It appears to be slightly better today.
Matchmaking is about 30% where it should be now. At launch it was 10%.
Still have to wait 3-4 minutes to get a match and they're uneven and people get dropped/their game freezes all the time.

I've had that randomly happen ever so often since launch, I don't think it means shit right now.

You can't return an opened game to brick and mortar stores and MS won't help you if you didn't buy digitally so no we can't.
People bringing up myriads of problems that they are experiencing in a $60 game is "shoving shit down your throat"?
Just because you are apparently having no issues (doubtful), you want everyone else to sing praises of the broken game?

I wasn't talking to "people", I was responding to ONE, individual user who thought sitting in the lobby for 15 mins would make it work.

I don't think you know how opinions work. The game is broken. That is a fact. Everyone has the same copy of the game on their xbox. Just because you somehow got lucky and didn't have problems that doesn't mean it's your "opinion" that the game is working fine. That's like saying it's your opinion that 2+2=5645.

Anyone denying this is crazy. I haven't gotten in a single MP match. I did the things suggested and nada. And the single player in co op runs pretty terribly.
I get people love halo but this was such a rushed release its not even funny.
That being said I'm holding out and gonna keep persisting just as I did with driveclub. But it's still aggravating

I have been able to play the campaign with 0 issues. MP is buggy but it is not 100% down.
To me that is not broken. To me that is bugs and kinks.
You can enjoy what's there if you want, but denying that it's broken is completely idiotic.
I was playing campaign on legendary. When I paused the game, it froze and I had to restart. I restarted the mission and then the same thing happened again. How is that not broken? Many other people are having the same problem.
Tried a few that were out there: exiting/re-entering matchmaking and restarting the console entirely, checking NAT on router, etc. and still nothing.
Regardless, I shouldn't need to jump through hoops to get one of the game's basic components to work. I can understand a day or two of crappy online. Not 4, especially if multiplayer is worth half of the $60 I paid for it.
To me, this is pretty much the Microsoft equivalent of Sony's DriveClub mess, though I have no doubts 343 will fix the issues very soon - they just didn't do it soon enough.

I didn't get to experience for the first time Halo 1 and Halo 2 on legendary with my brother. I won't get to experience Halo 3 and Halo 4 (his first time playing those games) on co-op with my brother.
I haven't been having a blast in customs and playing H2A and TS playlists past few days at all.

No one is giving you shit because you seem to have a completely different game than the rest of us that seems to be functioning correctly. I'm giving you shit because you had the audacity to blame him for "doing it wrong" in a game that has severe issues. Guess what? I have a full-time job. My gaming time is very previous these days. I don't have time to set a timer for how long I've been in a lobby and back out every three minutes, hoping I can play one game within a 60-minute stretch.
If this game is so perfect, why has the game's fucking executive producer come out and personally apologized to everybody for the experience? Dan Ayoub isn't going to do that if the majority of people are having your experience.
Just because you're lucky and it's working for you, doesn't make it any less of a fact that this game has serious issues.

Going off personal experience with the game. About 9hrs in the campaign I have had 0 crashes(only issue was once I fell through the world.But this also happened to me once back in the OG xbox). I have put one in standby came back no issue, paused no issue.

So for people who can't get matchmaking to work, do you also have trouble getting to halowaypoint.com?
Which I validate by saying people can gladly try to get a refund or whatever other solution, but it feels like everybody is looked down upon if you are enjoying the game.
343 is also saying it is broken... I'm not sure that we should listen to you over the developers and the overwhelming majority that has been having major issues with the multiplayer since launch.

You can find PLENY of people online that have had the same problems. Just because it works for you, that doesn't mean it's not broken.
I don't know where you're getting that from. There's people in this thread that are willing to tolerate the bugs just to experience the game. If you deny that something that is broken is not broken just because it works for you, they are going to look down on you.

Have you tried co-op? The game turns into a slideshow quite regularly for me. Aside from the delay and lag every now and again
We have also encountered game breaking bugs and at one point it even scared me from starting the game in fears it would kill my xbox

"OMG IT'S LIKE YOU DIDN'T EVEN READ FRANKIE'S INSTRUCTIONS NO WONDER YOUR GAME IS BROKE LOL". That is why you're getting shit right now. If you had piped in and said, "Oh man, that sucks. The game is working fine for me, but that sucks you're going through that. Hopefully it'll work for you at some point but if not, I'd totally understand why you want your money back," you wouldn't be getting mobbed right now. But instead, you decided to say what essentially translates to, "WOW YOU CAN'T EVEN READ INSTRUCTIONS THE GAME WOULD WORK IF YOU COULD FOLLOW DIRECTIONS".

Game is a broken mess. Been waiting 5 mins for matches, back out and restart. Get one in a period of 30 mins, a lopsided match that then froze the game on me after it ended.

I've been finding games faster now and the main issue is actually making parties. We spent an hour last night just trying to get three people in one place and staying in one place.
After every game it dissolves the party and the game constantly locks up in various ways when trying to join other people.
This is what they need to fix asap as it is not acceptable the amount of time this is wasting. At least with matchmaking you can sit there and do something else while it searches but this wastes so much time.

Just because, for some miracle, the game is working for you it doesnt mean its not broken.
There are tons of problems:
-Bugs about party creations.
-The obvious matchmaking access issues that is affecting probably 90% of the players.
-People losing their SP campaing save files.
-Crashing issues.
-Uneven matches all the time.
-In my case, missions that I havent finished on solo marked as concluded in certain difficulties.
-Achievements problems.
-And the lis goes on!!
It is broken! Its far, but FAR, from acceptable, specially the matchmaking stuff. If to get a match you need to do some tricks and still does have dofficulties to access it, and when you do, it gives you other problems, there is no better word to define it but "broken"!
I am loving to play the campaing at solo and co-op. Thats the only reason that Im not completely fristrated. But Im having a bunch of issues and the matchmaking, probably this game biggest factor, is barely working here.
So if anyone here is making stuff up, that is you. Not the majority of players who indeed are having problems with the game.

It seems like every time I open this thread to see if things have improved, people are arguing whether the game is broken or not. Maybe instead of using the word broken, we should all say it is dysfunctional instead. Because while it is clearly possible to get into matchmade games, matchmaking is obviously not working properly or as it is intended to.

I was actually expecting to return home from work to see all the issues disappear.. they actually seem to have gotten worse since last night :c

You're not being looked down upon because you're having a good experience, you're being looked down upon because you're looking down upon those having a bad experience.
I mean, you just mocked someone for having difficulties due to using the game's interface as designed. Informing people of alternatives is fine, "It's almost like you didn't pay attention to any of the advice on matchmaking. No wonder you barely found any games." is just sort of rude and dismissive.

Nice hive mind you're going up against here. I'm partially in agreement with you. The MM is unreliable at best, but it will be fixed. In the mean time there's plenty of functional content to enjoy.
In the end, however, this was not the quality, finished product we were promised. To that end, maybe they should have pushed the release back by a month. Personally? I don't mind having an unfinished game to hold me over until everything is 100%, even if it does sort of feel like I'm playing a $60 beta.
Thank God Kojima won't allow the Phantom Pain to release broken.

Oh god this reminds me of halo 3s veto system. I think was that even in a tie that top map/gametype was picked. Needs to be either like that mario kart one i just read or something that decides ties better.
