I think it would be very interesting if the effect that camo had on the radar was very minimal when crouching slowly... It would be un nerving to look at the radar and actually have to pay attention to see if it is being jammed. Rather then the obvious crazy red dots everywhere.InvincibleAgent said:Maybe the effect on radar is less obvious if you're standing still/crouching?

You don't have to play as an Elite in MP if you don't play in the playlists that warrant it. (also IF there is ever an Elite vs Elite Arena playlist, it will be separate and in addition to the core Spartan vs. Spartan offering)

Fall Damage was confirmed a few days ago... Not quite Halo 1 fall damage, but it certainly is in.Scullibundo said:So wait, reading those comments regarding the jetpack...have we now got fall damage back? .

Correct.2 Minutes Turkish said:So if the Elites are so much better, why wouldn't you just always play as an Elite?
Or do we not have that option anymore?
It is no longer an option... It is a forced game attribute.2 Minutes Turkish said:Can I ask why everyone wouldn't just play as an Elite since they're bigger, faster, stronger and have better shield regeneration?
Is this an obvious elephant in the room, or am I just missing something?

You won't get to choose. If you want to play as an elite, you have to go into special playlists that include elites, the invasion playlist for example, that is probably round based, first round you attack as elite, the next one you defend as human, and so on (just guessing, we know nothing about this yet). Regular gametypes/playlists will always be human vs human, or if labeled so, elite vs elite.2 Minutes Turkish said:So if the Elites are so much better, why wouldn't you just always play as an Elite?

In the podcast they mentioned throwing the grenades further if you do it while sprinting. Maybe melee during sprint works too. Both will probably bring you down to regular speed right after, but still use the momentum.Scullibundo said:Also kinda disappointed that it seems you can't at least melee whilst running. All that momentum gone to waste.
Thanks, that's awesome. And so are you.ManCannon said:Couple o' random things:

By default you will not drop your armor ablities for someone else to pick up. (perhaps it ends up being a toggle for custom variants... maybe, not certain yet)
Elite's don't only Evade but it is their racial speciality. They can also fly, camo, etc.. (like Sprint for Spartans)
I've heard of Josh using the Camo pretty effectively to defend a flag recently. Was crouched motionless, totally invisible, assassinated opponent who unknowingly grabbed the flag. Became hero.
When you exit Armor Lock you get a very temporary lingering overshield state that protects you ever so slightly. Otherwise you're out at the same state you went in (but likely your shields recharged during the lock, depending on timing).

Single most interesting tidbit in there. For others, it might mean that as the game goes on, youll have access to more and more choices based on a number of factors we can fiddle with.
How many people? Is the armor locker one of those people? If not, can you get fall damage while in armor lock?urk said:People die.

We haven't had any Bungie folks grace us with Customs visits for some time. Can't blame them either, with all the Reach playtesting. =\
I hope it'll be like 3 where the speed and jump with which you go off the cannon changes your path just a bit.Bungieware said:Any ideas onto how sprinting and rolling are affected by mancannons, seeing as mancannons are physics based... so what happens if i land on a mancannon mid roll.
If armor locks in a mysterious gorge and nobody else is around to hear it, does it make a sound?InvincibleAgent said:How many people? Is the armor locker one of those people? If not, can you get fall damage while in armor lock?
What if someone armor locks off an edge... :lol

I always take summer courses. Summer's the best time for going to school and using the rec center without having to change clothes :lolNatakuu said:You're alone on that one, I try to avoid taking summer courses:lol

Another valid reason to take them, though probably not nearly as good as InvincibleAgent's...CrazedArabMan said:I had to if I wanted to get into my major next year.
That would be the Grifball Naught map variant I believeGame2Death said:Can I post Halo 3 stuff here? Well i guess i will...
So I was playing double exp grifball today and the weirdest thing happened. At the beginning of each round there would be no floor in the center so we all had to wait on our own little pad till it loaded in. It was so odd.
Funny to people suiciding and others dying trying to time the floor loading in as soon as they would land. :lol
Good to hear, good to know. And the Assault Rifle? Its your go to rifle at close to mid range. Youll definitely want to feather the trigger to take down shields and make your assault as personal as possible, just like you did in Halo 3, even though it's been tuned a little to favor accuracy over straight up aggression.
Ultimately the choice between the Assault Rifle and the Magnum may come down to personal preference, play style, and the situation you happen to find yourself in. Its nuanced.
I've heard of that. I think it happens on a specific map.Game2Death said:Can I post Halo 3 stuff here? Well i guess i will...
