Just bought the Halo 2 Map Pack Disc and the non LE Halo 2 manual for 5 bucks. I'm still looking for Halo 3 Legendary. Anyone have any leads on a good price other than ebay?

Seeing what happened with the armor (Mk.V), the weapons (Grenade Launcher) and the vehicles (Chopper), I will not be surprised if the same thing happens with gametypes (Assault/KotH).
That Grifball excuse still isn't a good hint towards Assault's removal, but... maybe there's a new Assault gametype using the OB since it can be scored in goals now and can be thrown!

Assault can be recreated with CTF, via reversing the flag/objective spawns, at least.

There's a couple of reasons, from my understanding. Firstly, I don't believe the forum software (YAF) allows you to view your inbox when you're banned, so that's a setting that cannot be changed. Secondly (and the more important one), the PM you receive is from a moderator about why you were banned. Typically, getting banned pisses people off, which makes them want to argue and fight with the moderators. The thought process is that the user will read the message after their ban is over, and thus cooled off so they're less argumentative and more level-headed if they want to discuss their ban.
However, this doesn't allow the user to appeal their ban, not to mention it's slightly annoying. From what I've seen, 9/10 Waypoint bans are very justified, however it sucks to be that tenth person.

I don't know- the more I think about it with regard to the changes 343 made to CTF, are we sure we even want Assault in the game?
It would be likely to include:
- Automatic bomb pickup if you go near it
- A waypoint over the head of the carrier for all to see
- Either no way to drop it, or some goofy mechanic that lets you lob it to a teammate
- Little to no movement penalty, + likely ability to wield a pistol while carrying
I just said it can be done. Not being able to drop the flag is a terrible issue/blatant oversight with CTF itself.
Good post. I disagree here, though. That's a reason why Assault went downhill. It should have a decent sized circle pending the map side for arming, and for planting, it is in a small center area of the base. Once the meter is full for arming, you plant it and the bomb explodes. Sticky arming while keeping it inside the circle was what made those games so intense and satisfying.
Two flag for 4v4/5v5 should always be the classic style return time, like you pointed out. For 1 flag it did have to vary depending on the side, re: small maps short return time, larger maps 10-15 seconds.
Meh, ideas that won't get scooped and instead be a distant memory.

King of the Hill would be better in 4 since they've gotten rid of ridiculous grenade spam. But still, people liked that playlist in past Halos? Should have been called King of Getting Killed by Slighly Fewer Grenades, am I wrong?

But you still wouldn't have the arm and explode timer (or is it maybe possible to modify CTF in such a way that there could be?).
Plus you won't be able to drop the ''bomb''.

I know I was just joking. I can see GAF complaints along the lines of: "First you couldn't drop the flag, now you can't drop the bomb".

I dunno, not necessarily. Maybe 343 would intentionally make Assault have a slower pace than their version of CTF. They could present the two gametypes as contrasting but similar experiences.
Also, the carrier having standard movement speed is one of the few changes to CTF that actually makes sense. It's pretty necessary if everyone has sprint.

I think we both agree on what we'd like to see, I'm just afraid of what they'd actually do based on what we've seen thus far to other modes.
With that said, posturing aside, I'd probably be tickled to hear that it was making a return no matter what they did with it.
H4 shotgun isn't very recognizable :/

Didn't realize until my playthrough of Halo 2 last month that the ship in the sky on quarantine zone (visible in your screenshot) crashes to the surface. Is this supposed to be a forerunner ship?

I don't know how any multiplayer achievement can be expected to be obtained without boosting. Its literally making them dependent on the actions of other people.Who was looking for the 'splat 5 on anniversary map' achievo?
Go into Classic Anniversary with 8, snipers on Headlong.
