It makes sense though. Once you're at a point where you want 18 deck slots, you'll never use the basic decks ever again. Keep it simple. Zero sum change.

That said, the time it took to arrive at this solution is baffling.

Yup, no idea why it isn't like this. Would allow for a ton of deck slots while still being very organized.

In that gif you'd hold 81 slots yet it's nice and tidy. The giant scrollbar in collection and now the two page decks are actually way sloppier(and you can't even drag to organize decks so my class ones are haphazard unless I delete and redo them all).

The UI right now though is a little horrible with the 9 new slots added having to scroll through them. Seems like a bit of a rush job without making a UI to go around it. Although for all I know it's some sort of work around they have to do cause of mobile players.

Well I think it's possible that their backend didn't support it. Otherwise they would have created 9 deck slots in each account's memory just to hold the same preconstructed decks that everybody gets. Seems like a lot of waste unless they planned to do this from the very beginning. However they probably felt that expanding their backend was less work than rebuilding the UI.

Seeing how it took them two years to get more deck slots and they only put in 9 more it kind of frightens me because Hearthstone's programming side is probably a nightmare?

Filled up all 18 slots with 1 try-hard deck per class and 1 fun deck.

Control Warrior - Dragon Warrior
Aggro Shaman - Totem Shaman
Oil Rogue - Raptor Rogue
Murloc OTK Paladin - Dragon Paladin
Beast Hunter - Camel Hunter
Midrange Druid - Wailing Soul Druid
Reno Warlock - Demon Warlock
Tempo Mage - Casino(ish) Mage
Dragon Priest - Golden Monkey Control Priest

I wish the Google play store would update so I could play it on my phone when out. It's always annoying when one version updates and the other is lagging

I would imagine there is internal disagreement about the need for extra deck slots or their specific implementation. And when there is internal disagreement stuff like this can turn into a "nice to have" that's more trouble than it's worth to do. So it gets thrown into the backlog while more important stuff gets worked, like time sensitive tavern brawls or new cards, etc.

The only reason we are getting the extra deck slots is that Blizzard realized that wild/standard basically doubled the need for decks slots since people will want at least 9 standard decks and 9 wild decks. So they decided a slapdash implementation to double the number of slots was the way to go. They could at least get agreement on THAT.

Gonna wait until more cards are revealed before preordering. So far nothing looks that fun to me. The expansion + standard will determine if I play more constructed or just chime in to tavern brawls to complete dailies for a few months.

Yeah, if I *do* decide to preorder, it'll be really really close to launch - and only because preordering w/ amazon coins is so much cheaper than buying after the fact.

Thinking back, Legion pre order did not have anything for Hearthstone. Wondering if Liadrin is somehow going to be tied to that. I know it says it's going to be for an event, but don't think they would pass up what could be bought for actual money just for free from playing something in WoW.

Also pretty sure that if it is for something WoW related at the start, like say log in between this date and this date, they will make her purchasable later with money

I don't know that I'm particularly interested in Liadrin but I hope they make the heroes purchasable as well and not limited to just a specific promotion. That would suck.

Not sure if I should pre-order this time, I skipped on TGT and it seemed like a good choice.

It's worth it if you were planning on spending real money on it anyway.

No its today's video and he is obviously not serious when his first suggestion is a Chow that is 2 mana 3/4 that heals you for 5 that he said straight up was clearly broken.

I did laugh at Reno Jacksthun.

I mean, I don't really care that much, but I wonder if they still are planning on revamping the deck UI, but decided to go with the lazy solution since Wild sort of forces them to add more deck slots.

i ended up spending $30 on TGT packs after they released and i was unsure if i should pre-order. Probably should have just pre-ordered for the bonus 10 packs and card back. Not sure what i'm doing this time, now i have 2600 gold saved up whereas before TGT i had none.

The pre-orders are a great deal since the packs are cheaper and sometimes you will want to get a good chunk of the common and rare cards without crafting them. Plus the cardback is a nice add on

I'm fine with today patch, 18 deck slots is perfect for me since I never play that many decks since I think that realistically, you will never will be using at the same time more than 15-20 decks (And this is stretching it a lot) Now if they could include more deck slot, kudos for them, more quantity is always welcome, and 36 deck slots will be a healthy amount, but overall I can't really be angry about it.

Also, I like that now you can search golden cards.

By the way, I started reusing the hearthstone deck tracker, and I realized that now when I'm aiming a card on my hand, it appear the text legend on the right bottom corner, is this from the new patch or is a deck tracker add?

Don't worry, Kibler might still mess it up if he plays it in arena.

(he mentioned it on stream today, even though it glows, he can't see it cause of his colour blindness)

Yeah this isn't the first time he's made a video like this. I don't think he's ever serious.

I like to come up with crazy mechanics too but I think it's more compelling of you try to come up with something that isn't totally broken.

Its a new feature of the deck tracker. Its was cool for about 2 minutes, then I got annoyed by it and turned the feature off.

I didn't, but only because more than once I played him and he didn't "go off" and I got a "well played" from my opponent. :( Followed by a "That Was Folly" by me, then death... lol

There's no need to put any money into unlocking Lady Liadrin.
More details will be available in upcoming blogs on the official Hearthstone and World of Warcraft sites.
Edit: It will need to be done on the same Battle.net account that your Hearthstone account is on, though. World of Warcraft Starter Edition is free, so that should help even if your existing accounts are separate.

Apparently the Russian patch notes mentioned you just have to get to level 20 although that has since been removed.
