At some point they need to do something. Maybe a game mode where you can only use certain expansions and adventures

We've discussed things like this in past threads. I think that all Blizzard needs to do is expand the basic set. Don't put all of classic or GvG into basic, but make like a 'best of' list to put into the basic set. Stuff like Harvest Golem, Knife Juggler, maybe even a solid Legendary or two. Give older players either 100% dust refunds, or maybe some special card bling separate from golden versions. Kind of like the 'vintage' weapons in TF2.

It might be a PR loss for established players but they will HAVE to do it at some point. They have to be aware of the new player experience. It is hard enough for a new player to get into the game with 2 adventures and 3 card sets. Can you imagine in 6 months when it becomes 3 adventures and 4 cards sets? It would be overwhelming! They cannot let the card pool get out of control. The game will die a slow death if they don't.

The goal isn't to get every card though.

Also, I doubt they'll go with limited modes because they don't even want to rebalance cards for many reasons that line up with avoiding limited modes as much as possible. Devaluing card collections is a big one. They'll likely rebalance cards before removing them. And they'll release new cards to make getting into the game easier and they'll be good cards for commons and rares or like pilotted sky golem which is an epic that can substitute for cairne in a deck.

They'd rather over-nerf warsong commander on the basis of not changing the 2/3 stats which they felt was important to stay the same. I doubt they'll out right remove cards, which in a way is the opposite direction because they don't want to change cards much at all.

They will never delete cards period.

I bet you they will. Either delete them or put them into a legacy format.

The new player experience is very, very important to them. Because new players are where the money is.

played a handlock that used justicar for some reason. Barely won as dragon priest. Then played a druid that played two ancient watchers. I'm assuming he was trying to go for a silence deck but man did I feel bad for him

I struggled with arena immediately after TGT was released but I've been at 7.8 over my last 45 runs. Finally got up to 10k gold too!

Is a hunter playing a Sludge Belcher a normal thing?

Edit.: Fucking Paladins. Drawing and dropping MC on Turn 6 and then they rope. I instant concede when they drop their MC. I don't want to put up with that bullshit. You think Blizzard finally made rank matter when they introduced rewards and they print a shit card like Mysterious Challenger, which makes the deck basically 24 cards. The hate is flowing through me.

Haven't played in awhile but recently got back into it. Really sad how weak Shaman is right now.

Guess if I want to win I'm gonna need to buy some Naxrammus cards to just build my self a cheap face hunter.

I've seen it in lock 'n' load hunter and some mid-range but its not very common.

I've been getting crushed in arena lately, I've been out of it for a while so that could be the reason.

Finally made an account on heartharena though. It's kind of cool seeing their analysis of each pick especially as the draft continues . I was using it to make a paladin deck and it pushed me into aggro, which I guess is a fine strategy, but the deck is sitting at 2-2 right now.

Yup

Though that barely helps when even people like Sjow are just spamming Secredin

I think he was trying to prove a point that it is a brain dead OP deck (I have mixed feelings on that right now). I didn't watch him for more than a few minutes, but he was doing pretty well with it.

No, he was playing it because he was tilting. Everyone knows Ben Brode's son could win a game with it.

Struggling all season bouncing from 15 to 12 and back playing Handlock, Druid and Control Warrior, finally netdeck midrange secret paladin and winstreak from 15 to 10 with only one loss.

LOL!

Yesterday I played against a Handlock using Tempo Mage for my daily. The game finished by turn 4 because I managed to get two Sorcerer's Apprentice out and then double Fireball'd him.

Nah he's been playing it nonstop for a few days now because it's by far the strongest option, only occasionally switching to decks he enjoys (or would enjoy outside of this shit tier meta) for a handful of games. But yeah he does regularly comment on the deck's stupidity and sad state of the game.

Best part is though when he, playing Secredin, complains about the lack of yustice in this world when his opponent topdicks something

I'm confused? What do you mean?
He means that how long are you willing to wait until Blizzard implements this feature (removal of cards, different sets) before the bet is considered won.

You can't say "well eventually Blizzard will do it... 10+ years from now" because that's not feasible for a bet.

I think we are going to see a major card adjustment as early as the next major GvG/TGT level expansion. I think having 4 major card sets is unsustainable for the new player experience. The question is already being raised now with 3 sets. I even think Naxxramas will become free once Blizzard announces or releases the next expansion at Blizzcon.

You can mock me mercilessly if I am wrong.

I don't think it's out of the question personally. Blizzard is certainly keen on keeping the interest of the new players. I don't know how they would do it though.

I suspect we will soon see pack bundles/booster packs to help new players overcome the initial hurdle of collecting sufficient cards. Purchasable only with real money, obviously.

oh my god i'm retarded, for some reason I thought I was 2 off lethal against this hunter so instead of throwing my boom bot at his face I threw it at a minion and the explosion killed another minion, then I swung with my shit and realized.....

fuck.

hold on a damn minute.

malorne is malfurion's dad, so its a druid legend.

gromash is garrosh's father, makes sense that hes a warrior legendary.

but varian wrynn is anduin's dad, ytf is he not a priest card?

you fucked up blizzard.

A dentist can't have a son that's a programmer?

The game match making and RNG is so trolling sometimes. The first match of the day and I was playing a slightly off meta deck and I get put in a mirror match where I lose an RNG roll and the opponent wins the RNG roll on the same play. GG

My all gold casino mage deck is so cool, so fun, wish it was op and just dominated. Did pretty good in the last tavern brawl but that's not saying much.

Went back to control warrior with the big legends and lots of armor. Doing pretty good, beat some face hunters, couple pallys.

1 win from rank5 for the first time.... but lose 10 straight. How many times can I draw nothing below 4 mana until turn 5 when 2/3 of my deck is below 4 mana. Apparently 50% of games start like that when reaching rank 5!

So unbelievably fucking tired of every Paladin shitstain having on-curve Muster in arena meanwhile I haven't seen one in at least 5 runs

Haven't really been keeping up with Hearthstone as much recently but I'm starting to get excited at the prospect of new cards. Have there been any leaks or hints as to what Blizzard will be announcing at BlizzCon?

Hit 5. Done with constructed for the month. Time to fool around with control priest some more. The ladder rewards are nice and well needed, but it's hard to experiment when you've got a target to meet.

Testing out a rogue deck in casual, usually I don't bother, but finding it amusing that I've come across 3 freeze mage, 3 handlocks, a secret paladin and malygos shaman.

Edit:

4 handlocks now....I guess this is where all these decks have gone to escape the meta lol
