To keep correct aspect ratio and save the CPU. CE gets a hefty field of view increase in split-screen mode.
Edit: Looooooool. Nightfall second stories are only viewable in French(?) on the Xbox Halo Channel in the UK. They'll play in English here though the windows app though.

Whelp, that was a lesson in frustration (and boredom). Spent over an hour and a half tonight trying to get into a match and nothing. Multiple playlists, multiple times. Did not even find a single person, let alone a match. Man, the Wednesday update better fix the Matchmaking.

Is anyone having issues playing games still? I have had a really easy time finding games since I started following the steps Waypoint suggested. Reply to this if you are.

I wonder if the new patch will fix the campaign crashing bug, and loss of progress. Just did "Forerunner" & "Infinity" on Legendary. Got the "Untracked Build" crash when the next mission loaded up, and I don't have my Legendary icon for doing it solo on either mission. It saved my leaderboard score though, couldn't a patch technically look up that score record and apply the completion icon to those missions?

Got into a couple of matches earlier pretty easily earlier, seems to be getting better for me although I've not played it a whole lot admittedly.

Here's a few things that have helped me...
.start out in custom game lobby, then switch to MM. I think the main issue has to do with the UI, and for some reason starting out in a custom game lobby increase match likelihood.
. Make sure it says "in lobby" above your playercard
. Back out after 3-4 minutes if you don't find a game.

I never implied that it was acceptable but I have found a ton of games doing this.

If i wasnt having so much fun with SOdrive and Forza 2 with my shiny new white Xbone I would have picked this up.
What strikes me though...is...is nobody playing single player??
I've never had the pleasure of playing any of the Halo games being a Playstation person all my life...so was looking forward to that side of this.
However reading the comments and such I'm now not so sure.
Maybe I'lll just go back to playing Aleph Marathon 2 on my pc.

I kinda hate voting. If BRs comes up its gonna be picked. I would love more diversity in matchmaking and maybe some choices without BRs. Fix the matchmaking first please. I don't know if people are talking enough about the bugs in trying to party up in this game. Even if matchmaking gets quicker I want a consistent party experience where my friends and I don't have to quit out of the game altogether just to get party up again once we split up. I really am still baffled they released the game in this state. If this game releases Spartan Ops before ALL these issues are ironed out I'm gonna be pissed. Nobody even wants Spartan Ops.

Campaigns are incredible and worth the price of admission. I think most of us have already played them though so the real draw is MP, which is unfortunate because it's a pain to get working.

Campaigns are great buy most of us have already played them through many times. Multiplayer is what I wanted most and its pretty fucked up at the moment. If you have never played them you should play them. Seriously! Do it Now! I envy you.
I guess, but I'd like to assume a day out from the patch they have a general idea of what we can expect this to address.

No kidding. 1080P and 60fps (usually!) Really helps this game out. I'd have to go back and play the 360 version again but I think it might be the most graphically impressive game I played last gen.It's great fun and very pretty

Beat Halo 4 on Legendary last night. It was weird. With 3 players we kept hitting huge studders and frame drops. But once we got 4 it was smooth sailing haha

I'm not sure the problems with parties are all bugs. The only issue I've had is trying to join and invite people which can be a major pain sometimes. Other than that, the issues seem to be design failures. A party system sort of half exists and the only part they put into matchmaking is forming a party which you can take to search for a game. After that there's simply no party system in matchmaking.

It's certainly in the top 3 for me, at least.
There are several downright jaw-dropping moments throughout the game.
Yeah my first ever computer was an old iMac (the-everything-in-one-package screen version; cant remember the model). So played the heck out of the two Marathon games then switched over to my first console which was a PSone and never went back.
I'll finish Sunset Overdrive then grab FarCry 4 on my main console which is a PS4 as I bought the XB1 for exclusives only THEN get to MasterChief Collection...hopefully the bugs are ironed out by then.

It's weird that all I remember from Halo 4 are low res textures and tiny outdoor areas. Hoping when I get to replaying it that my memories are too harsh.
My parents were Mac people (for some reason) and I randomly got the Marathon trilogy as a present growing up. Played them heaps since my options were limited, so when I first heard about Halo I fell down that rabbit hole too.
Never had one of those iMacs though, we skipped from the old beige Power PC box to those iMacs with the LCD on an arm.
EDIT: We even used to set up the two old beige Macs and play Marathon 2 over their printer ports. Sorry about the nostalgia rant

Started the Halo 2 campaign and its so much more polished than CE. I was having far less frame rate issues in the warthog too. Then I found a terminal which refused to play. It would go to the halo channel then beep and throw me back in the game. I forgot how much I love the Halo 2 campaign.
There used to be Team BR's playlist in Halo 3 I think. But there are too many games to do something like that.
