I'm definitely getting concerned about the game re-downloading after unlock... I have the full 59.11GB dl (The game, the 15GB MP patch, and the 97MB patch from yesterday) and I was very diligent in getting it all downloaded as I only have 6Mb/s at home.

We are planning a sort of Halo party tonight and it would really suck. Thankfully my brother has a X1 with MCC preloaded as well, so we have two systems ready, hoping that this doesn't happen to both systems....

Does anyone know if you can use a USB 3.0 HDD to make a copy of the game in case this happens? I'd try but I'm at work.

Hey everyone, I'm personally inviting NeoGAF members to join some friends & I tonight. We'll be hosting OLD SCHOOL Halo 2 custom games as soon as the game releases in US.

Add my GT Bun7gie to be invited. Also this play session will be streaming on Twitch for the people who can't make it.

Question: Do you guys think they'll add Halo 3: ODST as DLC for MCC??

There's enough screen space for it and Reach

Yeah looks like I'm not ditching Titanfall anytime soon.

Its shocking that this is what they think is acceptable. This is biggest first party of the year, and should be the reference for other online shooters. Titanfall obviously shits on this from a great height in online set-up.

This would have been a much more attractive package if it included or was expanded to include Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach. They are outstanding, unique, compelling entries in this franchise, and the distinction that they do not share the same protagonist as the other games is completely superficial.

Are any of these true?

-takes 4-6 hours to install game off disc
-take close to an hour to find a match
- game messes up balancing teams. You could go into 4v4 and the game makes it 5v3

I know people on waypoint love to over exaggerate, but that is some stuff that has been said over there.

Yeah I play with basically zero lag in TF. Not only that, they've brought the good ol' broken killcams over from Halo 4.

Fucking hell.

- yes
- yes, for now. But the game isn't out yet. Are there matchmaking issues? I mean... maybe. But that's never been a Halo problem so I'm not super worried.
- no, but there is party splitting. You can go into team slayer playlist (which is 4v4) with up to 6 people, for some reason.

I'd imagine the mm system is going to be all over the place until it gets properly populated.

Wait, wait, wait - four to six hours to install from disc? So I'm looking at up to six hours (assuming the patch downloads while installing) between when I get home at midnight with the disc, and when I can play multiplayer? So I might as well stick the thing in my Xbox, click install, and go to bed?

I'm in the UK and bought this from the US store. A couple of days ago I switched back to UK and when I checked the store there was another MCC that I could download.

Luckily I did just that as it seems this could be an issue for people who bought from a different region.

Remember the download is 15 gb...they could have slow(er) connections

Sorry - I misread.

I installed digitally, not from the disc. I don't know how long the disc install time is.

Some Xbox Ones seem to have that install issue and others don't, honestly. My X1 takes hours to install anything. But other people don't. So who knows.

Another huge problem with matchmaking is that it can split up the people in your party when you get into a game onto different teams. It's happened to me and a friend on multiple occasions.

If you are connected online the patch will install too, which makes it seems like the disc is taking ages to install. If you don't want that disconnect from the internet and install the disc and re-connect once it has installed, to download the content patch.

You can copy games via external HDD. Not in the pre-loaded state though.

That's nothing new. That has happened since Halo 2 days.

Thanks. Sucks that it doesn't work in pre-load state, but that helps if one of the games unlocks while the other restarts. I hope I'm just being paranoid, I'm like the rest of you and just itching to play tonight!

This is the odd thing about MCC matchmaking:

In previous Halo games, it would “make” one team of 4 and then another team of 4 and join them together. This just seems to add “available” players to a lobby as/when they’re free. Then once the lobby is full, it sets up the game and goes from there. Which would explain why people in the same party get split up so many times.

It's not matchmaking two teams, it's just pulling free people into a lobby it seems.

When Halo 2 first game out, it used to split up your party if it couldn't find enough players to put you against.

Party of 4 gets matched with part of two; time goes by and no other matches are found, so it splits the party. I believe they fixed that after a patch back then.

I'm willing to bet that it is happening right now because..... i don't know... maybe because the game isn't out for the majority of the population yet?

I almost feel compelled to take a break from Halo threads for a while. So many people are complaining about things based on hearsay and not trying it out for themselves. The Halo 5 beta threads are pretty bad.

I don't get why your all upset, the game hasn't launched yet?

They could be in the middle of load balancing the servers etc and haven't opened the gates yet

Come on it's Microsoft you know full well they know what there doing :)
