that's what dust is for?

Dust is just some side currency which is there to prevent us from seeing how devaluated it is from gold/real money

Funny that Blizz didnt include an AH in this game, as it would make sense here, unlike in Diablo.

I really like the game and play tons but there is room for improvement in its f2p model

Dust allows you to get cards without having to rely completely on luck.

remember me
Lack of AH/trading benefits them at least two ways. No worry of hacking to steal your stuff like in wow so less cs/support costs, and forces you to spend real money to get what you want quicker.

Why not just have gold though huh if its all about enabling the players to get what they want

Why do I have to buy a pack for x gold, to convert it to y dust?

Why do I only get y dust when I disenchant a card but it costs 4 (it is 4 right?) times more to make the card?

so many cheap smoke and mirrors!

1. I never said it is all about enabling players to get what they want. I said what dust functions as.

2. I don't see your point here. You have to buy packs to get cards to dust them. The amount you get is variable. They couldn't just let you buy cards with gold due to the variable nature of dusting and pack opening. This is just the way they designed gold to equate to cards.

3. Because they made it so you can't collect every card incredibly fast. The ratio really isn't that bad. Another f2p DCG I've played is like 1:10 (solforge).

edit@youredit:
Cheap smoke and mirrors?

I think it is pretty clear how the system operates.

There is already a ratio of gold to dust we just cant see it.

They might as well let us buy cards at that ratio.

Like I said, the ratio is variable. There is no set ratio. Maybe an average, but that wouldn't be a ratio would it.

BTW, that ratio would probably be closer to 1:1 than you'd think anyhow.

Average is basically a ratio no?

If there is x% chance to get a LEG per pack, then you know how much gold a LEG costs.

Dancing swords is a death knight ability in WoW,

True, but that's Dancing Rune Weapon. And it's kind of like red with Blood or something if I'm thinking of the right thing.

The swords themselves are Northrend-ish though. So there's a good chance it's a Death Knight spell that summons adds or whatnot.

Ok finally beating the bots. Step 1 was building a deck. I was using the the default Mage one, used the reddit guide one. Much more fun now.

start playing humans ASAP.

the computer will teach you habbit's that won't work against real people.

I can't tell you what exactly but someone gave me this advice and I have been getting better.

Of course after I posted that the priest started kicking my ass. I want to beat all the computer decks first. Then I'll try.

Yay only rogue paladin and warlock left. Then I'll get beat by people

To be honest when I craft a new deck I'll first play through all Computer controlled expert classes with it, as it gives me an idea as to the flow of the deck and if I'll have any glaring problems against common class cards. But for learning to play you can't beat real people.

There is an average ratio of time spent in a casino to money drained out of a person's wallet. They might as well just drain money out of my wallet directly instead of making me play table games.

I'm in the USA. I just did the Canadian trick and then went back to USA. Took about 5 seconds

It won't let me because of my balance of .14 cents, I don't know how to contact their support, and I cannot create a free account from my ipad without some stupid gift card or something, idk.

What exactly makes this card so good?

I think I need to revisit this question again, after having Leeroy end the last three games in a row (unfortunately 1 of the Leeroy's was my opponents).

What makes Leeroy so good is your opponent passes the game to you, then you get to emote well played, and you plop down Leeroy. 9 times out of 10, they hit concede before you can even blink. Hell, you could probably bluff wins out of him, just take your time if you don't have the proper buffs, I bet people still would drop out before seeing him inflated to ~20 damage lol. :)

I burned through 20 dollars on my account to make the switch- I just went to my Comixology wishlist and started buying stuff.

I think with your starting hand, the most important thing you can do is know what you are trying to accomplish with your deck and if that hand supports it. If it doesn't, throw back what doesn't and re-draw. Also helps if you know the more common decks depending on the class you're playing against.

Just an example, if you're playing against a warlock and you draw a Big Game Hunter in your starting hand, do you want to throw it back or keep it? They could be a ZooLock or a HandLock and BGH is only useful in one of those situations.

At least I think this is what you meant but hopefully someone else can explain it better.

How do you not suck at the starting game? No matter what deck, I feel like always stumbling, or maybe I'm just unlucky with draws.

Depends on your strategy.

I basically play one of two decks: An aggro pally and a miracle rogue. They have different overall strategies but the cards I keep have similarities between them.

1. Mana value....Either deck, I keep lower value cards...we're talking nothing above 3. You aren't going to keep a 6 mana card on your starting hand as you won't play it for some time.

2. Know your strategy...The pally is all about direct dmg..I start the game by unloading cheap cards, maximizing my mana each turn, and doing as much direct dmg to my opponent as I can. I wait for Divine Favour to show up and save me..

OR...

As the rogue, I do small chip dmg, but prioritize keeping the board clean until roughly turn 5 or 6...Hopefully by that time I have my opponent to roughly 20 health which is all I need to kill them with the right cards by turn 8.

So yeah...To start a game well, lower value cards and know what your overall strat is...Is it fast, slow, controlled, or delayed play????

AND..I must add...Consider what your opponent can do and how they're going to play? Can they snipe 1 life enemies from the board, like a mage??? Will they play slow, typically like a priest? Are they looking for you to load up the board w/minions then they'll unleash the hounds?

So I've started up playing again and I keep getting people that run the clock down when they lose.

It's happened 3 times in a row now and I'm not really sure what to do. It's a pretty crappy move.

I think you've hit a bad string of luck...I rarely, if ever have that happen, and it's probably not intentional...they just aren't sure of what to do next.

I like these rankings
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AifXEOqTcGcLdFVvWk1GRjVJTHJUaTVLcGViR1RRTFE&gid=20

And read this to know why those cards are good. http://www.liquidhearth.com/forum/arena-strategy/513-trumps-arena-tier-list-neutral-commons

And just keep an eye on your mana curve. Early on I just draft the best cards, but you'll also want to make sure you don't end up with too many expensive cards or too many cheap ones. You can't always just pick the highest ranked card. After about 15 cards I usually start drafting based on a curve.

First off, I have to again thank you...I read through Trump's guide and used that Arena ranking list for an Arena run, and I am now 4-2, getting 4 wins for my first time ever! (I started 3-0 and then ran into 2 people with great drafts/draws...they each played 2 legendaries, and in my draft, I don't even think I got an epic!) But seriously, those 2 sources helped immensely. Using those rankings, the deck I drafted seems to be more cohesive than any other Arena deck I have ever made.

Building decks can be tough, so don't get frustrated. My best advice to start building is, use those decks from other guides and start tweaking them with other cards that you get in packs to make them stronger. You will slowly learn what is good and what isn't.

OMG seriously people, it's not that hard...don't switch the region of your account! Just make another one...I posted a guide on how to do it here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=795311
