Halo TMCC |OT2| 3V4 Industries

Well.. I still can;t consistently get into games after the latest update.

Today, my matchmaking flow has been the following: Searching > Searching for more players > Player found > Joining session > Connection failed > Searching.. And repeat.

I know the update brought improvements for many, but things on my end ended up getting worse, which is very frustrating.

mine as well until i did a hard reset

The biggest issue I'm running into now (and so are multiple people as evidenced on streams) is the game finding an odd number of players very quickly and then sitting for an eternity before it finds that elusive last person or boots someone so the game will start.

Bravo did a QandA over a r/halo on the halo 5 guardians beta.

From what i can see almost/absolutely none of it was about MCC.

The game is a dumpster fire and they are already on to the next. I understand the beta is starting but good god you have so many people who still want answers.

Oh yay, anecdotal evidence is always my favorite.e

The fact that MCC isn't in the Top 5 of most played games on Live is more telling than anything.

Where can you see the the most played games on Live?

Also, still haven't been able to get in a game this week.

Gotta realize that most of 343 has been only on halo 5 where MCC was like 90% not 343

I think this post from the AMA is relevant for people here (me included) who are having trouble finding matches:

Hey Sosd, we're aware that non-US players, especially AUS players, are still seeing Matchmaking difficulty. Can you PM me your gamertag? I'll have the team take a look.
If you're reading this and have what you believe to be gamertag-specific Matchmaking issues (i.,e. you're having an issue but your friends are not), please feel free to reply to this comment or PM me with gamertag and issue, with details of which playlist(s) are affected. I'll get the info over to the team, which will help with debugging and investigation.

I totally realize that. But they are the only company that comes up besides MS in the game's splash screen. At the end of the day, its their name on the box, their IP, they are responsible for it.

On the note of CeX, does anyone in the US have one in their state? We have one here in Boston. I was shocked when it opened. It's always been a UK brand, no? I might have to stop there today and see what their stockpile for used MCC is like.

Personally, I can't see myself ever giving my copy up. For the campaigns if nothing else. I started on 2 when I first got my copy and finished 4 the other night. I'm going to run through CE and go through 4 again. I'm having a blast. Also, dat CE play list... Duh duh duh duh da, I'm loving it.

Exactly. They'd be fine taking the credit for it if it was working.

Exactly. Having this semantic argument about which specific company should be blamed is totally irrelevant and a waste of time. 343 was created by Microsoft. The awful idea to outsource Halo MCC to a bunch of different subsidiaries was some awful managerial decision made by someone high on the food chain. I fully blame Microsoft for this debacle.

Irreparable damage has been done with the persisting online problems. It really is a joke and leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth. This was supposed to be a celebration of all things halo and yet...all I can associate with this package that was supposed to be this generation's The Orange Box, is failure.

Have a look at this:

Most stores would be expected to have a good supply of month-old games. It's not like demand is ever likely to outstrip supply for non-limited edition games. I get what you're trying to imply, but logic doesn't back it up.

I've had my fair share of games the other way around.

It sucks.
Yes, it does suck. That's the point. Rather than let the game end in natural competition, you're objective holding to pad your score and you're wasting people's time, asking them to stick around when they could happily be playing a more interesting match.

Objective holding should be bannable.

If someone is holding the flag on my team in MM, I betray them to try and score.

(And instead of crafting stat-tracking systems to encourage this crap, use an incentives approach like keeping objective game K/D out of the global K/D tracker, and sticking in stuff like a "time to win" tracker.)

So why do you lose 200 points every time you blow up a Ghost with competitive scoring on? This happened several times on Quarantine Zone.

If I had to guess, it's probably a teamkilling thing - it correlates "ghost" with "ally vehicle" as the Arbiter, for whatever reason.

Might have to do with them being piloted by Elite Combat Forms, too.

By saying this, are they implying that US players are not seeing matchmaking difficulty, and that any difficulties still encountered with US matchmaking are user-specific?

I think the implication is more that the dedicated servers in the US got a more... prioritized treatment compared to some of the other data centers Microsoft viewed as auxiliary at launch.

