Was off in ban land so I couldn't post much. I didn't get to play any H4 my long holiday break, which I'm still on thanks to being laid off right before Christmas.

ranks are the last thing i care about, i rather them add weapon placements and better playlists.

Add simple options like:

turn off kill cam
disable hud such as xp and weapon indicators
slayer pro should have only kills matter and each is 1 point.[50 is game]

I still believe that eventually the ranks will be added in-game. I just hope that 343 realizes that when you make a playlist "ranked" there are certain expectations that come along. For example, JiP doesn't make sense in ranked playlists.

Dunno. The only real info we have was from that short post. I don't think it was mentioned ever again after that. Who knows, maybe they changed their plans and decided to add visual ranks to the game.

You probably won't see me playing it though. If they don't significantly change the base game, I don't want to compete for a rank in these settings.

I swear after they announced Join in Progress in the GI mag, that they later announced it wouldn't work in 'ranked' games.

Although, I'm probably imagining it :/

That is actually a good point, they said at the time of announcement that CSR may or may not have separate playlists for use, I just hope they've made their mind up to separate them from the regular playlists and disabled JIP completely on the ranked ones, otherwise you've just got a clusterfuck of people leveling down on JIP faults.

This game needs ranks, the visible kind in game, I'll pay extra I don't care.

People are cheating without them, there is no longer a scapegoat to not have them visible.

Like others already said ranks would be nice, but pretty much useless without settings that work.

Also JiP can't be in for Ranked.. that would just kill the thing.

They don't really need any motivation to milk the fanbase/franchise any more. They're doing it on their own without our help (although they'll never get my 800 MSP for the Crimson pack - damn your framerate issues!)

There's a thing in Black Ops 2 called greed. I don't remember what it does but I've been using it. There's a lot of stuff in that game that do different things.

Been playing a ton of Battlefield 3 and League of Legends. With a side offering of Far Cry 3, GTA 4 and X3.

Maxxed out graphics, 60 FPS (apart from the shaddy PC port of GTA 4).

I haven't touched Halo 4 since before the map pack dropped (and the maps really looked bland) and, for some reason, I have no urge to return to Halo yet.

I'm not happy, as a Halo fan, with this situation.

Also, Walking Dead Episode 1 sets the done great, if the rest of the episodes are at least that good, god damn!

Reach started the trend, but for me Halo 4 sealed the deal. This is the first in the series that doesn't "hook" me like previous iterations. Even ODST and the lack of matchmaking for firefight didn't turn me off this quickly in the game cycle - I was still using forums to find/beg for teammates to fight as long as we could (even with the lag and the issue of one person quitting ending the game).

In their grab for the COD player they seem to have missed out on both crowds. As has been said many times here they will never out COD the COD franchise. That game is so far down the rabbit hole there is never going to be another multiplayer versus game that comes even close to all the unlockables, weapon add ons, progress bars, awards, ribbons, etc. And when you introduce some of these COD items into the Halo sandbox you end up turning away the rabid long term halo fan (most of the HaloGAF regulars) as you now don't have a "Halo" game either. It's a lose lose situation for the consumer and the daily population proves it.

Gonna get them on XBLA when they go on sale on my birthday, great coincidence, although now I have to sit here wishing I could just play all of them.
