I'm sorry, what? I always read Amazon reviews before I buy a product and there are positive comments (for products that deserve them, of course). Sometimes I have to go out of my way to find 2 or 1 star reviews (since I mostly try to order items by best reviewed).

I think I know what you were going for but you're wrong about Negative comments being "the norm". It really depends on the product.

No matter the product, there are always more negative comments than necessary with regard to the product's actual worth. Even if a product has few negatives, that's probably more than it deserves mainly due to people having a very out of the ordinary experience even with a solid product. The actual percentage would be way lower than it evidenced on a review site because happy people are less likely to post a review than unhappy people.

So damn buggy it's pissing me off. Spent the past 40 mins just trying to start a co-op game of Halo 2 with a friend with no luck. Just bugs out on the loading screen, but Halo 1 works fine....

I can't believe after 2 patches you still can't back out of a game as a team. Anyone saying they aren't having many problems with the game must be playing by themselves.

This game is still truly a mess. The patches have helped the matchmaking times but have increased the amount of crashing and other glitches if anything.

I just played the Library this morning with the Anniversary graphics and it was much better than I remember it being. I actually don't hate it anymore! LOL

Anniversary improves navigating the Library 100% for sure. I'm just sad that they didn't help 343GS the same way--I still get lost after more than a decade...

Just follow the green lights.

Problem is there are multiple green lights (on different floors, etc.) The level is designed to make you backtrack the way you came, and then have an "oh shit" moment when the lift you took explodes. But for repeat playthroughs it's just annoying.

Got up to Tsavo Highway in Halo 3 yesterday. I still think Halo 3's got the best Campaign.

I'm looking forward to revisiting Halo 4's too.

I wanted to like the Halo 4 campaign (boy was it pretty), but I couldn't. I found the Forerunner weapons and enemies wholly uninteresting and a lot of the gameplay felt like a grind. Couldn't get into the plot at all, either, as I couldn't take any of it seriously, especially when it all boiled down to a boss fight with a generic bad guy who wants to destroy everything and whose big brain gives him psychic powers.

It all just felt really cheesy, and the fiery skull Forerunner robot guys didn't help much. I liked when Halo was a bit more subtle and left things more dark and mysterious.

OMG, it's true, It's been so many playthroughs since I last saw that elevator exploding that I basically forgot about its existence. Guess I have the whole game mapped inside my head now, I just can't get lost anymore. LOL.

Halo 4 needs more regular earth like areas outdoors and not in jungles. Like H1-3.

This... makes no sense.

What is a product's "actual worth"?

Yeah, would've been nice if they left more mystery 'n ambiguity surrounding the Forerunner. They'll probably eventually do the same with the Precursors.

I think I would've liked it more if it centered in more on inner conflict between humanity, and how they make use of Forerunner technology. I think they're going in that direction anyways with Oni, but I wish it was the primary focus from the beginning.

I still think halo 4 is amazing at big team battle and incredible at one game type....ricochet.

Ricochet is the bees knees.
I've only played Ricochet once, but it did seem extremely fun.

Things have gotten worse for me in the past few days. I having a very hard time getting into a game, and when/if I eventually get in, after the match is done my game will freeze on the carnage report screen and I have to go to the dashboard and quit the game.

Very bad experience.

Theres something unbelievable satisfying about launching a hail mary to a buddy in haven and having him run it in, or have the other team chuck the pigskin from across the map only to have my dumb face jump up and intercept it.

It sucks that even if there is a patch tonight, and even if matchmaking works again, there still won't be all the playlists. ranking will still be broken. matching people with the right skill rank might still be broken.

I get so excited then i have to kick myself back to reality. :(

For the last few months, when talking about games with my brother halo has been the topic of conversation constantly, especially reminiscing about the good times. Whilst playing gears 3 today, no one mentioned halo, its disappearing fast from our radar.

What a sad state of affairs. How can titanfall get it right first time (you know, from Respawn a new company) and Microsoft/343 MCC matchmaking haven't managed to correct matchmaking after 3 weeks.

We are in an endless download patch, play with small incremental improvement, wait another week for a hopefully a patch that nails it at the moment. No one has said anything about it getting any better soon, just mention of more updates down the line. Its properly messed up.

