Halo |OT2| Hyper-Athletic Speed And Mass And Weight and Power

I say get rid of all of the DLC playlists. It obviously won't be possible in Reach just because the engine isn't meant for it, but I think it'd be cool if some Ranked playlists required DLC (some of the major ones, like Rumble Pit/BTB/Slayer/Objective/Invasion, which would cover most niches), and the remainder (including Social) just recommended DLC with double or triple weightings if there was a full-DLC party. Then in the party preferences, replace the whole chatty/competitive/team player/lone wolf thing with a checklist like this:
Match me with:
Maps
_Default _Noble _Defiant _Anniversary

the underscores are checkboxes. It'd be possible to play just anniversary, noble/default, etc.

Players
_Default _Parties _Guests _Second Accounts

Second accounts would just be some sort of optional thing in your Armory with a yes or no option. But this way, you could potentially play with nothing but second accounters in parties, no guests, ONLY solo players (eliminating the need for something like a Mercenaries playlist), etc. All of them would be selected by default, and DLC would be checked as you purchased it.

EDIT: It should be noted the map checklist would only apply to Ranked/DLC-required playlists. Players checklist would affect everything, though.

I'm really not that good with a 1.10 k/d ratio but not bad for 41 years of age.
Age is not an excuse. Reaction time doesn't slow significantly until you are in your 50's if not later. 1.10 k/d is good but you can do better. Watch Tashi's weekly montage to learn what not to do. Also: Welcome to HaloGAF, the only place on GAF where rational(sort of) Halo talk occurs (sometimes).

That thread is killing me now. Everyone on Gaf talks like it's the most knowledgeable gaming forum there is but then you read threads like that and it makes you wonder if the people posting have ever even played the game they are discussing.

In fairness, just because GAFfers give opinions on games they haven't even played doesn't mean they AREN'T the most knowledgeable gaming forum there is. Remember, that bar is pretty damn low.

There's a "frozen stiff" joke in there somewhere.
He did say "Wake me when you need me" to Cortana. Not want, NEED.

This made me ponder whether his repressed sexual desires wasn't permanent and required "regular" treatments. Heh, well done.

My first thought for treatments wasn't... convential medicine. :lol

still waiting for the inevitable Halo porn parody involving Dr. Falsie receiving Carter and Noble Sex's packages with cameos from Cortana and Chief

Did you guys know that PCs had online gaming before the Xbox? I just found this out dozens of times in a thread on the gaming side.

At one point the industry use to make point-and-click games and people actually bought them!

The days of Gabriel Knight, Space Quest, Lesuire Suits Larry, Phantasmagoria seem so far ago. The name "Roberta Williams" use to mean something. Damn consoles, damn them all to hell.

Chief should be grateful he's sleeping through bloom and armor lock.

*Chief wakes up*

Chief: Anything new happen while I was gone?

Cortana: Yes, actually. I've received several confirmed reports of all UNSC ordinance having taken a noticable decline in efficiency and accuracy due to degradation in firing mechanism proficiency. In addition, armor modifications that weren't suited for present era combat were forced upon UNSC soldiers which resulted in catastrophic results. All of these initiatives were enacted by the UNSC Commander in Chief at the time, former UNSC Commander in Chief Sage Merrill. Control of the UNSC fleet has been shifted elsewhere, however.

Chief: Is it finished?

Cortana: All inconsistencies up to date will be erradicated once we land.

Chief: Good.

I'll have to pop in Halo 3 and rmmage for that laughable 360 noscope game winning kill. I'll submit it to Duncan if I find it.

Also, Duncan and I are fighting valiantly over the coveted 11th place in the HaloGaf group!

Without looking, I'm guessing it was the "Does Bungie Deserve More Credit?" thread.

And here I said nothing good would come of it.
Most overhyped developper of the century. They never created anything. The only thing they did was porting the FPS genre to consoles by completely downgrading it. What an achievement.
All Bungie ever did was repackage the cool shit PC gamers had been used to for years for the console crowd.

...which actually is a pretty fucking big deal, historically speaking.

Probably Reach with the Smartjoy adapter or whatever it's called now that lets you play it with KBAM. Or just a screenshot on his computer.

Warning: This is a post about Firefight, and the need for an important change to Doubles. You probably know right now whether to avert your eyes.

A bit ago I had a great game of Firefight Doubles on Corvette. It was great because my teammate quite the moment it started, and I could continue with the game unmolested. But that poses a challenge as well, because the time limit was lifted from the Firefight Arcade playlist when Doubles was created: 20 minutes. That's not enough time for a full set for one player. I got close - to the final boss wave. Close didn't cut it.

Thing is, on most maps there is not enough time for a full set for two players. On any map other than Corvette, Courtyard and Holdout, the odds of two players finishing the set and getting to the bonus round are slim. I've done it a couple times with a good partner on Beachhead, and that's it. That means no one - myself included - wants to play on any other map. Because finishing a game of Firefight is fun.

I've been pointing out - literally - since the day Firefight Doubles went live that the 20 minute time limit carried over from Arcade needs to be lifted to 30 minutes in doubles, because it takes two players longer to kill guys than it does four players.

I just had a second game on Corvette and even me and my bozo partner still didn't get to the end. In both games I was playing so fast my hands were cramped up by the the end. I never died in either game.

Please fix this, 343. I know and have accepted that you're not going to ever fix Fiesta in Score Attack (it's broken there, but correct in Arcade). Or update the game types (Arcadefight has 4/5 waves the same for every round). Or any of the other many great things you could do with the playlists but are not because you do not make updates to Firefight other than playlist deletions. But I'm asking for an exception. It's been about nine months. One itty-bitty, teeny-tiny update? Please? It would matter a great deal.

Man, I don't know where the hell Avalanche was for me in Matchmaking. I think I only got it once or twice. I've only played it a handful of times, and mostly in customs.

Well, with The Thursday War announced, I guess we for sure known Halo 4 isn't coming out in September, then. Later on in October, maybe? Or... Probably November.
