my parents told me to never give out personal info on the internets

I'm 17. Please don't take my Twitter account as any measure of my actual being. I act like an idiot and use many hyperbole and exaggerate a lot on Twitter because... why not.
I don't think anyone takes your twitter serious. No way would anyone in their right mind spend $314.95 on titanfall stuff.

oh wait.

I believe the game is worth spending that much on, and decided I can afford to spend that much, so I will. I don't see the issue.

Anyways, TitanFall's Collector's Edition costing $250 had me wondering...

Would you guys be okay with Halo One's collector's edition costing $250 if it included one of those super high quality expensive statues 343 occasionally shows off? Like the recent Master Chief statue were he's in essentially in the same pose as the Halo 4 cover?

Or do you guys prefer the Halo 4 approach of just having a standard $60 copy, and a $99 collector's edition? I kind of miss the awesome $150 editions available for Reach and Halo 3.

EDIT: This Master Chief statue is the one I was referring too.

RIP in peace, Ora. Wasn't he only a junior? Dat permaban.

...

I got the Halo Reach statue thingy and well... it's still in its box in my garage. I wouldn't even consider dropping that amount of money on another Collector's Edition that came with a statue. Saying that though, I think that Halo 4's CE was alright... but there could have been more. A behind the scenes video maybe? And extra disc of goodies? (à la Halo 2/3)

I like the silhouettes sub zero, as pointed out already it looks like a mix of a shot gun and a rail gun. Can't wait to see the revamps of it.

Speedy I'm nor quite sure what to say other than that's a ugly statue.

Welp, here's what I what I would do (if I had 45 minutes):

For some reason, I think it makes more sense to put the circle (Eye of Aether) in the stock, since you're going to have a stock anyway and it makes sense to put stuff there. The result was basically to shift the weight to be spread between forward and aft of the grip a little more evenly. I modeled the trigger/grip area after this guy:

...which on second thought might be a little too railgun-esque. Shame a thumbhole stock makes a lot of sense in this situation. I made the front pointy to be a little less shotgun-esque. The front could be a little more boring-er I guess, too, and therefore less "specialist" like Wahrer was saying.

Here's another way less fleshed-out design from left field:

Looks a little like the Storm Rifle (Halo.)

$99 is good for me, though I don't see why they couldn't make a $300 Super Uber Platinum Onyx Edition for people who don't know how to handle money. Personally, for ridiculously nerdy shit that just sits on a shelf, I prefer to build my own.

Damn, you're quick. Just for reference, the rifle uses a holographic aim down sight, but the scoping is still your traditional Halo zoom. I'm not sure where I want the Eye in this one - my original plan was to have it dead center of the gun, but your weight allocation makes way more sense. I'll have to play with it a little more.

I was actually considering having the eye run perpendicular to the rifle either in a "satellite dish" style on the back of the gun or even running it where an ammo barrel would be on an LMG, but I feel like it'd be weird compared to how well the Opus came together. At any rate, I can nail down a more consistent design this weekend.

And yes, belucheez, these assets are all going towards the game. I might try and mod Quake 4 as a starting point.

Ora will live on in our hearts. RIP in peace. Looks like it was a ban for posting alpha footage of TitanFall.

I gotta get on my PC and check out these Wahrer posts. Uhh, Halo.

EDIT: Looking nice Eugn and Wahrer. I personally love the thumbhole look and it's similar but not overly railgun looking.

We talked about those the other day, I think.

By the way... Since I'm a canon whore, I'm caving in. Are they digital comics? If so, where can you buy them?