If they were fixing the bugs they could and had switched us onto p2p whilst they re-engineered dedicated multiplayer I'd be happy to wait knowing that it was going to be getting better. But instead we are rinse-repeating :(

Instead of the word PATCH! being on your brain is the thing that is going to save this game, just erase it with a different, more realistic word and everything will be okay.

Something like JANUARY! or FEBRUARY!

Truth bomb.

4v4 Team Slayer Lockout is very overrated. Lockout is a great Oddball and Free For All map though.

True Dat. Lockout is far too asymmetrical to be considered a GREAT Slayer map.

BTW: You considering playing in my stead for the HaloGAF MCC Throwdown thing on Saturday night?

I really wish I could use any controller layout from all the games in the series when playing any game in the series.

Ideally I want Grenades as L trigger, Melee as R Bumper, A as jump, X as reload, and Left Toggle Click as Crouch.

This layout is only available in CE unfortunately I believe.

I can't. My birthday is this week so I'll be doing the relatives stuff on Saturday. Thanks though!

Maybe their whole system of mixing together 4 different games with different code sets is more compicated than "just one" game like Titanfall.

I am not saying that the current state is OK, by any means ...

but I just can see that this is a vastly more difficult situation than other games.

That being said => I like those Matchmaking patches but please also start working on the campaign stability.

I have a theory about what's wrong with this game. A while ago a user posted this thread:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=931438

A TLDR is basically that after a while the router releases any ports the Xbox has opened and Xbox doesn't renew them meaning your NAT goes to strict from open or moderate. Now if MCC is using P2P connections to match players together before games then dumping them onto dedicated servers this will cause an issue where, unless your NAT is open or moderate, you will have a very difficult time connecting to other people. This also explains why restarting your console often gives results as it forces the Xbox to renew those ports. This is also something that wouldn't even be tested for or even come up in a fabricated environment, likely why they said they didn't see it until shipping.

If you had a strict NAT in Halo 2 or Halo 3 it would have the same connection issues as MCC is having now. I remember having this exact problem playing at a mates house who had a cheap router back in the halo 2 days, it would sometimes take 10-15 mins to get a game.

What are better alternatives, other than Midship? I'm curious!

Besides, it's an advantage for a map no matter size or shape, if it can play objectives like Flag, Assault, Oddball, etc. well. If it's just Slayer... then it's not so great afterall (see Guardian).

I can't get into a H2A objective game because people keep picking slayer. I've never had this problem in a halo game before.

Edit: WTF there's 0 objective only playlists.

people pick the BR games because most still haven't realized that the objective game types start with BR.

343 should of just made BR start default for all H2A game types.

On the latest Bombcast, Patrick Klepek basically confirms through a "source" that the game was rushed.

Not sure of the time mark on the podcast they talk about it, but he's a pretty reliable source of news.

Is the MP still broken? I was going to get an X1 this week but seeing how this is really the only game I'm interested in for the system and they can't even get it right I'll wait till next year

Some are seeing improvement, but it is still broken for the most part, and there's still a number of content updates incoming.

So, just hold back until next year.

[EDIT] - That said, there is some kind Xbox Rewards thing for the Master Chief Collection this December. You should keep tabs on 343i's progress, and if it becomes acceptable to you, purchase a digital copy before the month is up.

I can't find a single game right now.
Restarted the game a few times along with restarting the console.

Perhaps they're making updates on their end.

Just checked to see what the activity is for this game and wow... really sad. Almost off the page of I think 10 games in the "Top Played" section and is behind Unity. Never would have guessed that Halo would be this deserted just a few weeks after launch. Crazy.

Edit: Shit, didn't mean for such a downer post to be the first on this page. My friends have told me MM has definitely improved recently.

It depends. some days it doesn't take too long, others it's a nightmare. :(

But it can be oddly worth it. Halo's multiplayer is still the most satisfiying I've ever played, regardless of the version (minus 4).

my first 2 MM attempts tonight...

finding 8 or 9 people, it kicking us to the "so and so is session leader" screen. I attempt to back out and the game crashes

then, get a full 10 people and it sits on creating teams... not doing anything.. won't allow me to back out so i have to restart it
