Very awesome!
I get a major Maiden vibe from the chorus riff

I couldn't even pick. I love Moth and Atlas too much. After relistens I now like Moth most I think. Vote in my twitter poll for your favorite![]()
I mean if you count out the incompetence of Lars, the way James sounds, the way everything sounds so powerless, that terrible Iron Maiden solo, and the fact it's 6 minutes long it's a song.

James actually sounds great, and this is coming from someone that hated how he sounded in the clip, the guitars sound good too and the solo just sounds like Kirk being Kirk, not his best work but better than his prior two and yeah most songs on the album are going to be 5-7 minutes long, Halo on Fire is 8 IIRC, hardwired is short because it was done the week before the announcement.I mean if you count out the incompetence of Lars, the way James sounds, the way everything sounds so powerless, that terrible Iron Maiden solo, and the fact it's 6 minutes long it's a song.
Okay listened to it five times so far. The melodic parts definitely give me some Ride the Lightning vibes. The chorus is amazing just like in Moth. Can't decide which is the better song because both are phenomenal, imo.
Atlas is new wave of british heavy metal, no doubt. That's some great oldschool shit.
For me it's kinda impossible. All three so far have been amazing.
But no more singles for me now. I'm holding out until the release. Not long now.
Only listened to the song once. Wasn't too impressed at the beginning but it grew on me and I was really liking it by the end.
They're not releasing any more music until launch they announced today so only 19 days to go.For me it's kinda impossible. All three so far have been amazing.

Hardwired was pretty average IMO, and had abysmal lyrics.
The overall theme of the album is "self destruction" or self destructive tendencies which is why Hardwired got the title, but I agree, Atlas, Rise! Is more exciting.Yeah, I don't know...Hardwired sounds like it doesn't belong on this album. I know it was written in just seven days but still...
We've only heard three songs so far so maybe there are more songs like Hardwired but I doubt it.
It's really strange they named the album after this song, imo.
Atlas, rise! is a perfect title for an album.

Also Atlas,Rise lyrics courtesy of Reddit:
Bitterness and burden
Curses rest on thee
Solitaire and sorrow
All Eternity
Save the Earth and claim perfection
Deem the mass and blame rejection
Hold the pose, reign perception
Grudges break your back
All you bear
All you carry
All you bear
Place it right on, right on me
Die as you suffer in vain
Own all the grief and the pain
Die as you hold up the skies
Atlas, Rise!
How does it feel on your own?
Bound by the world all alone
Crushed under heavy skies
Atlas, Rise!
Crucify and witness
Circling the sun
Bastardize and ruin
What have you become?
Blame the world, and blame your maker
Wish em to the undertaker
Crown yourself the other savior
So you carry on
All you bear
All you carry
All you bear
Place it right on me, right on me
Die as you suffer in vain
Own all the grief and the pain
Die as you hold up the skies
Atlas, Rise!
How does it feel on your own?
Bound by the world all alone
Crushed under heavy skies
Crushed under heavy skies
Atlas, Rise!
Masquerade as maker
Heavy is the crown
Beaten down and broken
Drama wears you down
Overload, the martyr stumbles
Hit the ground and heaven crumbles
All alone, the fear shall humble
Swallow all your pride
All you bear
All you carry
All you bear
Place it right on, right on me
Die as you suffer in vain
Own all the grief and the pain
Die as you hold up the skies
Atlas, Rise!
How does it feel on your own?
Bound by the world all alone
Crushed under heavy skies
Crushed under heavy skies
Atlas, Rise!
I feel you man, song blew my expectations out of the water, definitely going to see them if they come my way and sing my heart out. If the rest of songs are bare minimum as good as Moth and Atlas it's going to be up there with their first four-five for me (I only really dig half of Black).Crushed under heavy skies

Best line. I wanna scream it out my window as loud as I can, lol.

My two most hyped games and a new Metallica album are coming out this month. I could not be happier.
Looks like you'll get your wish! And this concert will likely be my second concert ever as my first was when I was 15 and I've got to say I'm incredibly jealous of you getting to see them on their MoP tour, way before my time but it must've been incredible to witness history in the making.I saw them three times so far. First in Berlin 2003 (Germany), then Gelsenkirchen (Germany) and Arnhem (Netherlands, MOP anniversary tour). I'm pretty sure Hardwired is their last album so yeah...I wanna see them again asap.
I just hope there is a "slow" song on the album. It doesn't have to be a ballad (there is no ballad on hardwired) but something like Fade To black, Sanitarium....please.
I've searched a couple hundred forum posts to find some impressions from their listening party so this is what I got:
Am I Savage: Slow and Heavy, compared to 'Sad But True', also compared to Iron Maiden
Spit out the bone: Fast and thrashy, compared to Battery
Halo on Fire: this is kind of aballad it seems, but in the same way One is a ballad but then gets heavy at the end.
Overall impressions: Reminiscent of "Master of Puppets", "Black Album" and "Reload", lots of heavy tracks both fast and "stomping", overall it's crushing, heavy and different, Kirk uses less wah (already evident) Impressions are incredibly positive, it's progressive and has "good bass" (no AJfA repeat)
There's a song that they feel didn't work, but it was never listed which.
Other comments:
At least 5 songs that will be "legendary", Killer riffs, amazing rhythm changes and people really love 'Spit out the bone'
Of course these are opinions from megafans that were at the event. I've also been told that an embargo for press reviews will be lifted tomorrow on November 1st so we might get a few less bias opinions there.
But this might be it guys, a return of the king.

But yeah, no fade to black but Halo on Fire is compared to "One" and "The day that never comes"
