Hearthstone |OT5| Corrupted Deeprock Salt

Just had Mage v. Mage in the brawl. I had Neptulon and a Dread Infernal from portals, he had an angry chicken. Poor guy/girl.

Only card worth a wank in the pack was Patient Assassin. I never see anyone use it, is it a safe 100 dust?

Patient Assassin was used a lot in the taunt+charge brawl but otherwise isn't in the meta right now. Can't predict if it'll come back, though, since the meta after Standard + the expansion is impossible to predict.

True, and further to that I couldn't spend the dust as no-one knows what to craft due to Standard being around the corner.

Think I'll play it safe and keep it for now.

barely won w/ face hunter. Pack was bad except a nice 400 dust from a golden shaman epic that's a 7/8 taunt lol. Thinking about keeping it for standard then was like nah it'd still probably be bad

Golden epic packs are never bad. That's 1/4th of a legendary from the next expansion.

Jesus, Renolock matchup is pretty much a prayer that they don't have Reno for turn 6 or healbot for turn 5. Even rushing them down is a problem, with the threat of Moltens and/or shadowflame.

Is this archetype problematic or do most people see this as a fair deck? I honestly hope it's not that prevalent in the next meta.

Well it's fair in the context of decks like Secret Paladin and Combo Druid existing. I would imagine it being a problem if those decks and Freeze Mage were nerfed but with GvG and Naxx gone that by itself is already a significant nerf to all Reno decks.

Ah yea, it's losing Imp-plosion, Mal Ganis, and void caller amongst other things. Looks like it will really depend on the next expansion.

Flamewaker and Knife Juggler are two compelling arguments against ever running Patient Assassin.

I suspect Molten Giant/Mountain Giant/Sea Giant are on the short list of cards that Blizzard will have their eyes on for changes in the run-up to Standard. Molten most especially. It promotes certain type of playstyle from Warlock that is almost impossible to deal with. Especially since Shadowflame is also a classic card. Handlock (the archetype) will never go away as long as Molten Giants and Jaraxus exist in the game.

Knife Juggler is likely on the nerf list and Flamewaker will be rotated out eventually.

I would say that Tempo Mage may end up being poor in the new meta but I find it unlikely, even with Esportal and Mad Scientist being rotated out soon.

I will not entertain any talks of nerfing Jaraxxus.

And neither will Ben Brode because his top 5 cards in Hearthstone are Jaraxxus times 5.

Someone on the HS subreddit seems to have extrapolated the next expansion release date further from more esports documents and it points to an April 18th release. Seems a bit too late for my tastes, but probably worth considering. His argument makes sense, at least.

Also, I look forward to the future of Tempo Mage sans secrets/scientists. I don't think I'll miss Flamecannon that much either, I already run 1 flamecannon + 1 torch (my portals though :'( )

Fuck those portals. considering that it is mor elikely to give you a better than 2 mana card, and the fact that if you get the discount and 3 mana cards become free is horseshit.

I have no idea what's going on today, literally every draw and mulligan has been garbage today.

Like I'm actually losing to a terrible player because of these terrible fucking draws.

Man almost two more months of Secret Paladin BS on Ladder?

Really beginning to feel that they made the announcement too early despite Brode specifically saying that they aren't going to do that anymore. My guess is that they could feel the community being whipped up into a frenzy over Secret Paladin not being changed anytime soon.

Zoolock gets the fucking banana bonus in tavern brawl, proceeds to kill me with a 15/17 nerubian egg.

In the previous game I got destroyed after 20 minutes by a Leeroy + Faceless combo, because every minion had windfury.

It's so much fun when I'm just starting out and have no idea what the bonuses even are and my opponents already have some perfect netdecks for the brawl.

Renolock that curves out can ruin any deck. I've had a ton of luck with Malygos Rogue, though, because they use removal on auctioneers, emperor thaurisan and sometimes belcher. If you run van cleef he can eat up removal too. At that point you stall out until you can burst them down or you get Malygos to stick on the board depend on the situation.

Raptor Rogue and Mid-range Hunter also did pretty well.

Basically any deck that can force a Reno out before they can clear your board can do pretty well. Because you just burst them down again right after they Reno.

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
Finally won a Tavern Brawl with Mill Rogue. I did get pretty lucky though. When minions die draw and card and +2 Armor. It was truly disgusting. He almost got me too. Drew Antonidas from my Deathlord. Without that he was mega dead. He took 34 damage for +2 over lethal on turn 13 from ColdlightBran.

Then I got hate mail! He didn't have time to play my tryhard deck on his iPad. Dude should've conceded a long time ago. He even said "Sorry" like 5 seconds before I played my winning move :lol. This is gonna be fun.

man i love cocky players at the start of a brawl. I got a picked the +2 amour per turn as a warrior, and my opponent was a mage so he picks -cost on spells, and keept taunting me throughout the whole game. He kept killing my minions with spells and taunting and used 2 mirror images and thought 4 taunts would keep him safe.

Come into play my patron + inner rage followed by a cruel taskmaster and a rampage and ww. Things kinda snowballed from there. Neither one of us had taken HP hits and our armor was at like 16, and he just quits.

I find Renolock to be fair, honestly. Midrange decks do fairly well against it.

Agreed, Renolocks are very fair. Playing against them feels like a 50/50

Casino mage has been a ton of fun for me in this brawl, it synergizes amazing with the fates. Though tbh, I normally go for the armor one.

This Paladin deck, I have no idea.

Double Avenging Wrath, double Doomsayer, double Solemn Vigil, Eadric the Pure, Enter the Coliseum, Elise Starseeker.

I guess it's just some mass control Elise Paladin.

seems like you can also go with a wild pyro for some aoe clear too.

Yup, portals for everyone else? Amazing, for me? Like shit. out to get me

Also, Summoning Stone is pretty good this brawl IMO. If someone ends up picking the coin fate, you get an infinite supply of cheap tokens with it.

From a single game just now:

I'm the Portal whisperer.

Edit: That said I'm having pretty terrible luck with my dire fates selection. Whenever the opponent gets one it's Tinyfin time for me. Whenever I get one the worst I can do is give my opponent free draws.

Apathy

I like the fates, I hate the dire. I don't want to change my, even when I'm low, cause I am planning something you stupid game.

My opponent picked the swapping one, omg it's so odd and I do not like it at all. It's making the game last so long.

They don't overwrite. You get both abilities active.

In a game you can have 4 effects active at once. This makes the Brawl insanely dynamic.

This is a probably my favorite Brawl, at least top 5.

Charge+taunt is still my favorite

Dont pick the swapping one if you go second and your opponent picked armor first. Fatigue game and slow as balls

Boom Bot going face to give your opponent lethal when you have 7 minions on board has to be one of the worst RNG moments in the game.

That's in my top 5 although that one got pretty lame by the end where it became a game of chicken using OTKs with Molten Giants. Kinda like how Malygos and Alextrasza ran that 1 mana creatures Brawl.

Also this one has Charge/Taunt too as an option so you can still try to play that strat.

Warlock is so OP at this brawl, ability to manipulate life point to reach 2nd fate first can destroy lol
Fates apply to both players though so it doesn't matter who gets there first. You might help out your opponent if you get a Fate that benefits them also.

Well if the expansion does drop in mid-April I guess I won't really be pressured to spend any money since I'll probably be in the neighborhood of 4000 gold by then. That's one good thing I suppose.

Get Charge and Taunt in commanding position is so good tho, I can control the board while reach 2nd fate first with hero power or even soulfire to my hero lol

Yeah one of opponent give me windfury to give me lethal at my turn
