Then why do people report the DMR being so good, better than the BR at close-mid range and such?
Now i take this stuff with a pinch of salt but even hearing claims about that make me worry.
Because i really don't want to use the DMR (not my style) but if it is very good, i will have to guarantee victory.
And Bungie also "tested " Zealot in Reach, complete with the space area. Heck, they tested everything in Reach. They "tested" balance in Halo 3 too.
Additionally, it depends on what they're testing for. If they're testing for actual multiplayer balance, then they fail misserably. If they're testing for some ambiguous "fun" for the masses idea, then they could very well think that random, unpredictable gameplay is good.
I can only assume that actual balance isn't their goal.
Anyone day of release want to take my Web armor DLC from Amazon and trade me their Pulse?
That complaint specifically perplexes me because it wasn't my experience when playing, but I'll have to re-test when the game comes out.
343 obviously can't test for everything, but I'd venture to guess that Infinity Slayer will work decently for most of the population out of the gate. Maybe a coordinated team of people playing together could game the system, maybe they can't. I have yet to play IS.
Here's a question, are there any armor skins pre built in the game or is it just a preorder bonus?
I think Infinity slayer is gonna be a lot of fun
Not "balanced" mind you, but fast and uh..."dynamic"
I think dynamic is the best way to put it. Not cold, calculated, know-all scenarios like Halo has been, but a strategy on the fly gametype. Will be interesting to see how people play it.

Gf work is doing a Halloween pot luck party thing and we got $20+ in Doritos Halo 4XP, I'm a horrible person.

Yup, but since I'm getting the house I need to outfit a couple different rooms with my current setup.
The sarcasm on this thread, arg. Not only is it the lowest form of wit, but it's even less clear in writing. Say what you mean.
Meep.
I can confirm that the DMR HANDILY beats all other primary weapon in almost all scenarios. Though it is quite difficult to wield in close quarters (i'm talking shotgun range). That complaint specifically perplexes me because it wasn't my experience when playing, but I'll have to re-test when the game comes out.

Touche, good sir.

What do you currently have?

Played 7 games of Regicide on Haven last night, and I will be playing dozens more games on other maps/gametypes over the weekend. Almost all my first impressions still stand. When Armageddon Expo is done I will do a huge write-up of all of my experiences and opinions on Halo 4.
Viewing party? Viewing party? Viewing party?
Viewing party.
This is why I disabled pics/gifs on mobilegafrip mobile users
I like how you put "tested" in quotes. They built something, tested it out, and saw if it worked. There's literally no way to replicate how matchmaking treats a map and how fast they'll break it, that's millions of people versus testers in the double digits.
For example, when the Cartographers did the Infection update, we thought we had caught all the exploit spots in testing, even asking during test for people to act like complete assholes. It still wasn't enough to catch all the exploit spots the first time around because matchmaking has a cascade effect where someone will see someone figure out an exploit, then they'll use it, then more people will find that exploit and use it, then someone figures out a counter. Within a week, matchmaking has pounded on your map for the equivalent of 100 man months of internal testing. Nobody can release a perfect map the first time around.

It depends on your style of play. If you are great with the DMR, there's no question. The BR helps folks who're not as good with the DMR in VS situations. So they'll feel less helpless than they would if they were fighting with the DMR. Sounds counterintuitive but it's definitely true.

Also, people played double team?
Need 1 for reach customs, someone hop on.
i have no problem with big team in general, it's fine. squad battle was one of my favorite playlists in halo 3. my problem is the shift in primary focus from 4v4 team oriented play to 5v5 "YOU get a power weapon and YOU get a power weapon and YOU get a wraith AND a power weapon" oriented play.
Infinity slayer will be a broken mess when released from the confines of 343 playtests and convention center lans. Of that there is no doubt.
The PreOrder Trading Spreadsheet still exists, there is some potential for trading but mostly just alot of people wanting the Amazon skin
as always quote for link
Can't wait to see these forums in the days and weeks following launch. It's going to be interesting to see how everyone's opinions on the game evolve after we spend some quality time with it.
Hopefully 343 is quick in responding to any issues that arise (and arise they will I think).
Now using advanced Gaf feature.
Zealot Space wasn't some out of the way glitched area. It represents a fundemental disconnect between what Halo designers see and how the game actually plays.

your ideal world would probably be 100% symmetrical circle arena maps.
Or maybe they just wanted to try out having a map with a low-gravity area in the playspace. It didn't work out in all respects, but they fixed that with Arena Zealot on gametypes affected by top camping.
They figured out the low grav area worked better as being on the side of the map instead of on top, so we got a much better execution of the idea on Anchor 9.
Even without the low grav area, Zealot was a gamble. There hasn't really been a Halo map with an overpass system for movement that lets you walk over most of the rest of the map. Gambles got us maps like Zanzibar, though. Of course, your ideal world would probably be 100% symmetrical circle arena maps. I like it when developers don't play it safe.
