Yeah, I'm willing to fight through a few more minor bugs if the primary match making issues are fixed and its easy to jump back into games. At least I don't see crashes anymore after games end.

I can only imagine how much is sucks to work on a AAA title during crunch time. Probably takes off 10 years of your life.

I couldn't believe that the Awoken Female Guardian (my first character) was voiced by Grey Delisle... or that the Archive A.I. was Jen Taylor. My gut says we'll finally see (mostly) even player matches and improved search times, but that there will still be various bugs and hiccups. And this is coming from an optimistic person who LOVES Halo, lol.

At this point I would be very happy to just get into matches in 30 seconds and be able to join parties easily. 5v4s etc I can cope with for a while.
It's the search times that really ruin the experience for me personally.

This is what bugs me the most. Matchmaking issues are what they are but I've lost huge chunks of time replaying campaign levels because the game isn't saving them. The fact that the game is having basic problems like saving campaign progress is so unacceptable
That and team sizes and I would be okay with it.
But also there are many issues, like the fact that a lot of games are on p2p
When it's on p2p people have been host booting and cheating.

Halo 3 weirdly enough, doesn't feel like halo 3 and I don't get why.
I have been one of the fortunate ones to be able to get into some matches fairly consistently (within 2-3 minutes).
I am also one of the unfortunate ones in that I really am not good. Too much COD and Titanfall since Halo 3 came out. Oh well, I am having fun, even when going 5 and 12 in H2 Classic. I am doing slightly better (like 5-11 slightly) in H3.
I hope the patch fixes multiplayer and they can get some skill ranking in so that I am not always getting motored.

I'm at a point where I think they should seriously consider contracting Blur Studios to do an entirely CGI movie. That way, they could actually use most, if not all of the original voice actors as well to keep it as authentic to the source material as possible.
I didn't think Halo Nightfall looked that cheap and I honestly didn't think it was that bad.
I'm more confused by
how one of the chunks of the original Halo managed to warp a good chunk of the way across the galaxy when most of the debris from Halo were still in their original system at the start of Halo 2

Has 343 given any indication as to what kind of improvements Wednesday's patch should bring? I believe they said it had been tested and is now in for certification. Is this supposed to be a solution to the issue, or another band aid to improve things while they continue to work on it?

Yup, sure. There are many things that need to be fixed. But honestly, having to wait from 2 to 15 minutes (or even more) to find a match and face other problems is just unacceptable. If they fix the waiting issue, so you could find matches almost instantaneously, most of the frustration is already lowered and then they can focus on these other problems.
But this need to be on a waiting list, turn things unplayable for me. I dont have that much time to play, and when I do I dont want to waste that on a waiting list. So 343 better fix that with their next patch, or many people in conditions similar to mine, wont be there waiting for a fix or a match anymore.

Does anyone know if you can start different cross game playlists and keep progress or do you have to play through the one you started first?
Now for your second, I can't say. I was too afraid to try. However, you can have a separate playlist and Campaign going at the same time. I was forced to do this over the weekend, as my Halo: CE Legendary playlist completely skipped me over the 343 Guilty Spark level. I was able to run through it on Campaign without issue.
I'd like to ask someone at 343 why they even allow games to start with an odd number of players. Since an overwhelming majority of Halo matches are team based games, common sense should dictate that matchmaking should check to see if an even number of players are in a lobby before starting a game.
People are aware of the issues but I don't think it's hurt sales too badly. To be honest, most of the people I've talked to in person about the MCC issues seem to be quite patient and understand that fixes are coming.

This may be an obvious question, but how do I continue a campaign I've started? I played an hour or so of Halo 2 the other day and wanted to continue today. However, I only have the options to "Quick Start" or selection "Missions". How do I continue from the last checkpoint I left off at?
Microsoft lucked out in that the people who were going to buy this game were probably going to buy it anyway. On the flip side, you're screwing your most loyal customers...
When you quit are you doing "Save & Quit" from the menu or just exiting the game from the XB1 dashboard?

You know... come to think of it, from what I recall, I left the game running for 10 mins to take a phone call, and when I came back it had crashed. Guess unless I "Save & Quit" it won't log it?
Yeah, checkpoints aren't hard saves.

Yep. Halo 2 saving is occasionally busted. Some saves work. Some do not. Just to be sure don't quit mid level, or just don't turn off your xbox, but it into suspend. Halo CE, and Halo 3 saves seem to work fine and return you to the checkpoints you saved at. I haven't yet tried Halo 4.
There is something wrong with the party code inside the whole MCC. When trying to look at theatre stuff from Halo 3, I kept getting "Cannot enter theatre mode with multiple users." If the code for that is completely busted, then that explain a lot of the matchmaking/party problems too.
I saw one for Halo 4 MCC last night. Couldn't give the name though.
Found it. Lone Wolf Legend. Got it on the 360 version but minus the Prometheans Halo 4 legendary is pretty easy.
Also if you're lucky (and they didnt fix it) apparently there was a glitch in the 360 halo 4 where you only had to complete the levels from the final checkpoint on legendary solo to get the achievement.
yeah it took me 4-5 attempts but by those last couple it was second nature.
I will say the one time it appeared, I got a checkpoint turning the corner right before going into the room. So that might be what spawns it.
Second part....... I don't want to risk losing progress in the Master Chief Saga. Will do more research.
yeah that glitch was awesome. Used it to save time.

If in the future I do "Save and Quit" will I get a Continue option on the main screen?
The game was shipped unfinished. I've never seen such an unstable product for a big AAA franchise. There is no way that this was unknown when shipped. It's obvious that QA caught this stuff months and months before shipping, but they went ahead and shipped it anyway.
I don't understand why the backlash isn't bigger about this. By the time they fix this, the playerbase will have moved to another title.

Ive done it twice on Halo CE and it doesnt disconnected the co-op partners.

Finding it hard at times to get a match with a party of two. Go lone wolf and end up finding a match quickly.
