oh so psp ones weren't solid 30?

I remember trying one with an english patch and was wondering why the framerate was ass, and assumed i patched it wrong :X

Huh, so the Vita demo songs are...slightly different? I know World's End Dance Hall was on the PS3 demo, but I don't recall the other two.

Guessing those star notes (IIRC the right name for them) aren't able to be activated via the flicking motion on the PS3 version and need to be done via touch?

So the full price (base games, extra song DLC and extra characters DLC) comes in at just under $50, right?

Just need to know how much I need to have available for this purchase.

Game = $30
6 songs DLC = $10
3 extra characters = $3
Snow costume = $3

So yeah, about $46, & the characters & costume are cross-buy, so they'll work on both versions. Oh, & grab the Enhancement Pack as well for more accessories, stages, etc.

Seems interesting the Vita version & PS3 version have a slightly different song list. Oh well, means I get to listen to more of the songs in order to decide if I'd like the overall music.

Took a few attempts to remember "Oh yeah, W = both buttons in the same direction". Touch screen for stars feels....okay. It feels weird, but more natural compared to the PS3's analog stick.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva f : $29.99
Extra songs: $9.99
Extra characters: $2.99
Snow Miku: $2.99
Accessory Pack: Free

That's all of the DLC I believe, so you'll need exactly: $45.96

Just played a bit of the vita demo. It's still the same fun I had with the PS3 version, just lower resolution. I'll probably just stick with my PS3 version for now, might get the vita version later on.

Scratch notes require touchscreen use in the Vita version, yes. It makes the most sense; basically consider the touchscreen to be a DJ turntable where you swipe up on it to trigger one star, then swipe back down to trigger the next. I never liked them on analogs nearly as much.

Guys, can you make songs in this game or is it just what happens on the song?

I'm not clear on what you mean, but you can use the game's Edit mode to make your own notecharts and dances to the game's songs or to any music you have on your Vita. Edits are also shareable via PSN (though keep in mind if you use music from outside the game that isn't shared along with your data, so you'll need to leave a hint where people can get the exact same copy of the song you used).

Ahh so you can't make your own songs.. :(

I was thinking of downloading some songs of Miku on the net then upload that to PDf then make a song.

Well at least I can edit dances and note charts.

sorry if I was not clear.

Having issues with note timing in the tutorial; hopefully in actually song play I get the hang of it. I feel like my timing is right, but the notes are off.

But that's exactly what Edit Mode enables.

Another question, what the hell am I doing wrong in Communication mode? I try to rub Miku's hair, and all I seem to do is piss her off. It's just a gentle rub back and forth, right?

Well another $40 for the base game and extra songs. Nice touch the other DLC is cross buy. Hopefully I'll suck less with the vita version.

The first time I saw this character I was watching a clip on youtube and this character was performing a concert lol in front of real living people. It looked pretty cool. I'll probably get this game.

The thing is, when I try to rub her head, it's like it doesn't register. I am using a screen protector; could that be hindering me?

I have a screen protector on my vita and I don't have that issue. Maybe try cleaning off the screen and restarting the game or your vita? That usually works for me when touch based stuff isn't working out.

If touch stuff is flaking out and your Vita is plugged in, try unplugging it. If it's unplugged, try plugging it in.
I plugged it back in for a few, then unplugged, and that fixed it.

On another related note, she is kicking my ass at janken now... There are no tells for what the vocaloids pick are there?

If you're just after the trophy play it against Luka, from platting the US/Japanese versions it seems to be the easier one.

Quite a few Vita games do that. I think it's to save battery, but maybe there's some other reason.

Ah, I see. I want to download the DLC while playing though.

I gotta say Luka is probably my favorite vocaloid because I can hear her voice passing off as a real human voice.

Welp, after 2 attempts each on Normal (save for about 3 retries on World's End Dance Hall), got perfects on the 3 demo songs on Normal. Think all those years of playing DDR on a Duelshock 2 controller (plus I guess 6 years of band) have paid off for making it easy to adapt to music games. In any case, kind of wish you would try the difficulty above Normal. I would like to see how hard the game gets, especially when it breaks away from just two directions/buttons to press.

Knowing Sega, this'll probably be on sale sooner or later, so think I'll wait until it's $20 or so, considering my backlog & budget.

Is here any way to switch the star to the stick? My vita actually CRASHES when I try to access to Manuel, lol

No. That control method was invented for the PS3 version (so only after the release of the Vita version). You can however use a help item that lets you hit the star notes with any button, but that reduces your score.

According to the manual, you can use the read touchpad for scratching as well (which I think I might prefer as to not to leave smears on the screen). Doesn't seem like there's stick support.

I also must say the portability & the fact I can use headphones makes the Vita version my preferred choice for this game.

I have my doubts a game this niche would receive significant discounts anytime soon, especially considering this game's licensing situation - it's already as cheap as I can imagine it getting for a game with a 100% licensed song list, even considering it's over a year and a half old at this point.

Having to play all the songs on normal sucks, is there a way to just unlock the higher difficulties?

Unfortunately no.
