Best Buy doing a $100 trade-in on Xbox 360 right now, so I did that and used the BB gift-cards on Amazon gift-cards. Then I went to Gamestop and traded in my 250gb HDD + accessories + 30% trade-in bonus and got around $75ish. Got my $9.99 CoD: Ghosts upgrade and then paid off Titanfall.

I did keep my copies of Halo CE, 2, and 3 though. Too many memories.

Halo 4 has some disappointing aspects still, but that doesn't stop me from playing it.

That said, I'm sure I'll enjoy Titanfall and Destiny.

I'm in a weird situation - with the Xbox 360 and ps3 my decision was all around exclusives - it was really between halo and metal gear solid. Halo won out back then.

Now that halo is no longer a system seller for me I really have no reason to hold allegiance with microsoft but metal gear solid is now multi platform! I suppose logically I should get the Xbox one as I can play halo and metal gear but the ps4 has the cool recording capabilities

Ultimately there are honestly no games I want to play for either next gen console. Titanfall is interesting but I'm worried it wont be anywhere near as good as the hype leads on I played it at eurogamer and the (full) matches threw in bots which really put me off the multiplayer.

Meh I cant see myself going next gen until late next year at the earliest

Sounds like you should wait and see indeed. Halo may be a system seller for you but you haven't seen it. Forget Halo 4, lets wait and see what Halo 5 is about.

Havok, am I crazy or is KZ MP really freaking good? Even with abilities, the game doesn't revolve around them, and the lack of auto aim is a god send. Not to mention the objective changing every 5 minutes, Halo needs to copy this.

Agreed,perfect controller imo. The sticks are only a hair smaller and it's not a negative especially when the grips are so good on the edge.

If BF4 is a broken mess even at the European launch. Let be honest it is highly likely to be, then I will spend my time playing Resogun. I will play it lots just like I did geometry wars.

I am cautiously optimistic about KZ MP, merely on the basis that I haven't seen much bullshit in the few streams I've been watching.

I am cautiously optimistic about KZ MP, merely on the basis that I haven't seen much bullshit in the few streams I've been watching.

KZ definitely has some issues, like the shield, random teleportation ability, etc, but it's still fun. Most of the maps are solid, and there's no aim assist (the Dualshock 4's sticks are incredible - you'll know when you play it).

It's not going to replace old school Halo, but getting a party together and donging is always good. And I still can't get over how good it looks, and running at 60fps is just icing on the cake. Guerrilla has some wizardry going on.

So speaking of Killzone since my PS4 is bricked I'm watching a friend stream it all night. Is it just me or does it sound like the shield recharge sound from halo 1 when they first activate cheif's shield s on the POA when the Owl revives you? It really does to me.

Yeah, Warzone has always been a great idea. I'm not in love with all of the gametypes in there (I don't think their Neutral Bomb equivalent is much fun), but most of them are pretty solid. It's just such a different kind of game and when you go in expecting that kind of gadget heavy thing it's a lot of fun. I think it sets that kind of expectation by being so straightforwardly class-based, and they execute on that really well. I think if Halo tried to do the gadget/ability thing like this I'd hate it, but KZ's not trying to pace itself that way which helps balance it out in a lot of ways. I'm glad the multiplayer turned out as well as it did, because I thought the single player (specifically the second half) was either A) boring or B) outright bad. Also, it's given me an alternative to play when Battlefield craps out (which is every five minutes, thanks DICE).

But yeah, I am having a lot of fun with that multiplayer, even if there are some serious rough spots (one being how ridiculously powerful the Sickle shotgun is, and another being that sniper class SMG that has an explosive secondary that's an instant kill and hey, fuck that). I can't believe there isn't a party system, though - when I joined you I sat at a black screen for a full three or four minutes while it looked for an empty spot. It's 2013, feature parity with Halo 2 can't be that difficult.

I'm also starting to wonder if people on that platform are just awful at shooters. We steamrolled the other team 5-0 and it wasn't even close, and I've been in the top three of every match I've played without that much knowledge or effort put in. Do you know if the guys in that party were using the packed in headset? Everybody sounded like they were talking through a pair of socks, and I'm curious if it's the shitty headset (and boy is it shitty) or the codec they're using for party chat. I picked up the new Turtle Beach set (the uh...PX4's, I think) that they advertised as being out-of-the-box compatible with the PS4 to avoid using that POS.

Controller doesn't feel very good in my opinion. Feels really cheap, the rubber of the sticks feel weird and all in all it feels awkward to hold the controller still. Doesn't feel natural, not sure if it's because I'm so used to the Xbox 360 controller or what, but I adapted instantly to the Xbox One, that controller already feels natural... Gonna give the controller some more time.

System looks really nice, but not as nice as the pictures made it out to be.

UI is really simple, but at the same time... bad? Unorganized and everything is hidden away under menus and more menus/sections. Don't really like how it's not very customizable.


All in all, it's pretty okay. Holding me off nicely until November 22.

I'm torn to be honest. I miss console gaming. League is fun and all, but I miss Halo . I'm going to wait a few months before choosing a console. Right now I'm leaning towards PS4, with the better graffix and rizolooshun, but Xbox has the games I like (Titanfall and Halo).

Also I saw you got an xb1 controller on twitter early. How did you do that?

I believe it's the codec, party chat is extremely low and muffled on my A40's as well.
