For all of you going into G Gundam.

Know that going into it is a SUPER ROBOT show, not a REAL ROBOT show like traditional UC Gundam. I don't even think G Gundam is a good starting point for Gundam at all. Go in G Gundam after a couple series under your belt.

Go in expecting REAL ROBO, you're gonna end up hating it like some of the fanbase.

Go in expecting SUPER ROBO, you'll enjoy it no matter how much of a shitty Street Fighter tournament rip off it is.

For such shows I think budget really has very little to do with consistently for TV animation. The bigger question is the production schedule. Let's just hope the planning is more like the original Build Fighters than Try.

Unicorn is an adaptation. Gundam Unicorn's original ending was even dumber than the one in the show, it was changed for the better. Everyone was dreading a faithful adaptation, it's merely 'bleh' instead of 'godawful' now.

I'm willing to give this a chance and not go in with any preconceived biases because of director/writer, but if it turns out bad, at least I'll be enjoying my watch of Victory on the side.

Already not a huge fan of the Barbatos design though.

Just a note, take G Gundam as serious as it comes across it's definitely different than the rest of the franchise but that's why so many people love it. It's a fun place to start for sure though.

Really hoping someone gets bashed in the face by that mace/lance thing. Probably my favorite looking weapon in a Gundam... in forever.
