When it comes down to it, it's still just a web series. I fear we're looking into this too much.
And Halos don't try to be particularly realistic. Willing suspension of disbelief and all that.

I hope the showing of trueskill ranking won't be something as lame as a number on Halo Waypoint. Nobody is going to actually care about a rank if you can't even see it in game. And even if it's in game, it shouldn't hidden away in menus like in Reach because that doesn't help either.
PLEASE tell me you didn't just spoil the last episode for me. Please.Killing.
I don't understand why unmarked FUD spoilers are preceding marked FUD spoilers. Was planning on watching the whole thing tonight, only seen ep 1. Ah well.
:/Actually yes, more or less - you select it from the main menu and "go" there, but don't have to exit to the Dash. And you can go straight back into the main game menu from Waypoint.
Directly seeing whether you've gone up or a down a rank is part of what made Halo 2 and 3 ranking great. Now I have to go check fucking Halo Waypoint to see if I ranked up or not. They said it's not in the game at launch because they wanted to properly test it but it really sounds like it's just an afterthought. Unless they show it right next to your name or at the very least right when you click on your profile it won't be of too much use.BUT WHERE'S THE INCENTIVE TO WIN IF PEOPLE HAVE TO ACTUALLY LOOK AT MY PROFILE TO SEE MY RANKS WHAT THE FUCK BUNGLE

Personally, it [Dominion] just doesn't sound appealing to me, and I think most people will find the same thing after the play it for a while. To me, Halo has always been most enjoyable when it was fast enough to be exciting but just at the edge of being able to process and control the flow of gameplay. I don't want to camp huge bases that get fortified the longer I camp them, I don't want these long, drawn out games where I need to trek across big maps to attack a base.
your face when you find out i didn't edit this picture
Don't have to go back to work until Tuesday, November 13th. It's party time, chumps!
The event should start in under 2 hours, that's if we still have a stream. I'm not sure anymore.
V VSo, the CSR will only be viewable on Waypoint?
I reckon people won't be satisfied by CSR. Because it is not visible in-game...
EDIT i assume a future title update could make it visible in-game?
Anything could happen in the future.
I don't know what you're talking about.
We are pleased to announce, just days away from the worldwide Halo 4 launch and the first MLG Halo 4 tournament in Dallas, the Competitive Skill Rank system in Halo 4.
The CSR will appear post-launch in an update to Halo Waypoint and associated Smartglass applications.
Been busy the past few days and haven't posted much. Looks like nothing has changed and there are still no ranks. Lame.
We have to go to a broken website to see ranks? 343 Industries fucking sucks!
So, the CSR will only be viewable on Waypoint?
HYPE DECIMATED
Only reduced by 1/10th? Not bad.

I think this will actually be worse than Arena...
Every playlist is ranked so now if you want to keep your rank in say, slayer pro, you'll need to play at your best all the time. Plus if you don't have any friends online who want to play for a rank with you, you'll have to rely on random teammates who may or may not actually want to win the game.

Which playlists will support CSR?
All competitive playlists will support and track CSR. As the playlists will continuously change post-launch, the exact list of playlists that will support CSR will be determined when the system is ready to drop.
You are ranked in each playlist separately, I don't see how this is a problem. If you have no friends for slayer pro and don't wan't your slayer pro rank to go down then go play another playlist.

And then it is much better to split the ranking to each playlist. Every playlist requires something different.
Incorrect.
I love the ranking news, but have to wonder why its coming so late
lol CSR was definitely made up like a week ago when the realized how apeshit crazy the community went when skill ranks were confirmed to not be in the game
The level of acting was never that great to begin with (well, not Oscar-worthy). The script for FUD: Part 5 had its cheesy moments, but it concluded the series well.
So, the CSR will only be viewable on Waypoint?
Incorrect.
Maybe they did not know if it works? Why should they announce something when they have to scrap it at the end? How pissed would the competitive scene be then?I love the ranking news, but have to wonder why its coming so late