Objective holding is the only way to play objective.

Yo the objective holding spawn trap on zealot in reach was legendary. Slayer unlimited.

Can't forget playing Oddball swordbase to see how dumb people play objective.

*facepalm*

Fucking humanity makes me sick sometimes.

Some of you guys are taking this the wrong way.

Back when Halo PC was released, people played CTF on Hang 'em High and no one cared about the objective.

All they cared about was playing Halo MP online and killing each other with the pistol and sniper fire.

Just 20 minutes of unlimited slayer. No one cared about K/D.

I don't know how to fully explain it. Sometimes when I get trounced on, I see an opportunity to practice in order to get better.

You still haven't fully explained why YOU do it is why people take issue with it.

You even said it yourself that it sucks. Why would you want to make it suck for others purposely? I mean, I get it, people do that, but if you're gonna do it, own up to it.

If you only use the BR and never go after anything else then either your teammates are controlling the actual power weapons for you or you're a hindrance and are the reason your team loses

It's called playing as a team. One person gets rockets, the other sniper, and the others go for the BR's.

Wow so AUS has an even worse time than US with the MCC. Ouch, guys.

Supposedly though, Microsoft adding dedicated data servers for their country so they don't have to connect to Asian or US ones anymore. Once MCC has its problems fixed, seems like it could be good for Australians going forward I think.

These are all used copies that have been traded in or sold to CEX, sticker stays 2nd hand on it.

Reminds me. Been out of the loop. They fix this abomination yet or is it still a steaming pile of broken bugs? I'm guessing the later judging by that picture.

It plays much better, to the point where you can reasonably find matches quickly. But there is still a lot of wonky gameplay, lag, bugs, things like random crashes, host migrations, weird uneven teams so instead of 3v3 it becomes 4v2. Plus there are small things like emblems and logos not displaying correctly, quite a few campaign issues etc.

It's just not a polished game and I don't think it ever will be.

I'd say its "working" for "most" people now?

I personally have not had any real major issues for the past two weeks. I get into games relatively fast, even teams, party doesn't break up, 95% lag free games.

Only have to restart the game every once in awhile versus literally every time I tried to play before the last couple patches.

But, for many, the game is still shit, particularly for people outside of the US. A lot of the UK and AUS players in this thread are reporting the game is still a steaming pile.

I bought my xbone to play this with friends but they warned me off it and still say it's not worth buying yet, in the UK here, most reports of things improving seem to be usa based

As a EU player, that's disappointing.

At least the campaigns are in a semi-playable state.

I wanted to bring this up. The global Stat tracker doesn't even work. I dont know what games it keeps track of, but none of my h3 stats count towards anything. Even under h3 stats it says 0 kills. I'm having a hard time understanding how a game can be this broken.

Literally almost nothing in this pos works.
What's even more infuriating is 343 knows all of these problems, and pretends they don't exist, or refuses to acknowledge anything.
They're all adults, it's getting pathetic that they wont take responsibility for creating one of the most broken games in the past 5 years.

Its somehow even more annoying they hire someone like bravo, who knows absolutely nothing about game development, for damage control. I dont want some kid to tell me false answers, when I already know they can't fix games that already have been completed 7+ years ago.
I've never been this angry at a game/developer before, I hope frank sleeps well at night knowing he gets paid no matter what. What a bunch of useless assholes.
Sorry I'm done ranting now lol. Off to play some sunset overdrive, cause you know, it actually works.

Somewhat related, I was playing H4 SWAT CTF and I was the only one to score on my team. We were one capture away from winning and I was 10 steps away from the score drop. Some dickhead betrayed me specifically so he could get the game winning score.

I was also playing H2 classic the other day and there was some dick that was betraying team mates for the sake of betraying them. Wtf is wrong with people?

Ohhh...idk..25-30 hours depending on the difficulty?

Not nearly that long. If you're playing solo legendary I'd say 20 hours tops, if you like to explore and kill absolutely everything, 25 tops. But on a lower difficulty anywhere from 13-16 hours. Most levels take no longer than 20-25 minutes to complete.
