I know what you guys mean about morbid curiousity though. Would have appreciated people who have no concept of narrative quality or character integrity actually realising something had gone wrong with the show.

I can see it. There's a lot of garbage in the latter half of that season and some salvageable bits from the first half (funzo, tomacco). Past season eleven there are maybe 2-3 watchable episodes per season.
A.) Slightly off impersonations? The characters are too old and well-known for a totally new voice.
B.) Probably not. Why bother? Too many characters are involved.
