The reviews are telling me it's paced well and has a good variety of activity in it, as well as a compelling story. And that's all I care about after being disappointed by the campaigns in number 2 and 3.

Polygon said it took them 11 hours on Heroic, Destructoid said it took them 7-8 hours on Normal.
Not to mention my personal favorite. Waiting for some asshat to go grab another beer and let the dog take a piss while we wait for him to start the match.
But yes Bungie's legacy will certainly include the history of matchmaking but 343i has their shit together.

Sure, but those elements to me IMO wouldn't ultimately alter the review score in any sort of damning fashion, like in a analog sense. Example, they sent me a sweet press kit +.5 points, I don't think this happens.

The same game in a genre defining series isn't too shabby. Collectively, the reviews (and many others) note that the graphical quality and cinematic presentation of the campaign has, indeed, improved.

This is my experience with halo 4,corridor levels,psche..not bad,yeah etc etc open levels,oh my good look at the size of that thing wow.

They did, but something got lost in translation there in the last sentence you quoted. They said if you didn't much care for the previous installments, you won't care for this one either. Other than that it's a solid experience.

Sure because i don't buy that hype same as i didn't give in for Halo 3 hype or Uncharted hype or GTA hype. Any game that is sequel and gets something like 9,5/10 screams" i'm shady ! don't trust me. And after all those hyped games GTA Halo Oblivion Skyrim and more only two or three, were even worth more than 8.
Eurogamer and RPS are main sources of proper reviews which i generally agree ? I don't trust most of sites anymore. Sure Eurogamer reviewers can sometimes miss with scores but if you compare with other sites it's just so different.

Eurogamer hasn't been an authority in game reviewing for quite a while, at least as far as I'm concerned. A lot of people who used to make that place great left or their influence isn't as apparent anymore.
Anyway, those are some great reviews. I just started playing Halo 3 the other day so I should be ready for this one come Christmas.

If that's the case, then it must be pretty lonely on the A-tier. I mean, even at their lowest, Bungie's Halo games play beautifully and are nicely put together. I was sorely disappointed in Halo 2 as it dropped some things I personally found important, but it was still a remarkable shooter.

I'm usually the first one to rip on critics (I don't like their nature) but this is a weird argument. A sequel is a chance to make something better, why would a high score be "shady?" There have definitely been some, uh, weird scoring phenomena, but it's hardly a given that this is the case.
I'm starting to feel like I'm the reasonable one, and that can't be good.

Was always the weakest aspect.
The big open levels are the best for a reason. I wish Halo was all that. Anything that wasn't a big open space with the option of vehicle combat etc was poorly designed.

It was one of my favourite aspects in Halo: CE. Many people critisize it for the backtracking and reused levels. I actually loved that. You roam around the levels not knowing wtf is up, find out wtf is up, then you have to go back but not with much more tension because you know wtf is up.

I thought Halo CE had great levels because they didn't actually feel like levels. Maybe the library did, it felt like an odd old structure, but generally... you'd pummel through those environments like they were battlefields. The ring being above you at all times really helped, which of course made the world-hopping of the sequels less interesting.
Embarrassingly enough, I didn't actually realize I was backtracking through AOTCR until at the very end of the level. Too busy fighting, and switching up the lighting worked.

We? Co-op? Totally different pace, in my experience. I've heard from a friend that it took him 9 on normal. Expecting 10/11 Heroic to be about right (for my particular skill level).
