Halo: The Master Chief Collection is STILL broken after 100 days

Considering I bought my Xbone before that date but was a good boy and put it under my tree it sucks I don't meet the imaginary criteria. Especially when I've barely played it because its crap.

Halo: The Known Shippable Collection, more like.

Same here. I bought 2 copies of MCC a week after launch as a Christmas gift to myself and brother. So I waited to open it then. I guess fuck me for buying 2 copies and not playing before that date. And guess what, the game is so shit, neither my brother or I have been able to play. We have played 2 games total since. Game is such garbage.

You both obviously do not deserve ODST for free.

Getting into matches isn't much of a problem anymore... but just about everything else is still at unacceptable levels.

Ranks still completely broken and only in 1 (bad) playlist, No dedis, netcode issues, drop outs, piss poor gametype selection, ect, ect, ect...

Also people in the H2A playlist... stop voting for slayer. Learn to play objective gametypes.

they are not going to bundle Halo 5.

Yeah they will. They'll most likely even have a special console for Halo 5. Look at Halo 3, Reach and Halo 4. Their own special edition consoles. If MS can give Advanced Warfare and Sunset Overdrive a special bundle, they'll definitely do it for Halo 5 later this year.

Tried to play again, the experience is no different to when I last tried weeks ago.

It crushes me that it still doesn't work, even if it does ever work, the moment that we were all looking foward to of everyone buying an Xbox One and playing Halo MCC together is long gone :(

I bought this other day just for single player.

The frame-rate in Halo Anniversary isn't soo good. On the second mission I was getting a lot of chop.

This really is a lost cause.
I would love it if I clicked this thread and it was all fixed, but TBH, I can't ever see that happening.

You gotta figure there's got to come a point where working on this game's bugs risks shipping Halo 5 in time and they just throw their hands in the air and give up on it.

Well they also said you can have the choice, with or without sprint, so does that change the tirade?

Without key standards important as this, will not lead the title to become a main competitive game in circuits.

Yes, Campaign bugs are being addressed in tandem. As are certain perf and controller issues and more.

Can 343 at least fix the 5 v 5 in the Halo 2 Anniversary playlist? Like seriously, 5v5 ruins the gameplay of a lot of maps e.g., 5 v 5 on Lockout is way too many players. This should not be explained or demanded by fans, 4 v 4 is Halo.

Why does it need to take months for 343 to fix something as essential to Halo as this? 4 versus 4.

I think most Halo MCC owners have the 343 perception that the game is Halo but a messed up not right Halo similar to 4.

Don't do it at all if it can't be done right.

I approve of this sentiment 1,000%. Why bother going through the trouble of bringing the games together and remastering H2 when the actual overall package is a steaming pile? Before this release I had played over 10,000 games of competitive Halo. Since this came out I've played less than 100 easily (not counting the hundreds I played of H5beta that actually functioned as it should for the most part). I would have been happier with a dedicated H2 remaster with campaign and MP redone entirely and adding 4 player coop on dedicated servers instead of the horrid lock-step abomination that we got.

Wait, there are issues on the campaign as well? :/ Bummer. I'm not into multiplayer so I figured I could still buy the game for the campaign and have no issues.

I think I've been relatively lucky. Playing solo I've basically had ZERO issues in SP. Co op hasn't been as reliable. My achievements seem to be unlocking properly at least.

Multiplayer seems more stable but I think there's so few people playing that most playlists come up with nothing.

Also Frank, why in gods name is SWAT gone? Its the only mode worth a damn and its removed? Wtf.

People who played the game on 12-20 and onward haven't exactly had a pleasant experience, or do you want to dispute that?

While there's been issues the whole way along, the difference pre mid December and post mid December is night and day. Almost literally.

Having said that ODST should just be free for everyone regardless.

Wait, i didnt really follow this disaster in detail but i always thought that at least the campaign worked. The fucking campaign is bugged too?

Has been since launch. Super bugged. Not saving progress right, or outright deleting it. Still suffers from that weird button delay glitch from last gen, graphical inconsistencies to their original counterparts, all sorts of stuff.

campaigns are fairly fine and functional

Not really.

