Scans are too blurry to say anything about the graphics but honestly it doesn't look very good.

Ha ha ha, have read some of it and theyre playing the usual "the sky box won't be just that, its gonna have tons of shit happening with it!!" just like with Halo 3.

Hope they don't go back on it AGAIN.

I don't think they went back on that. The skyboxes were gorgeous AND it had "shit happening with it"

Halo 3 ~20
Halo 2 ~10
Halo CE: was similar to Halo 3, unless you tried to do Rocksliders Mega battles, then Who fricken knows.

Keikoku: I'm not sure if there will be a game play video soon, the beta's in 3-4 months otherwise. I'm sure we'll get something before then though.

Article says 40 AI enemies on screen at once, what was the max number that appeared on screen in Halo CE-3?
Certainly not 20 in CE. The biggest number of enemies in Halo 3 probably came during the battle outside the Citadel with two scarabs (I REPEAT: TWO SCARABS). I don't think I could make an educated guess as to how many enemies were in that fight, though.

Wasn't it on The Storm? Right after the broken bridge? You had like 16 guys there, and I believe it's the "largest" encounter in the whole campaign

On page 59 there appears at least to me there are two different animations when aiming. The bottom of the page appears to have the spartan aiming from the hip, and the above animation has him in a higher "iron sight" mode.

I think its more that both are different angles and that in one he's aiming up and in the other he's aiming down.

This. Graphics are good, but nothing WOW worthy to me yet.
Yeah. They obviously need to work on the mountains and stuff to make them smoother. Like that picture of the cliff doesn't look smoothed out at all. It's just a line and then a drop. Everything looks great, but there is still tons of time for the much needed additions and polish. Grass for example... is just a flat texture in some pics.

I said Wow at the pic with the new AR, the helicopter thing, and the Covenant Spirit dropship. So hot and brings back memories of Halo 1.

Currently reading article...

Also: Wort Wort Wort. :D

Um, no. Covenant encounters in Halo 1 were much smaller than Halo 3; smoke and mirrors made them feel bigger than they actually were.

:lol Nice work Squiddy! Maybe we can change it from "Stealth Action Redefined" to "Stealth Action Evolved"?! Smack it right on the Halo:Reach case!

Basically they occured in waves. You take one down another comes in. It was an effective illusion of fighting more than it actually is.

What ranks are there?

Carter - CDR
Jorge - CWO
Kat - LCDR
Emile - WO
Jun - WO

And it actually make sense for these Spartan III's to have charged armor abilities with limited usage. It fit right in between ODST and Spartan II. Sense they use controlled injections for performance boosts and such.

Domino Theory

Crystal Dynamics
I'd just like to give a big thank you to Marty and his Audio team for hearing our cries of weapons sounding too weak and completely revamping them for Reach. :D

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?

Chief Warrant Officer
Lieutenant commander

...I think.

Can't wait for the "Fix the DRM" complaints.

Can someone summarize what it says about the new enemy type(pg 56)? Those werewolf bird looking things?

They're called Skirmishers and are described as "cousins to the Jackal". They attack in packs and flank their targets.

Oh come on. Every race in Halo attacks in packs and flanks their targets

Seriously though, you are never going to like Halo, or have any positive things to say about it. That's fine, I understand it's personal opinion but you have trolled in every Halo thread there is. It's getting all too predictable.

... and taste gamey as compared to their Jackal cousins, who taste like Emu.

No offense, but don't you have something better to do? You've bitched enough, we get it.

New guns, armor abilities, stealth, yadda yadda yadda... who cares?
Let's talk about the important stuff! That Grunt image is kinda crazy!
I hope all of my do--... ACTION FIGURES didn't suddenly become outdated.

The article did state 16 players max.
Nah, they said Bungie had indicated "feature parity" with Halo 3 MP, and they extrapolated from there.

Though I'll be very surprised if it's not 16 players.

