I'm glad you get an assist medal in-game and they show assists on the scoreboard. It sounds stupid but in other Halo games I'd annoyed when people 'stole' my kills. In this game I don't care at all. Assists almost feel likes kills to me. I had a game where I went 3-10 with 14 assists and felt like I had a great game.
It's also useful info. Like saying "ok you can stop shooting at that guy". Same for Distraction because it lets you know they guy attacking you got killed. Avenger/protector, meh

Yea, I'll never get the hate for Distraction, it provides useful information to you, why complain? heh
 
So we have seen 6 maps so far (4 slayer and 2 Breakout) so there is only one other map left? Any idea what it is?

And is it all slayer gametypes or do we also get some objective game types in the last week?

Also not sold on Remixed maps when it comes to the final game (breakout maps I am assuming are forge made or something) map tally. It really would be shitty if we get 6-7 slayer maps and we know 2 of them are remixes already.

Exactly. Super useful. Avenger/protector are more fun little information tidbits. But still cool. At first I didn't like the whole medal overload. Especially with H4, hated it. But somehow it's nicely done in H5.
 
Damn! I was hoping for some CTF (could have used some reassurance after the abomination of the CTF gametype in Halo 4) but that will do too.

Committed carrier experience or whatever they were calling it still makes me mad.

I didn't like that in Halo 4 either. The Pistol just could not compete against a BR or DMR. And sometimes you just need to drop the flag or pass it off to team mate that has a better position or is closer to the flag (something you just could not do in Halo 4).
 
Can we all agree that the energy sword is majorly OP?

No, I don't think so. The Prophets Bane could have a longer respawn time perhaps but if you're communicating with your team even it shouldn't be that bad. I think as Power Weapons they're both fine. I love having Power Weapons back on the map. I would think the Hydra needs a buff though no one seems to go for it anymore.


I wish 343 would test regular old Capture the Flag over some new mode given how controversial it was in Halo 4.

I would love to play some CTF. I hope they don't muck it up this go around. I would also like some neutral bomb in BTB.

Yeah, I don't mind at all if my teammates finish a kill for me. In the end, the enemy was eliminated, and we have a better chance at getting the win. I don't care about getting a high kill count if it comes at the expense of us losing.

Not really, I've won several close ranged bouts with Sword wielders. Something that really never happened in prior Halos.
Hell, I've even melee-ed people with Swords to death. Gotta use you movement skills.

Territories is an awful version of Domination/3 plots, hence why I don't think it will be Territories, lol.

The fact that movement is an even bigger part in this game is something I'm really digging. Just adds another layer of strategy/skill and interaction in combat scenarios. Also, I have to agree on the sword not really being OP. With the right movement you can put down a sword player with a few headshots. Timing those side or back thrusters right goes a long way.
 
BR starts are doing wonders for my rank progression. started at the very low end of onyx I, now well on my way to onyx III. semi-pro by beta end?

Look at my avatar. Perhaps if they removed motion tracker, these players would stop chasing red dots in frustration of going so negative in a match. Maybe they'll start thinking about their movement more, planning out their attacks instead of running around aimlessly until they see those red dots to kill kill kill!

Also, no motion tracker allows you to be more effective as an individual player and be more effective for your team, possibly even carrying them since the enemy can't track your every move.

I was more talking about what could I do as a teammate to help my fellow teammates play better for that round so my chances of winning could increase.

Sorry. I probably wasn't clear in expressing the above. The suggestion you are speaking of might fit more under what a developer could do to improve the play of randoms.
 
You gotta give it more of a chance than that. I don't think I had a positive K/D until game 4 or 5.

I went 7 and 3 my first game, my second game I went about even. It's not that I think it's a bad game type it's just that it sucks for an Australian playing against Americans because half our shots don't register in a game type with lower kill times.

Really enjoying H5 (surprisingly). I feel like the game would be so much better if sprint were taken out, faster base movement with new smaller maps designed for no sprint. I don't have any major problems with the game apart from sprint.

Ok, that's fair. Just from your post it sounded like you played 2 games and dismissed it entirely based on TTK. Connection issues can definitely be frustrating, sorry to hear that.

Yeah it's very hit and miss. I'm playing it now and it has been really good but I was playing slayer before and it was shocking.
