Don't know what's been going on with the multiplayer today but it let my friends and I play as a party of three with relatively few hiccups compared to yesterday. Had a blast.

Better to be safe than sorry. Especially if you live in a nation that has the highest gun ownership rates in the world, and one of the highest murder rates of the developed world as well.

We're conditioned to think it's all joking "I'll kill you bro", but in the era of social media, it gets nauseating and dangerous pretty quick. You never know these days. Anyone who thinks because their hobby isn't exactly how they like it, they have the right to threaten to kill someone, you know they probably have serious issues already.

How do you guys feel about the general direction 343 has taken the lore since taking over? I'm personally not a huge fan. Before halo 4 I really felt like the forerunners had an air of mystique to them. All you really knew about them was that they were immensely powerful and they were wiped out by the flood. After 4 and the various greg bear books they just seem to be humans with better tech. And the precursors(lol) have taken the place of "mysterious, unknowable race."

This really came to a head with me in halo 4 when the forerunner enemies are as powerful as your regular ass elite. Not to mention the gun crates with "forerunner battle rifle" and "forerunner shotgun." IDK just not a huge fan. What do you guys think?

I feel pretty much the same way, it was better when the Forerunner were a complete mystery. Personally I think things started to go off track in Halo 3 when the terminals revealed "Oh, so the Forerunners didn't build the Halos, they just inherited them from the Precursors." At least, I thought that's what they were getting at. I figured that explained what Cortana meant in Halo 2 when she said the Forerunners had built newer structures on top of old ones on Halo 05.

And I think it was really callow and namby pamby to bring the Covenant back. I liked the idea that they would be left behind in the original Bungie games, and that Halo 4 was the beginning of a truly new story that would have nothing to do with them. I'm sure 343 decided to bring them back out of fear of alienating "old school Halo fans," but I'm an old school Halo fan and I thought it was a shitty move.

Same thing happened to me. Had to replay 3 of the Halo 4 levels because it registered as me playing co-op with myself.

It's happening to me too, I think it only applies to H4 though. I soloed H2 Legendary and didn't have any problems. Now I'm doing H4, and I'm running into the same issue as you. It's counting it as co-op.

Halo 4 definitely seems like the buggiest campaign. Got that co-op bug twice on my Heroic playthrough on Requiem and Infinity. Fortunately no "untracked build" thing bug. Halo 2 I had 1 crash on Delta Halo. Halo 3 was flawless except for Tsavo Highway not counting, but that was when Live and achievements were being weird. I'm 8/10 on CE which has been perfect.

Halo 1, 2, and 3 are such glorious games. I just started Halo 3 and it just feels like such a triumph in every way. I appreciate it even more now after taking a few steps back. As the first X360 outing, it's really quite impressive.

I didn't like Halo 4 as much when it came out, but maybe I'll have a newfound appreciation for it when I start it.

Edit: Just realized this is not exclusive to MCC. So it must be a problem with my Xbox. I can't start any games at all. Ugh. MCC breaks XB1s confirmed?

You won't. Brother and I decided to play all the first levels of each game back-to-back. Did H1, H3, H2A, H4 (in that order). Got to the first encounter after the stupid QTE and turned that shit off ASAP. I soldiered through the first two levels for my Banshee nameplate, but no more. Unreal how badly 343 fucked up.

That is quite ridiculous. Nobody should be issuing death threats, period, especially over a video game. I am confident the game will be patched up in working order soon enough, just finished FarCry 4 today.

-We were overwhelmed by so many people buying our game, and we couldn't anticipate how enthusiastic our fan base is in having this much stress on our online infrastructure.
-We are pushing the boundaries of technology and sometimes you can't anticipate how it will play out in the real world til it happens.
-We are just upset/frustrated as you the fans are, as we love to play the game online too.

Agree. With this, 343 has lessened the lore of Halo. It's crazy but I honestly think they did almost everything wrong with Halo 4.

I don't think any SP stuff is coming until MP atleast works fine. Only real solution for that is play it on the original graphics.

Sure (though I don't know about downgraded graphics, I still think Halo 2 looks great), but those are things that never ruined the campaign for me, personally.

It was more that those higher memory requirements for the lighting and textures they wanted to put in place (which ultimately didn't improve much imo) that led to restricted, tighter, more close quarters level design. AND I personally think, as a result, we wound up with corridors that would have been huge open valleys in Halo CE. And don't get me started on the elevator rides.

In regards to the lore; Bungie's last installment into the franchise was Halo:Reach, so purely in terms of continuity 343i wins by default. Cryptum and Silentium are some of the best Halo novels. Some of the extraneous stuff like the Terminals have been very good, but like Bungie before them, plenty of terrible EU to go with it, e.g. Spartan Ops, Escalation.


Oh and 2014 Bungie released Destiny, while Joe Staten left. Doesn't instill much confidence in the developer.
