aaaaaaand the game locks up loading the mp map, good fucking game, halo collection.

I'll be honest, the mcc feels like a rushed bundle for christmas at times, the menu is really buggy.

Finally got to play a Team Slayer game earlier. Too bad half the players quit and I got stuck on the loading screen to the post match results.

Been reading comments like this way too much. I was kicked out a few times, so I'm starting to believe that some of these "quitters" are just victims of this jacked up launch.

I found the Halo 4 multiplayer to be fantastic. I know that's not the general impression, but I could never figure out why people hated it other than, "it's not exactly like Halo used to be". It still had a that great halo feel (like a higher TTK) that makes the series' multiplayer great.

Honestly, one of the things I'm most excited about in the MCC is trying all the Halo 4 DLC maps that I never tried before.

Also, I really enjoyed the single player campaign. Halo 4 was a great game.

Yup, I agree, Halo 4 is phenomenal especially the campaign. I love having the multiplayer on the Xbone now.

I just picked up my copy from Best buy, got a cool little book with maps of all the maps with tips fpr free. Really cool for someone like me who never really played a lot of halo online (played a bit of Halo 2 local and a month or so of Halo 3)

I knew this was too good to be true. Multiplayer is so broken. The lag has been horrendous, where are the dedicated servers? When you finish a game it doesn't put you back in the queue. The games are never full, team slayer puts everyone on separate teams individually. Each game has taken me over 10 minutes to pair, on every playlist.

All my excitement out the window.

I'm think I'm going to do all 4 campaigns for the first time before delving into MP.

Question: I know people hated halo 4 mp... Is the Sp hated as well?
I hate the plot and the level design and combat encounters are markedly worse than those in previous games. All the environments are narrow corridors, many areas are repeated a la CE, and the Prometheans are nowhere near as fun to fight as the Covenant. You won't find any big set pieces in Halo 4, nor will you find any trace of Halo's trademark atmosphere; ancient, epic, and mysterious. Indeed, many things about Halo 4 are a mystery, but few of them are ever explained.

That said, it's a competent shooter campaign. Totally serviceable, and really only offensive to the diehard Halo fans. You'll probably enjoy it.

Story is very poorly told, especially if you don't read up on the lore and the new expanded fiction. Believe me if all you've ever played is just the games, you'll be confused as well.

Additionally, the gameplay is very linear with a lot of go here, press this button, cleanse the enemies move on and repeat. The enemies are also damage sponges. One enemy flies away quickly, another can crawl on walls or swarm and the promethean Knights are the worst. Take a lot of damage, can teleport away, or have 1 hit kill weapons. You're in for a rough time on heroic or legendary.

But the cinematics are top notch, and people really loved the story between Chief and Cortana and how they humanized him. So it's definitely worth playing through, especially for Halo 5.

Damn... I know absolutely nothing about Halo lore or story and I'm not gonna be reading outside fiction for my playthrough of these games. Guess Halo 4 is gonna have to confuse me a little bit.

That's the beauty of running through the Halo games on Legendary. Not only does it truly test your skills, but by the end you end up feeling like a complete boss for having survived.

Ah, yes, the Legendary cheese is real and true to my heart. Halo: CE is especially good for being able to skip past areas.

I don't know if I am familiar with the Halo 2 jackal spot you're referring to. I do know of one where you can use the building rooftops to your advantage. This is in the area where you turn a corner and then there are 3 or so Jackal snipers about 100 feet ahead of you.

Look up how to get the Blind skull. Right at the first area with the grunt, you can jump up onto the roof and skip all combat until, at the very least, the inside of Hotel Zanzibar. From there I rush to grab the Ghost by the Pelican and boost past most of the engagements and the Shadows at the end. On Legendary you have to play a few parts safer, but it's really easy to speed through.

And yeah, the only time I try and speedrun is Legendary runs. For the most part I'm not a grueling difficulty guy, so I just try and beat the game as fast and dirty as possible.

Matchmaking Working for me. Waited 3 minutes to find all Players, though.
H2A - Rumble.

Ok just fired the game up!

20 seconds of trying each playlist:

tried Anniversary 2 = Searching
BTB = Searching
Halo 2 classic = Searching
Halo 4 = searching
Halo 3 = Searching

kinda do hope they give us a player count of each playlist though, could be hard to find games down the road with all those lists!

is there no way of selecting game type on these playlists? like team death match or king of the hill etc or do we just get random cycles?

never played Halo before so not sure if they are usually seperated?
Try searching for 10 to 15 minutes... You might find a game. Maybe.

The matchmaking is definitely being worked out!

All you need to know is that a big bad Promethean is back to take back what he believes is the Promotheans' rightful place in the universe that the humans don't deserve.

That's really it. Not sure why people say it's confusing, when you boil it down, that's basically what it is.

EDIT: Also Cortana/Chief love affair becomes more apparent and will likely play a big role in the next set of games.

Confusing to me cause I have no idea what a Promethean is but I'm sure I'll understand later... Ha, like I said, the story and lore is completely new to me. Excited to dive in more... An hour into CE and I'm intrigued by the setup.

Okay it's installing right now. At what point can I start playing the campaign? It's at 3% right now and it's climbing very slowly...

Ohh, you're completely new to the series. You'll get the series' story...cept maybe 2. No one really understands the talking...thing..you'll see.

Had some more good games with gaffers. Loving this game so far. Haven't touched the campaign yet.

I can't wait for matchmaking to start working but at least customs have been good to me.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
Is there any way to change the sound levels? I can barely hear dialogue when music or fighting is happening.

It doesn't look like there's options for a lot of stuff like that. I see no gamma either, and H2A seems really dark at points.

Having RB for both reload and switching the weapon is one of the dumbest decisions I've seen in a game. I'm constantly losing my weapon, annoying as fuck.

And the sensitivity is shit, it's different for both vertical and horizontal movements and they've added acceleration on top. Not to mention the fucking floating jumping. Fun.

Edit: The music so far is really great though, on a level of its own.
