Well, as shitty as the quality of the video stream itself was, at least you could see the pixelated screen in all of it's glory, unlike AGL.

To be honest, I think they were worrying about the production quality of the Finals, and they didn't really gave a shit about what came before that.

I've heard from a lot of sources that the stage looks great, and I'm sure that tomorrow will look much better, but that doesn't help the fact that the first 2 days sucked ass, and the next time they do a tournament* they give this some thought. It was worse than some of the early AGL tournaments.

*Hoping that they do another big-money tournament.

Yeah LAG 101 with also the book on Worst Possible Video Capture Device to Stream.

We are working out all of our bugs :(... We need a better Internet connection. Here in Idaho I think the fastest speed we got is 50mps at the LAN it was little over 20 I think?

Sounds more like you need a better computer. Unless you're referring to your download speed, which means exactly nothing when streaming. For 720p you need at least 1.5 Mbps upload. 1.0 for 480p.

That could be it. But everything runs smooth at my end. I have 6gb of Ram. Running one task. How hard could that be?

Processor? Matters more than RAM in this case. And what are you using to capture (just curious)?

Also, if you're using XSplit, it should tell you how many frames you're dropping because you don't have the bandwidth.

Post a speedtest result. May just need to adjust your bitrate and resolution.

Try OBS too if you aren't. I've had best results with OBS everything else has been more taxing on my system with less results.

You really cant, I could never stream 480p when I was on Time Warners 1MB upload. At 30fps and 480p you just don't have the bandwidth to transfer all the needed data, its gets choppy and blocky.

You can keep trying but its gonna drop frames and be choppy and never look good.

Basically you can, but you can't. If you get what I'm saying.

Sounds like a problem with you or Time Warner (probably TW, they're basically terrible). I had 1 MB and streamed 480p on that for like a year before my shit got upgraded. Trust me.

Its just not really enough to send 30 frames of 480 quality video. Thats gonna be more than 650k of data. He just wont be able to.

Its just simple math and computer.

My current stream settings with no dropped frames: 1280x720 @30fps. Uses 1500kbps.

1280x720 = 920k
640x480 = 307k
854x480 = 409k

Even if you go with widescreen, 480p only uses 44% of the pixels per frame of 720p. This is 667kbps AT THE MOST. He has 800kbps and it's a LAN so they can use all of the bandwidth for streaming, so he can use that setting and 96k audio and have a decent 480p stream.

It's just simple math and computers, man. Like I said, I fuckin' did it for a fuckin' year.

Now kindly shut the fuck up.

I dunno the taxing of the whole connection just from streaming.

I see disconnects. Also if you stream at 1500 kbps thats bad. 2500 or higher son.

Depends on where you live. There most definitely were not enough content servers for certain regions, mine (and apparently his) included. Mine wouldn't even load the stream. I had to watch it on twitch.

You could, but assuming your connection speed fluctuates like most cable connections, 720p with audio might be pushing it. If you plan on playing multiplayer, definitely only go 480p.

Shweet, if I could stream offline/SP stuff at 720p it would be boss. Dark Souls streaming incoming whenever I get a good capture card!