Agreed. Halo 4's CE wasn't a bad value or anything for only $40 more. It was almost worth that much more alone in DLC. I liked the Infinity packet and the mission briefing stuff, it was cool how they tried to bring the buyer into the universe. Though I feel like it was stuff setting up Spartan Ops more than the overall game itself. I would've loved a Halo 2-esque Behind the Scenes disc, I still have my Halo 2 CE.

~~~~~~~~~~
Frank, is the Halo 4 CE modeled after something in the universe, because the CE's are scattered all around in the first level, or was it just an easter egg?
EDIT: So was Ora actually an alt, or were people just joking?
After seeing Titanfall gameplay and the positive impressions, I really hope 343 can create a quality classic Halo game with Halo 5, because the last time Halo thrived with increased competition in the FPS market was when Halo was still Halo with 3.
Halo can't succeed without something to differentiate itself against games like Destiny, Titanfall, CoD, and whatever else will be out, and there's no better way to be different from the current FPS market than by being Halo.
Alright I've finished:
I though the green color would suit a covenant aesthetic design. That's probably the most productive thing I've done most of this week.
TitanFall's raw gameplay looks like Call of Duty, with mechs. Mech gameplay looks good.....everything else not so much.
I don't understand the hype.
If I get home early enough tonight I'll do more streaming, I may borrow a friend's copy of Halo 4 to play, I may play Halo 3, maybe Reach Anniversary Classic. We'll see, so get hype for tonight! Have fun in customs, don't gso by ExWife every match!
So today will be customs?
Yep!
Paint again. I am that much of a wizard.
Step by step thingy. The order is down the page on the left, then the right.
Lovely choice of purple Stormtrooper.
Oh my god. :lol these are beautiful. I especially love Nebula's shameless copy-paste of the Eye of Aether and all of the textures.
That being said, I think I've found a profile I'm happy with. Thanks for the help, guys! It takes a lot of inspiration from my old Phase Rifle concept, except it's not 99% floating parts this time. The whole "compact mode" thing took a lot of priority; the frame for the aim down sight is actually a variation of the negative space evident in the bottom of the gun. One of the most aggravating parts of the process is that eight separate races have to be able to hold this thing properly; most are humanoid hands, but one race is three-fingered and another has the classic Elite hands with two thumbs. Also, regarding thumbholes - I don't mind the thumbholes themselves, I just don't want them to affect the silhouette and make it ridiculously curvy the way Prinz's irl gun does.
Could also try adding them to Halo PC and Halo 2 PC.
I've considered this, too, but I think I'm expecting a little too much to be able to use Custom Edition. Not that there are any major graphical leaps or big cinematic setpieces or anything, but some of the guns have some weird properties that probably don't translate to CE's engine that great. I actually PMed Stalker a while ago with some Halysis ideas and most of those wouldn't work either - and those were tame compared to the gun properties that exist now.
Just beat Halo 2 on Legendary because you guys made it seem impossible last week. Only hard level is that one with Masterchief on the High Charity, where Gravemind teleports him. The start of the level took me like 30 minutes to get out of. Besides that, ya'll are noob cakes.
On PC? If so, had you ever beaten it on Legendary before (like on Xbox or whatever)?
So are these guns meant for Halo, Wahrer?
Nah, it's for a separate project. It's an online-only multiplayer FPS, cel-shaded but without outlines (think TF2 or Loadout) that'll start out on PC either as a mod or a standalone game. It's meant to be spiritual successor to some of the original console-based FPSes, for example Perfect Dark and notably Halo: Combat Evolved.
Ohhh I like it.
So I joined the recolor game:
Should I just turn all of the blueprints into a coloring book when I'm done? :lol
Yeah, even for speedrunners, Gravemind is a nightmare.
Halo 2 was definitely the toughest on legendary, but it wasn't anywhere near impossible. I beat it right near launch. Even my dad beat it on legendary, and he plays legendary on his first playthrough. And he doesn't play anything aside from poker games and halo.
Haha. That's where I stopped my legendary run on PC and glitched the rest. The brutes in combination with clunky mouse and keyboard made it very frustrating... I think I spent close to an hour trying
Cool!
See I was wondering. Guns seems to be, like, the one thing HaloGAF criticizes about Halo 4 but doesn't do anything to suggest fixes for often (that I've seen).
So what would HaloGAF have as suggestions for new guns in Halo? Should they just scrap the promethean weapons, refine them/most of them, introduce new ones? Just curious.
disappointed Titanfall isn't replicating the progressive sideways text "Baseball Card" lobby interface that 343 pioneered. that was a dynamite look imo.
