Even with all the poor choices 343 has made with H4 mp, I still think they made enough good choices at the core that the game will be good.

Can't wait! Two weeks!

WHY? really why...Was it bothering you that much. It's a feature that competitive players loved. We could have at least been given the option in customs.

Out I'm not outright against it, it was just annoying, especially when you had kids on your team that would try to do it and fuck up. I mainly just didn't like it when you could abuse it to get through walls and do other things that obviously weren't intended.

Also I could quite frankly care less what competitive players like. Agreed that there's no reason it shouldn't have been an option in customs though, but I've already written off customs in Halo 4.

So, we just tried the campaign, then the theater, and I can confirm there is no campaign clip.

It's a variant of oddball now.
 
Finished up Ghosts of Onyx today. Enjoyed it quite a bit, although it started to slow down at the end. So far I've read Fall of Reach, First Strike, and now Ghosts of Onyx.

What is recommended next? How're Cole Protocol and Contact: Harvest?

Pretty much, but having it say Grifball at the start of every game would be odd, and it all depends on custom game options, can we actually change the primary & secondary weapons and all that stuff?

Time will tell I suppose.

EDIT: If we get an updated version of Megalo or something like it, it would be highly possible we could get Assault working in Halo 4.

On a side/lighter note; I love the way the warthog's tires spin in Halo 4. Looks very . . . spinny.

Because generally companies aren't in the habit of announcing bad news.

Haha alrighty there man. You're right let's make all of H4 MP casual noob friendly while tossing aside the competitive community. It's not like we couldn't have some playlist with flag juggling in for competitive players. But that option would also have to be in customs.

If theater isn't even available for campaign, and still one player only for multiplayer films, it looks like I won't be using it.

I used it all the time in Halo 3. I used it maybe 4 times in Reach.
 
Buddy just confirmed no theater clips for campaign he can't try sp ops likely because he would have to connect to Xbl to download it.
I am strangely unmoved by this revelation.

The removal of assault & firefight, the butchering of CTF and the horrible design choices in regards to the covenant have made me numb towards any and all other removals/changes.

I honestly don't care, I never really used theatre in Halo Reach anyway, and I only used it in Halo 3 because it was a fun novelty.
But it sucks for those who used it, I guess. Well, I fucking loved assault (my favorite gametype was one bomb), and now it's gone. Welcome to the club.

His response to me was framed in "it was a feature competitive players loved" which is irrelevant to me. And we both know "competitive" here means MLG and hardcore players, trying to equate that to general matchmaking is retarded.

I can't spectate or rank how some of you may feel.

I know someone who is seriously going to be crushed by this.
 
1) Technically stunning Halo Campaign without Theatre is a sad, sad loss
2) Why we're finding this out through pirates/early copy getters is beyond me. Why?

Very glad I stuck with the standard edition. The steel book looks awesome, but the rest of it looks super lame. Should have been $79.
Do you mean they shouldn't include the $25 season pass? That would make it $5 more expensive than it is now. Or if you mean tincase+seasonpass+game for just $80, that seems unreasonable to expect from MS considering the normal game (cheap plastic box) plus season pass costs $85.

From what I've seen of the Grifball-specific options (since it's a separately listed gametype now, not a child gametype under the Oddball parent or anything), you can set an arm time, a fuse time, and a reset time for the ball. However, the ball has physics and can be kicked by walking into it (which can't be toggled) if you don't have automatic pickup enabled. There's no option for a disarm time that I've seen, so assault as we know it wouldn't be possible. Unless there are options that the streamer didn't go through (and I'm pretty much fully certain that there weren't), then they'd have to patch in Assault options. Oddball doesn't appear to have the arm/disarm sliders.

Might as well get the two Kilo Five books out of the way. They're slow on the action, heavy on the dialog and feels.

So my friend is talking about some kind of game type iv never heard of called extraction says you capture areas and extract items sounds like dominion to me but he swears its not that? Have we heard about this?

-Starts with 2 locations: Alpha and Bravo
-Takes 3 seconds to arm a location and starts a 45 countdown
-Takes 3 seconds to 'convert' a location to your team, which resets the countdown timer
-After 45 seconds, you capture a location, you get a point, and a new one spawns
-5 locations total
-Goal is to get more points than your enemy (3-2, 2-1)
-Bunch of random shi­t on the map and a portal gun

All I've heard about it.
