Also, trying to watch the trailer on the xbox was a big disappointment so many interrupting loading screens. UGGH

I mean, jesus christ how many times have we seen these hench, bald teenagers go through the augmentation process? "Oh, b-but it shows they're human on the inside, and they've all been through terrible thi-" NOBODY CARES FOR FUCK SAKE.

And seriously? Stretching the entirety of the Master Chief's life over the course of two minutes? It was stretched wayyyyyyyyy too thin, the overall trailer was scatty and absolutely lacked focus and a clear message. I'd even go as far ahead to say that your average Gary down the pub would find it quite confusing.

I mean, it's perplexing how they can come out with this after a launch trailer which perfectly captures the greatness of the previous Halo trailers. Serenity, followed by mystery, followed by SHOCK OMG ACTION, followed by a cliffhanger. That formula is perfect, and it has worked for the series so well. This trailer was just bloated, and what Starry Night achieved in 45 seconds this trailer couldn't achieve with two.

As I said, a dark day for the series.

Gui pls. Trailer was a trailer, not a statement on how Halo is the salvation of mankind. It was fine.

It will get interest in the story, whereas the gameplay trailer will highlight the actual "game."

Well For starters I don't think I've seen them go through augmentation much at all? I think if the series is to be successful 343 has to a good job making us care. I think there are a lot of people here who do care though.

I'm not sure it was supposed to stretch out his life as much as it was the Diadact searching through his head to find things, learn about him. Also, it doesn't HAVE to be the same as every other Halo trailer, they are trying to make their own game it makes sense. I don't think this trailer was as good as Starry Night... but I think it was alright.

I've always considered myself part Team Downer... but I would have to say some of you are taking the game trailer a bit too seriously. It's a trailer. For a video game. That was shown on late night TV...

If you want gameplay check weekly updates or all of the direct streams.
If you want more story then watch Forward Unto Dawn.
If you want better music then purchase/stream/listen to the OST.

Well, making a blank character some humanity all of sudden in one trailer looks like a hard work, the trailer was not aimed for the fanbase it was aimed for the newcomers and thats why I wasnt really hyped when I saw it, it showed me things I already know. But for a new player it would be awesome to know that.

Quick question though, were they bodies falling from the sky at the end?

Kickstarter's actually owned/run by Amazon right? That's probably why, Amazon doesn't take Paypal either. My best guess is that they're big enough where they can afford to not take Paypal so they don't have to deal with all of the bullshit that would bring.

Also I agree with Gui's opinion on the trailer, just not nearly as strongly. The one person I've shown it to was just confused and bored. Goes on for way too long and isn't cut great, also poor music. I think a 30-second cut of it for mainstream ads or whatever would probably be much better. This seemed like more of an awesome trailer for fans to show at PAX or something like that, not a launch trailer.

Yeah :( From the elevator....Reminded me of War of the worlds....I feel bad for Dimah...It was kinda rough to watch...but helped set the mood...

Aw..come on dude. Its a trailer. They're trying to dig deeper. Look at the production. Honestly its about time that Chief comes across as a human being to the casual market. Considering how deep the universe has become, the narrative of the main games makes chief a caricature of himself. There's an incredibly stark contrast between what the novels portray and what the games have so far. Pacing of the trailer is the least of my worries.

As it looks right now, I have about 20 extra codes (or more). Not sure if one person wants to buy the lot or if I'm going to get into the liquor cabinet again and just throw them out to people in the thread.

Those aren't even close to equivalent. If you want to compare the Halo 3 Starry Night commercial to something from Halo 4, there's a much better analog:

Halo 3: One shot commercial shown during Monday Night Football
Halo 4: One shot commercial shown during halftime of Euro 2012 game between England and France.

The audience watching the England vs France game was far higher than the audience watching that Monday Night Football game.