H:CE:

- Anti-aim reticle bug. Probably the worst individual bug across the collection. I've never heard of an FPS that pushes your aimer away from the opponent. Happens frequently. Completely puts you off playing the game when it happens.

- Zoom audio is completely absent.

H2 Classic:

- Netcode problem acknowledged by 343 in which the BR and Sniper do not register beyond mid range. Puts you off playing the game

- More a philosophical problem than a functional one but SMG starts pervade the game, even in BTB and even though the games' creators Bungie admitted themselves that SMG starts were a mistake. Like reinstating old problems after they've been fixed

H3:

- Audio directionality is borked. Affects the game more than one might think.

- Forge mode is completely missing aspects that allowed modes such as grifball to be made possible. The reason why Halo 3 has not appeared in SWAT or Team Snipers, and also the reason why the maps are all in their 2007 launch state even though Bungie altered and/or patched them in the original.

- Theatre mode has a glitch where if you forward all the way to the end of a clip, you cannot rewind it

- As in Halo 2, AR starts are everywhere and form the majority of voting options. All KOTH and Bomb variants of BTB and all 4v4 variants of objective are exclusively Assault Rifle starts even though Bungie had BR starts across the board in these modes.

H4:

-Don't care.

Universal problem - The File Share browser doesn't work so classic, community made maps and gametypes cannot be shared. The only way to grab something from a fileshare is to have the person with the file on your friends list or have recently played them in MM. Compare this to H3 where you could download any file off of B.net or Reach and Halo 4 where you can simply search in-game.

Two other posts of mine which encapsulate the hair tearing frustration of playing the MCC

WARNING MULTIPLE GIFS IN THIS ONE - http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=148393016&postcount=3221

Wow. I never had the anti-aim bug in CE, and because multiplayer was such a shit show I gave up on it outside of boosting the achievements to get them over with. So I didn't experience the wide variety of annoyances you did. Thanks for the info though so I'll know what to watch for if I ever go back.

Have Microsoft shut down their azure centres? Because today it is nothing but migrating hosts and laggy as fuck matches.. I just had to boot up titanfall to make sure that they are working.

This game is a fucking disaster of biblical proportions.

Hopefully they do a good pc port eventually . Got really tired of not getting into matches.

By fairly functional, I meant you can play them. From start to finish. You may encounter an issue here or there, but the single player is much, much, much closer to stable than the multiplayer.

We're almost done with Feb, cant wait for the blog post saying that its not coming in feb anymore and its dated for sometime in march. Probably something along the lines of "We are working hard and are almost done with the next update focusing on matchmaking, party issues, and other bugs. Here is a look at Relic. HCS bullshit. See ya"

People who worked on this downgrade should be embarrassed by it.

And whomever decided it was worth shipping it in this state needs to be fired. I presume that would be someone high up the chain.

Because that's ridiculous to delay the biggest release of the XB1, what might be the turning point in the US market, for a game that will hardly sell any more copies.

Yeah, Halo 5 will sadly still sell well after this display of incompetence. They'll quietly step away from the MCC after one final patch that does nothing.

Yea... this was a missed opportunity. It really would've done a lot for the Xbox brand had it been 100% functional on launch day.

I bought an Xbox One specifically for this game collection. Ultimately, I blame myself for not waiting for feedback on the MCC before making the purchase. But rest assure, if there's an option for games hereon between XONE/PS4, I will be getting it on PlayStation.

A word of advice to those wanting at least some minor help in making the MCC a better experience:

Turn off instant on in the system settings.

This game has some real issues with instant on. I'm not a tech guy, but I assume it has something to do with suspend/resume and the console's cache.

Turning off instant-on makes the console hard reset every time you turn it off/on.

I've not only had benefits across the entire console, but a substantial improvement in how the MCC functions.

It helped a lot for me and I hope it helps anyone else that tries.

Instant on has given my Xbox One problems since day one. I don't use it at all

One of the biggest problems is that the Party app on the Xbox One was only working for our group of friends about only 50% of the time-someone had to restart their app multiple times, or even power cycle their XBONE in order to hear/talk to others in the party. The recent system update seems to have alleviated most of the problems in this regard, but for two months we couldn't even get party working correctly.
