Not like MLG's snuffing out of grassroots tournies has been any better in terms of ethics. I'm enjoying this because now the shoe is on the other foot and they don't like it. Company wise, not community wise. I can't really feel sad for a company that went around saying before that they wanted to be the ONLY place for pro gaming in the United States.
Non-company specific hardcore playlist please.
Gonna absolutely disagree with you there. In my opinion, MLG is pissed because they wanted to prove to the Halo community that they still cared. Then, they find out they can't, even after a stellar turn out in Dallas, because Microsoft has signed a deal with Virgin Gaming.
MLG knows their roots, the Halo community has a love/hate relationship with MLG, and that relationship is justified. This year, again, in my opinion, was the year MLG wanted to show the Halo community some love. Regardless of the condition of the game or the community, this is a slap in the face to MLG. MLG, as a company, loves Halo... they want to love Halo. And now, because of a Microsoft deal with Virgin Gaming, they can't show Halo any love.
For over a decade, literally, MLG has put their foot in their mouth and ate the bill for the Halo community, now, when their in a position to pay back the Halo community for sticking with them through thick and thin, they, legally, can't.
