I got into a few Halo 3 matches pretty quickly last night. I haven't tried since.

I feel for you guys that can't. Stand strong. It will be fixed soon I bet.

F@#%ing Really!?!

It couldn't be that, oh I don't know, some of us just really damn like Halo? That some of us like BOTH multi and campaign? That we know there are issues here but that for many of us they don't OUTRIGHT PREVENT us from playing the bits of this package we want?

God... why do I even bother sometimes?

I think his comment was targeting people that are denying there are issues. People like VinFTW.
Any updates from 343 today?

I think Frankie said that they were "Laser-focused" on fixing the issues. They weren't laser-focused about fixing before the game came out and they started taking peoples money, but don't worry. They are laser focused now. lmao

So you're going to refund a game that you're not listening to the instructions on how to play while the team builds a patch and then you won't ever buy another one of their products again?

That's pretty stupid.

I'm probably going to look into a refund as well Mix. Shit is too broken right now. Debating whether to just go to EbGames, give my game and get store credit back. Maybe rebuy it in December if beta works, or if it's still broken like this, maybe rebuy in 6 months or something.

I love Halo. I play campaign and multiplayer. Both are fucked for me.

see, if you're going to be buying it again then why return it? that's a waste of money IMO

I love Halo too, but as a big consumer advocate, the fact that anyone has patience for this situation is why developers can get away releasing broken shit like this. You should have no patience for this stunning lack of quality.

I get full store credit back. So I can rebuy it anytime. Maybe it'll be cheaper 3 months from now as more trade in or ask for refunds, maybe not. I'm not losing anything but delaying the purchase again I guess, and it also sends a strong message to retailers and devs that people will return your broken games these days.

I gotchya man. just a bummer to see so many people not wanting to try. I'd say give it another week then go from there.

To people contemplating returning it, only to buy it again later...why? You're just costing yourself money. Say, on average, you spent $60, you get $40 on a trade-in (which is probably the highest you'll get) then re-buy later at say, $30. You spent $90 to get $40 in trade-in..? It's your choice, you can do what you want, just saying from a financial standpoint, it's kind of pointless, unless you just really need the money now to play a game that actually works right now.

But, this is Halo. It'll get fixed. I know nothing 343i is saying (or not saying) right now really reassures that notion, but this is not a franchise they can just leave DOA. With the backlash the Halo 5 MP is already getting, they have to protect the brand more than ever.

EDIT: Unless you get a full refund/full credit of course, then it makes complete sense.

The people in this thread trying to apologize for 343 and this disaster of a game launch are really, really sad. Don't worry guys, the developers are big boys, they can speak for themselves. And I'm sure they will release a statement any day now about the rest of the bugs and missing features. Any day now...

But giving it a week may be past some stores return policies? IF it's fixed in a week then people can go buy it again and it's no sweat off your back, right?

See you edited it, but yeah some stores will give full refunds.

Is there really an argument happening right now where the chosen few claim that because their shit works, everyone else is doing something wrong?

I remember a similar issue, where the 10% of people who owned working launch 360s claimed the other 90% with RRoD's didn't know how to care for their console.

The game is a freaking mess. Kudos to those of you who can get it to work. The large majority of us can't, even following the hilarious "instructions" dance given to us by 343.

100% success rate for me so far.

EDIT: 50% Success Rate now :(

Only 1 game mind you, Team Slayer, Halo 2 Classic, took ~2 minutes to find players.

Currently searching for a Team Halo 2: Anniversary game. Been about 2 minutes now.

Ended up finding one game last night in matchmaking. 3v3 neutral assault. It was pretty fun and I wanted more, but couldn't find anything after that. :(

I'm with you about any other product or video game service... EXCEPT Halo.

It's the one video game series I always find myself crawling back to. And I always envisioned this game from a "long-haul" perspective from the get go as well. A game I could fall back to anytime I felt like it even YEARS down the road. It's got arguably the greatest "core" of a game amongst all games on the market right now.

I anticipated multiplayer launch issues, but not to the extent we've seen. So yeah I'm disappointed compared to my expectations a week ago. But, and maybe perhaps to a fault, I have patience enough that this will be worked out--it may take a week or a month or two to do so, but I can wait it out. Halo's been in my blood for over a decade, so I'm definitely capable of waiting on this one... and I think anyone else that does will find themselves greatly rewarded.

All that said, I still definitely think 343i should make a goodwill offering of some sort once this all has been mostly ironed out.

I couldn't agree more.

Remember when people claimed the online part of driveclub worked for them and thereby was working?

Full achievement walkthrough is now published on TrueAchievements.com

Halo:TheMasterChiefCollection Walkthrough

Still tweaking a few bits here and there, and obviously the LASO page is incomplete (for now). But overall it's 99% complete other than me remaking some of the videos in a more uniform format.

I hope it helps a few people! Also would be great if I could have the honor of having the walkthrough linked in the OP.

To be fair, there were people who took shitty care of their 360s too.

I just want my achievement to unlock. ;_;

Other than that, I've been fine finding team slayer matches. The problem is that I keep being set up with the SAME people kicking my ass.

Math is hard? That's still a -$50 scenario trading in versus a -$60 scenario keeping it...

They're going for a full refund, which I completely support... It's the buying it again later when it works statements that perplex me.

If they want to send a message, make a statement that these shitty launch-before-finished practices will not be tolerated, I applaud them. I won't be joining them, cause I'm not strong enough to resist Halo, but they've got my support.

It's when they say that they will rebuy it when it does work that screams, "Oh maybe this shit will be tolerated after all." Making the whole exercise a useless gesture.

And don't play the "I'll buy it used!" card. That's getting off on a technicality. That's standing behind, but kind of on the side of your convictions. Either swear of MCC forever, or wait it out with the rest of us, imo.

Of course, perhaps people just want a working product at the time that they own it, and not to send a statement or "stand behind their convictions".

Simple, no? Your "either/or" statement makes no sense.

Halo 3 has a lot of bloom due to the new lighting, it looks really nice, but at the same time, weird and a little distracting. I'll have to get used to that.

You know what also gets to me? Why people care what others do with their own time or money. Relax. It send a huge message to the store to have to process refunds on pre-ordered games. Who's to say the game won't be cheaper 1 month from now? What about 3 months? Do they even have any way of knowing someone will rebuy? No, it just shows up as a refund to them and something they hate. Ask any gamestop employee how much they hate having a preorder cancelled, now ask them how much they'd hate not only losing a preorder that was paid for, but refunding in terms of money or store credit.

Its not about making any kind of gesture. It's about getting your money back on a product that clearly broken right now, maybe rebuying it when it works, maybe not.

If they're really that hard up for $60, then sure absolutely. I can't relate, but I can understand.

still laggy, have to hold X for like a second to pick up weapons, grenade throws take a second. went 10-7 real bad. Back to campaign i go.

Not to mention IF it ever gets fixed. There's still a chance that not all of the bugs will be ironed out. It makes sense to buy the game when it is in acceptable condition to the person buying.
