heard you can only do it once a day :/

try running a repair.

Locate your Gw2.exe file.
Right-click on the file and select Create shortcut.
Rename this new shortcut to Guild Wars 2 Repair.
Right-click on Guild Wars 2 Repair and select Properties.
Locate the Target line and add -repair to the end.
Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\gw2.exe” -repair
Click OK.

Wrong guy lol. I'm chase.

And yeah, I threw 200g in the forge for nothing, but I'm not even mad. That was like...less than 1/3 of my total gold, and I don't even care about having a legendary weapon anyways.

And Kaioshade, I know you're mad dude but seriously, how is it Anet's fault that you threw all your gold into the forge? That's entirely on you.

Everything was so cheap because the chest at the end of the Karka event had a very high chance of dropping a precursor. A lot of people got there's from buying at the prices they were being sold at, I know I should have though in retrospect it would have been the one I know longer want. The fastest way at the moment is probably farm Skelks in Southsun due to the insanely high MF settler bonus.
