Walking Dead has been pitiful lately. So boring.
Wait, Walking Dead is about zombies? What a shame. Here I was thinking someone was truly going to innovate and depict a tale pitting man against man against the bare elements, withstanding nature's tests of time. You guys get too emotionally attached to TV shows.
I dunno, it's been a while since I've seen the original video.
Edit : On a totally different note, what are the chances that we'll get some major-ish Destiny news from GDC?
I read like 200 pages of the graphic novel, and then couldn't take it anymore. So many of the conflicts were about petty shit that could have easily been resolved with kindergarten level conflict resolution skills. I can put up with that to a degree, but when it pervades so many of the interactions and conflicts, it's hard for me to take a story seriously.Going to be honest, I could never really get into The Walking Dead. Its not bad but to me I just have never been able to stand it.
Bummer. Hopefully we'll get some sort of significant info, at least.Bungie said don't expect a trailer from them.

evilore walked into the restaurant I was at tonight haha
Yes. as he walked in I stood up and yelled NEOGAF UNITE! He then jumped in the air pointed at the cashier and said "this guy's meal is on me!" Then we high fived and hung out for hours and he drove me home in his camero.Did he pick up the tab?
Even when taking mental and emotional crisis and the fact that a bunch of random people were suddenly thrown together to fight for their survival into consideration, the way the conflicts were written frequently felt unbelievable. Or, if not believable, then just really disappointing. Like, really, yall couldn't just talk things out? And not only could you not talk things out, but you have to try and kill each other? I wish I could cite examples, but it's been nearly a year since I read the books, and I don't remember many specifics. How do.you know those conflicts could be solved easily? Or is it that you lived years in a post Apocalyptic world where the person you trust or love the most can eat you alive out of the blue?

I should try and watch the show soon. I've been wanting to for a long time. I could myself potentially liking it more than the books.
Just throwing it out there as an idea to allow more consistent playlist settings without dividing up TUs and whatnot.
Let's say, hypothetically, all the main playlists used consistent gametype settings right down to the sandboxes. You and some buddies go in to play Team Objective. Your voting options are:
CTF / One Flag / Assault / One Bomb
Everyone votes for One Bomb. Rather than segregate playlists, immediately following this vote, a second set of options come up, with the map and gametype displayed in a footnote somewhere on the screen. Two giant squares fill up most of the remaining voting space.
LEGACY (Mark V Helmet Icon)
Magnum and 1 Frag starts across the board.
LOADOUTS (Spartan IV Recruit Helmet Icon)
Players may spawn with their customized loadouts.
Depending on what gets the majority vote, players will use either play "Legacy CTF" or "Loadout CTF," though this gametype difference itself isn't specified in-game due to how minute of a change it is.
Do you guys think something like that would be feasible rather than changing gametype settings per playlist?

You know what would be cool for Forge? If they let you create a map block by block and also let you create and share custom pieces via the same block by block method. Also let you edit the color of each block.
Though most maps would end up looking like this I would be 100% ok with it.
I'll be real with you that sounds awful. As bad as Reach's Forge was for visual clarity I can't imagine how eye boggling it would be to play on maps like that.

No doubt, a Far Cry editor in Halo would be amazing. I just love how accurate you can replicate another game's map at a glance with it.Personally I do not care much for how the maps look, I want to do more in Forge and I think its clear we will never get a Far Cry 3 level editor.
I would VASTLY prefer a Far Cry editor over this.

Isn't that basically Murder Miners?

I know it's free and all, but jeeez. Why does it look so ugly? It looks like a last-gen map. Honestly makes me appreciate Bungie that little bit more because of the detail they'd put into their environments.
Gotcha. In general I am okay with what we currently have, but I would love to see more options available. Ultimate for me would be a PC editor/creator that you can move to the console. Think xna on a more limited scale. I am also fully aware of how likely that is.

That is EXACTLY what I want, actually threw the idea of a Halo Network around awhile ago. I mean hell let some people even sell the maps for like $1 if it gets enough (1000 5 star) positive ratings and have them take a 50% cut. They would make crazy money off of it.

I don't think they can make a map this large with that much detail in it. The 360 can only handle so much.
But the detail fucked it up. Forge World from Reach was bumpy as fuck. So many great spaces ruined because you'd spend too many resources working out the kinks. tis is meant to be a blank canvas without the hastle. This isn't meant to blow you away visually. It's jusst meant to give forgers handy, blank slates on which to create maps.
Forge World looks bigger.
TF2 has this thing where people can buy Stamps of community-made maps, and the proceeds go towards the map maker. Perhaps have a system where players who donate a certain amount (for example, a dollar) can have a symbol on their Service Record or something with a picture of the map?

You want people to pay for more maps? You want ANOTHER paywall? I'm sorry but that is an absurd idea. You could have people perfectly recreating old Halo maps but the idea that people could sell their maps is crazy. Absolutely nuts. DLC, even with the Season Pass, is a criplling reminder that shows that all the barriers do is whittle down the existing playlists.
I don't even want to know who the people you were hoping to make money on htis would be.
That's because it's supposed to be as blank a slate as possible. What did you expect?I know it's free and all, but jeeez. Why does it look so ugly? It looks like a last-gen map. Honestly makes me appreciate Bungie that little bit more because of the detail they'd put into their environments.
Yeah. I was actually kinda hoping for a Sandbox type map, but meh. I guess it's better than nothing. While forgeworld left me feeling meh visually, it did have a lot of detail. Forge Island looks so vacant. And its basically Ravine with Ragnarok ground texture. Also, the Skybox has little to no variety..we need something so players can orient themselves.
I wish they went the Sandbox route used deep rich colors with a bright playspace contrasted by a dark non playable area. It looked the best out of all of our Forge offerings IMO.
I dunno. Doesn't look that much bigger than Forge World (if at all). Will have to see for certain in-game of course.I don't think they can make a map this large with that much detail in it. The 360 can only handle so much.
:lolThxObamaCertain Affinity
The point of the map is to look as boring as possible? There are other ways of giving us three flat areas.Because Its a map of 3 flat islands that takes place in the middle of a fucking ocean.
AKA the entire point of the map.

Because the Forgers want the art team to step asided and let them do things
Something that doesn't look like it came from Halo 2 Vista. That's because it's supposed to be as blank a slate as possible. What did you expect?

.Why is their always that guy I see, that nothing please them and will complain about something at any given chance
You realize the point of that map isn't to play on it like that right? Being as functional as possible and reducing the frills to get the best performance possible would make it the best Forge space possible, even if it doesn't have any tulips sprouting from the ground or whatever.Something that doesn't look like it came from Halo 2 Vista.
