Tried to resume H2:A where I left it last time and got a black screen instead. Next time I'll have to restart the whole mission...

I got the same thing last night. Had to restart the mission. Even quitting the game didnt help. Right back to the black screen whenever I restarted at that checkpoint.
Sound still worked, when I fired I could still hear it. When I paused I could see the menu, even see the game in the background. But unpausing, back to black.

I'm not even really sure Bungie properly understood the franchise. Nylund and Staten understood. Damn shame they aren't at 343

Right I got the Xbox one for gears and halo, I was giddly excited about the master chief collection, after all the dog gone updates I finally start to play the game (single player) and realize there is something majorly wrong with the control scheme, I can't aim for shit, the controls kept slipping off again and again first I thought it was just me cause I have been playing Destiny on the ps4 for a long time. Turns out no matter which control scheme I chose, the aiming was waayy off the damn cross hair just could not focus....first I thought turns out there are a bunch load of players who have the same issue, I pulled out my 360 and gave halo 3 a whirl and it was perfect...
Anyone else facing this issue on the xbone, if you guys are how did you manage to fix it...maybe I am doing something wrong...

I've only heard of that bug happening in Halo 2. Guess it has something to do with the two graphic engines working at the same time.
At the same time, as much credit as I'm going to give 343 for the Forerunner trilogy, I'm gonna bust their balls just as much for the Kilo Five trilogy.
Combined with how questionable the story was told in Halo 4, 343 is a bit in the red at this point. But there's promise. We'll see how this new TV series goes. FUD was pretty solid.

Everyone who has the game in their games played history should have the same type of compensation - not just the digital customers. Why should digital customers get the compensation and not disc owners too?

That would raise issues of people getting compensated when they have only played their friend's copy or some other way of playing without purchasing.

Because you can sell your copy if you're unhappy with it.
I would imagine your tv may not be set up correctly for 1080p/60. Maybe you have a lot of processing on. Difference between plasma or LCD. Could be a lot of things.
Yea....you jumped the gun a little too quick there. I doubt that the Xbox Rewards Missions have anything to do with 343.
Playing in the ranked anniversary list last night and I was just getting utterly destroyed. went -11 in two back to back matches and I don't think I'm so good at halo anymore. I'm running into the same problem I had back in 2004, people are just better with the BR than I am. Some people can just nail it in 4 headshots and I always seem to lose, but chances are I will run them down with a ghost later, still and always be my most effective weapon.

I got Forward Unto Dawn for free as an early adopter gift. I've yet to watch it, but if I watch it will I get 15,000 rewards credits? That seems too good to be true.

Well that's that. From their FAQ:
You don't just get 15,000 rewards credits for buying a single video (even though it could be interpreted that way in the promotion's original description). You have to spend a total of $59.99 and once you meet that threshold, you get the 15,000 rewards credits. Either way, I don't think my free Forward Unto Dawn video would count, because it was an early adopter gift given to me last month, and the fine print says this deal is valid for purchases made between Dec 1st and Dec 31st (and a gift like that likely wouldn't count as a purchase that could contribute towards this promotion). Still quite a good deal though. Just not as shockingly generous as the original blurb would have you believe.

Yeah I do think they kind of lost their way at the end. Halo one will always be my favorite campaign because everything is so foreign and unknown.
To be honest though I don't think the reach campaign was that bad. I was just annoyed they kind of shit on the superior fall of reach book to do it. Not a huge deal though in the long run, it would have been a lot more palatable if the story they rewrote was any good. Although the final death scene of noble was really well done.
Exiting out of the game fixed this. Something I had to google because it's kind of a pain to exist out of a game on Xbox One, apparently.
Just always remember hitting the Xbox button to go home and then the start/hamburger/button on the right in the middle will let you do a bunch of things depending what you have selected as well as give you a quick way to settings.

it's still a buggy mess in a lot of ways but if the next patch fixes the uneven teams, I'll personally be content for now. I find matches without much hassle or time wasted, albeit the time is most definitely wasted because of the balancing issues. (also can we get way more BR start options in Halo 2 Classic? Plasma Rifle CTF is a bad time)

all i want for Christmas is MCC to work.
Given how much the situation has improved from start to now I would say that within the next 1-2 patches Matchmaking should work.
They also need to do some work on the campaign though.
I basically have not that much problems with it (playing one level at a time in online coop), but there are obviously also some things going on there ;-)
so youre hoping for a Christmas miracle.

Was anyone else getting a lot of lag tonight? I tried playing a couple of days ago (in-between playing FarCry 4) for the first time since the patch but couldn't get into a match. Just kept getting stuck at either "Found Players" or "Connecting Session." Tonight, my first two matches are p2p and the host quit both of them and the game failed to Migrate Host.
My BR felt like a Nerf Rifle tonight in H2A. Halo 2 Classic (played three matches, the Foundation match was pretty laggy but disconnected me part way through) and Halo 4 felt a lot better... basically buttery smooth. I feel like H2A is almost unplayable most of the time on p2p. So I ask, when the hell are we going to get to play on Dedicated Servers. That was one of the selling points. The game should be 100% Dedicated Servers like Titanfall, instead it is ~5% Dedicated Servers (and I feel that is being generous).
Hopefully once all this Matchmaking stuff is sorted out, they turn the Dedicated Servers on.

That weird jerky animation in Halo 1 bothered me too but you can switch the graphics mode to the original with the back button and it runs smoothly. Obviously not ideal if you prefer the new graphics but I hope it helps.
