The game is now in a state where, if it were released like this, we'd describe it as having "serious issues." The kind attributable to launch-related snargles, and the kind that we'd expect to be patched quickly. Considering how much better it is than it was at launch, it puts into perspective just how bad things were.
Disconnects, crashes, and general bugginess are still common, but it's at least at a point where I'm able to complain about smaller things. Namely, what the hell's with the hit detection in H2 Classic and H1? I've hit stationary guys with the sniper rifle and had it draw blood, but no hit. I saw that YouTube video of host/non-host hit detection, so I assume it's an inherent problem with the game. Can it be fixed, though? It really sours my appetite for playing those games, which sucks since I love them.
Edit: regarding quitters in matchmaking, some friends and I are kicking around a theory that a lot of (early) quitters are people whose game crashed on them but still get loaded into the game simply because there seem to be so many of them. Does that seem plausible?
