First of all, Staten wasn't creative director, he was a writer and design director. Secondly, they explicitly stated that they do have a release date in the last mail sack.

Because he got a better job?

Thirdly, what does PlayStation have to do with "things probably aren't as rosy at Bungie as we think"? They're launching their new franchise on the most powerful game console ever made, the PS4.

Whoa whoa, relax, just a dumb observation lol.

Six years ago today I was waiting in line at midnight for the first time. So many awesome memories.

Also, tonight would be a great time to announce Halo Trilogy for Steam, 343. You've got a bulletin tonight and everything.

Seeing my friends list dominated by GTAV makes me miss when I used to see the same for Halo 3. It continued to dominate for MONTHS. Even after CoD4 came out the majority of my FL was on Halo 3. What an awesome community back then.

Rose tinted glasses be damn, Halo 3 Era was incredibly fun.

No kidding. I used to know I could sign on anytime at night and people I knew would be playing. Now? I'm lucky to be able to organize a gathering on Steam with the people I used to play with.

The band broke up, man.

Halo 3 on Saturday? Count me in, although HaloGaf customs will be on far too late for me, I'll get the party started earlier.

Besides, this will be the last time I play Halo MP with you folks.

Halo 3 came out today in 2007? I still actually have the "do not sell before" sticker that was on the special edition I got, I attached it to a poster frame that I put random Halo posters in.

Great Halo game. Let's get back to that.

Well with turning everything on the TV off its a bit less than that...but still pretty awful. 2ms 1080p monitor from now on though! Was also pretty cheap ($100) for a nice 22 inch.
How is the response time measured, though? Sometimes they'll give you a "grey to grey" number that's lower than the true useful response rate (that and input lag you still have to go on user perceptions.)

I've got a 1080p 2ms b2b monitor I use as my computer and gaming monitor. It's nice but hasn't helped with me getting wiped in Throwdown.

Halo 3 Era was SO FUCKIN FUN.

Halo 3 was probably the best few years of gaming I ever had. Had friends on all the time. Weekends were 16 man parties for hours. BTB was boss. Ranked was boss. It was so good.

I'll be amazed if I ever see anything like that again.

RIP Sandtrap and being able to man the hog for more then 20 seconds with out being plasma pistolaed. Only 343 could take something so good and turn it to complete shit.

Yes, an OP warthog was so much fun
for the driver/gunner
.

And honestly, no offense meant to any of you as it's basically a generational thing at this point, but this is why I personally have no hope for the future of Halo. When the majority of remaining Halo fans think Halo 3 was great, what chance do future Halo's have?

Halo 3 is great compared to the garbage we have now.

Pretty sweet chance for those of us who thought Halo 2 and Halo 3 were awesome.

How do you know it's a brute?

The comics story deals with Arbiter talking to a Brute Chieftan.

How do you know it's a brute?

In the comic description.

The UNSC flagship Infinity is assigned escort duty for a diplomatic mission between the Arbiter and a powerful chieftain of the Brute tribes—but when a rogue Covenant group attacks, it's going to take all the firepower the Spartans have to keep the delegates alive!

Unless they created a whole new race, which I doubt it. It will be more like "Its another Brute race that lived in another planet" yadayada redesign.

Even the way that 343 portrayed the Brutes in the opening cutscene for Halo 4 was good. They looked like big hulking gorillas that were 3x as big as a Spartan-II, almost hunter like.

Well. You know that this is the Variant cover? It does not really have to do anything with the main storyline.
