I bucking agree with this.Fucking never change though HaloGAF. About 8 pages of mostly moaning about what is ultimately an advert which is irrelevant once the game launches. And yet I've seen about five posts on the fact that Theatre hasn't improved in five years sans Campaign rewinding. Dem priorities.
AT the end of this FUD episode,where that human corpses falling through the glass?
I loved the trailer because it seemed like I was one of the few that got it - I admit I was expecting an epic-feeling trailer like those in the past, but this trailer's goal wasn't about that at all. Which is why I don't get people's comments saying that it failed at that when it was clear to me that it wasn't even trying to do that. It didn't try it music-wise, and it didn't try to do it story-wise.
The YouTube trailer description shows how condensed it was on purpose:
"Watch the official Halo 4 Launch Trailer, Scanned. Master Chief's mind is violated by a powerful new enemy, who in searching for Chief's weaknesses, finds the source of his strength."
It was about the Chief's most significant moments being found through scanning in a search which shows why he's that strong. Chief only, no huge war focusing on him storming an army, just a 1 on 1 with his captor, and a great ambush scene.
You didn't have to read all the original Halo stories to get the things that the trailer visualized, all you had to do was pay close attention and watch it more than once. Loved it.
I'm gonna guess that the gameplay trailer will deliver the epic stuff we want, but I'm sure I won't watch it till I beat the game, like I've done since the Halo 2 one.
Shall I post a thread on gaming side?
I bucking agree with this.
Probably already touched upon, but I found it absolutely fantastic that early yesterday we were talking about that classic piece of Halo art with a crew surrounding and working on the chief's suit, and later on the day we got to see it realized in beautiful live action.
agreed, fantastic fanservice.
that gives me hope for the halo film (if it ever comes out).
hell: when halo 5 comes out, we will get a full blown 2 hour movie directed by nolan and thats just for the marketing (like fud)
lmao noIs that Dax beside him?
We have no ETA on the gameplay trailer.Do we have an ETA on the gameplay trailer David was teasing?
I wish 343 would stop acting like the AR matters. Otherwise, I liked the pieces of John's past. All in all the trailer was good but not on the level of the others.
Name a good video game movie:/
(FuD doesnt count, or does it?)
I wish the fanbase would stop acting like the AR's balancing in multiplayer is canon.I wish 343 would stop acting like the AR matters. Otherwise, I liked the pieces of John's past. All in all the trailer was good but not on the level of the others.

FUD = great
Trailer = solid
What if John turns out to be the ancient evil and the scan process (from the trailer) is what awakens that part of his psyche?

No.
How is this relevant to anything at all?
Today's gaf brought to you by the phrase "holy shit" and viewers like you.
Tor Books, publisher of many... well, books, has announced a delay to Halo: Silentium. The book is the last and final novel in Greg Bears Forerunners cycle of the Halo series.
The book was originally planned for release in January 2013, but has since slipped its date to March 2013 alongside both audio and e-book editions.
Previous entries in the series include Halo: Cryptum and Halo: Primordium, both of which are presently available in digital and physical formats. The stories tell of the end of the Forerunners and is designed to fill in the canon explored by Master Chief and his cohorts in the upcoming Halo 4 videogame by 343 Industries.
Halo 4 is set for release on November 6 and is exclusive to the Xbox 360.