There's hardly any info about multiplayer in the article but here are some things that really should be fixed in Reach following Halo 3:

- Spawn system

The spawn system in Halo 3 is complete crap. It's easily the worst spawn system that has ever appeared in a competitive multiplayer game. People often spawn in the middle of:

- Grenades going off
- Power drainers going off
- In front of an entire enemy team
- In front of vehicles speeding by for instant splatters

That shit doesn't happen every once in a while but rather it's a fucking common occurence in every game. I've often had teamates spawn nearby me as I'm crouch walking towards an enemy thus giving up enemy location on their radar. I've once even spawned in front of a teamate as they took a shot with the sniper rifle. The game will also begin to spawn people outside of the base on Valhalla and Standoff as they're getting raped. Beginning of the game? It spawns people inside and on top of their base. As they're getting raped? Oh, the game decides to spawn people outside. Does that make any fucking sense to anyone? The fact that this spawn system made its way into Halo 3 is inexcusable.

- Vehicles are too fucking strong

I didn't have any problem with the vehicles in a Halo 2 but in Halo 3 they're nearly indestructible and overpowered. I've seen warthogs get naded, fly through the air and do a 2880 degree move across the map, land on two fucking wheels on its side, get naded again and do a 720 degree move only to get destroyed when by some miracle it lands upside down and gets naded again. What the fuck is that? They also deal way too much damage. I understand that a vehicle's weapon should deal more damage than a firearm but they're a real fucking nuisance in a Halo 3 when the spawn system is such shit and player movement is so damn slow. Vehicles can dominate a team on Standoff in Halo 3 quickly and easily. The Spartan Laser isn't a solution when the dominant team makes it impossible for the other team to get it when there is a warthog constantly circling their side of the map.

- Weapon drops need to be addressed

It's nice to see that they're not going to have as many grenade types in the game, but I'd would also like to see them do something about the amount of grenades that fall to the floor after someone dies. I'm not sure how they could handle grenade drops considering they've been important to Halo gameplay, but the grenade spam in Halo 3 is ridiculous. There is a fucking constant barrage of grenades flying through the air in smaller maps like Construct. They also need to something about shitty weapon drops. It's bad enough to get AR starts on a map, but what's the fucking point of having players drop pistols after they die? No one is going to pick one up 99% of the time. I've often been killed on maps like Construct because I'm spending time trying to get a fucking BR equip prompt to appear on my HUD because the fucking floor is covered in pistols people have dropped after dying. That shit sucks.

- BR vs AR

I'm not going to really get into this argument as anyone who prefers the AR must either get off arguing about it or they're clearly stupid. What I don't understand though is the logic behind giving pistols as a secondary for AR starts and then giving people ARs for BR starts. I don't understand that.

- Glitches

One of the good things Bungie did with Halo 3 is that they're aren't nearly as many glitches in the game as there were in Halo 2. I haven't haven't seen people flying through the air with swords or doing any of the weird Halo 2 stuff. I have noticed though that sometimes I will see a BR at its spawn location and as soon as I pick it up like nearly all the ammo has been used up. What is that about?

Have anyone else noticed the blurred-out text in the large screenshot on page 3-4? Wonder what they're hiding... sneaky Bungie

- Bungie have once again made the Covenant more dangerous and frightening, as they were in Halo 1.

- Covenant soldiers no longer speak English, they speak in their own languages.

- Graphics have been improved drastically, as proven by in-magazine comparisons.

- Elites are back, and are more ferocious than ever.

- Larger scale combat will be in Reach. Where only 20 AI at a time could be on screen in Halo 3, now over 40 AI and 20 vehicles can be present at a time.

- Scenes are more cinematic.

- Health Bar is back along with energy shield.

- Single shot rifle like the Halo 2 E3 demo is in the game, named the Designated Marksman Rifle (DRM)

- Sniper, AR and Magnum make a return. Gun sounds are more realistic.

- Fully stealthy gameplay is now possible.

- Assassinations are possible with a knife by holding down the melee button.

- Sprinting is now possible through an equipment like mechanic.

These things have me cautiously optimistic. It seems Bungie is finally starting to "get it".

Can't wait to get my hands on this game and try it out for myself.

That is a result of someone with low ammo walking by and picking up the ammo that is in the weapon on the ground. If there is more than 0 ammo left in the gun, it can still be picked up.

That is what you were experiencing, and it's not a glitch.
