SPOILER: Godzilla is the Nineteenth Angel

Mecha Godzilla is Eva Unit 5.

I wonder if Shinji will bukkake again in this final part of Eva.

Waiting for Mitsuishi to be added back to the Gundam cast (。◕ฺˇε ˇ◕ฺ。)

I still hate the Shinji and Asuka ship, give me Shinji and Rei anytime over that nonsense. At lease Rei and Shinji respected each other. Shinji and Asuka were both too damn confused and fucked up to make that relationship work.

That was the beauty of their relationship. How confused and unsure they were. Not every relationship needs to be shown as a perfectly functional by the books one.

Shinji and Mari tho.

But Rei is Shinji's mom.

Misato still da bes, even at 43 years old.

Edit: Do we have an Evangelion Community Thread? Should one be made?

Oh believe me when I say I know that spoiler and still prefer that over Asuka and Shinji. Rei actually can be sweet. Asuka was so confused and annoying that she was pining for Kaji, an older man that wanted nothing to do with her in that way. Asuka and Shinji just seemed abusive towards each other.

Shinji and Rei isn't actually by the books either. They just displayed an ability to actually deal with each other and grow in a manner that Shinji and Asuka couldn't.

They're codependent.

They're codependent.
I'm not even sure if that's a good thing with these two unless I'm remembering their relationship wrong. Rei allowed for Shinji to care about someone and she gave back in her own subtle ways. Asuka on the other hand just treated him like how his father treated him minus telling him to get in the fucking robot.

Gundam Unicorn was a better martial arts show than G Gundam. Banagher confirm to be Wing Chun Master, better than Domon.

Better transformation sequences too.

I was a huge fan of Gundam Wing back when it aired on Cartoon Network but I wouldn't really consider myself a Gundam fan since I really don't recall much of that show. After I heard about this getting announced a few months back I gave Unicorn a chance and it wasn't very good, I gave up after 4-5 episodes.

I'm still giving this one a chance, hopefully it's a lot better than Unicorn.

Is Unicorn loved by the fan base or do people generally dislike it?

I think Unicorn is mostly loved for two things: its excellent animation and its fanservice for long-time fans of the Universal Century Gundam canon. Half of what goes on in Gundam Unicorn are references to Gundam 0079, Zeta Gundam, and ZZ Gundam. It isn't the best place to jump into UC Gundam. It is designed to be a big epilogue for/loveletter to UC Gundam as a whole. I'm not surprised it is unapproachable for someone who hasn't watched three other full-length TV series and a few movies all made in the 80s.

I would suggest giving this new series a shot. At this point, no one really knows if it will be good or not, but you'll be going into it on the same level as everyone else.

Did they give any reason why the protag is wearing XXL adult clothes when he's just a child?

Because he's poor, and can't afford better fitting clothes? I mean, the title is iron blooded ORPHANS for crying out loud. Wouldn't surprise me if his clothes were something he scavenged from the trash or something

Yeah, but everyone else is wearing fitting clothes. Even Peter.

Hand-me-down clothes.

So from someone he respected or something?

...but I'm not a jerk and I hardly ever use the term....

Guilty by association.

You should watch G Gundam.

You should watch Gundam X and Turn A.

Go watch Turn A

I'll give another recommendation for Turn A, which pays homage to the Universal Century shows in an interesting way. It's slow-paced, but it's got great characters and a unique feel with the 19th century America-esque setting. Also, Yoko Kanno's soundtrack is amazing.

Listen to this mang. G Gundam > UC Gundam TV shows.

Damn I never noticed all these recommendations, thanks. I certainly plan on looking into G Gundam and Turn A at some point in the future. I am currently making my way through a bunch of classic mecha anime (currently on macross), but I will certainly get back to these shows.

OG Macross is great, minus all that Minmei shit with her cousin it's one of my faves.

Yeah I would agree with you Kaifun is the only thing in the show I dislike. aside from occasional dips in animation quality its a fantastic show so far, I just have episodes left.
It's still a pretty decently handled love triangle too. Still done better than a lot of recent gundam romances.
