Hearthstone |OT9| Our raid wiped in Icecrown Citadel

I really like it to get up, go to this thread and read the discussions about the newest cards. I really like the hunter legendary. I was a big fan of secret hunter. Hell i still play it on ladder.

I got to 5 wins in arena and encountered a highlander priest with raza, lyra, shadow word death, free from amber (which gave them soggoth), and greater healing potion. Okay.

My only issue with the Hunter Legendary thats its stated offensively instead of defensively. It will likely be hard to get it to stick to the board if played turn 4. Unless Hunter gets a way to reduce a secret to 0 or 1 mana that doesn't involve Cloaked Huntress. I really like the ability to get extra Secrets in play, I just not sold it will be consistent enough to be meaningful.

Hopefully this means that Mage doesn't get any 'random' spell generators. And honestly I like this card, defensively statted minion that gives you a useful defensive spell. Like nothing OP or anything but a decent card.

Fatigue Lich King Jaina deck incoming

Play that.. play hero at 10 with mirror image

Boom you never die

Too bad Jade Drood still exist

But I suspect legit control mage will exist at some point after at next rotation

This is probably more a solid Arena card than a constructed card.

The single spell generation is meaningful especially if Blizzard makes more cards that get buffs from spells like Mana Wyrm or Flamewaker.

I'm not going to say the hunter legendary is terrible. It can easily be good with new cards, like a card that generates secrets and it's just decent on curve like hydrologist, it could be decent with support. Playing around 3-4 hunter secrets is quite hard, they're going to have big impact. It's jut not going to work if you have to put lots of secrets in your deck and pay 2 mana for each and your decks sucks basically without drawing this card. It's kinda like Lyra, without the 2/3 elementals the card wouldn't be as good.

Best candidate to use it with right now is probably Obsidian Shard. If you also put a Deadly Poison on it you can heal back 15 health across 3 turns. Not overly terrible for a class with next to no healing at its disposal but it's a bit expensive in the sense that it's costing you 3 cards to do that.

Maybe Rogue will get a new weapon in the set, who knows.

I quite like it with Obsidian Shard. Toss in Swashburglar and Undercity Hukster and you might have a decent midrange deck.

Question is would this deck be better than Miracle or Tempo.

I can already imagine playing 3 cards to set that up and having someone just eat your weapon with an ooze.

Wasting class cards on a heal that they said rogue should never get. Of course it's gonna be trash. If they wanted this to be played they would have given it +1 attack or something along side this.

i don't like this card at all. First you need a decent weapon which you can upgrade with this spell. And you are always endangeroud by weapon hard removal.

Ghastly conjurer looks good for arena, no?
You get an ok minion and a free mirror image to use later as protection. I'm not sure about the cost though.

I think it's safe to say that Iceblock is going to the hall of fame. These new cards for mage would make Iceblock more of a problem then it is now, and the functionality buys turns like Iceblock does. All the freezing, mirror image, etc.

The real question is will Auctioneer be in the hall of fame. It's what allows Jade druid to be so effective and completely counter control decks.

I think Alex, Iceblock, and Auctioneer will all likely end up in the Hall Of Fame over the next year or two. People don't seem to agree with me about Alex, but I think it limits the design space to much.

jades won't matter at all next year since they will be rotating, so it doesn't matter when auctioneer rotates either

Quest and Dragon sinergy? Seems like a cool card.

Seems pretty neat. I think it is viable enough to see play, and Mage can easily kill a 0/1 without altering their deck (Though it is slow). Another card to go into Casino Mage.

sounds a litte bit like sneeds. but you need something to kill the frozen champions. maybe a buff or a board clear.

Just ping with hero power. Slow, but does the job.

How does this have Quest synergy? It adds random minions to your hand, not spells.

Oh wow, totally missed that, for some reason i thought the quest worked with any kind of cards.
My bad!

I don't see how you would fit N'Zoth into a mage deck, but infinite value with Pyros, Syndragosa minions, Thalnos, and Shimmering Tempest.

Would be a fun deck at least.

0/1 so you have to kill them to get the cards... uh.

This expansion and card designs are more and more reminiscent of TGT to me with how everything seems a bit overcosted or bit slow/weak. This is very similar to Anub'arak/Rhonin but probably worse even.

You can discover it from historian almost every time though and stack end game value if you want. I don't know if there are enough reasons to play dragon mage though. Seems like it's more aimed at fun than being good.

It's a late game value minion a la medivh and the 2 elises. It's just not an archetype we've seen since the rotation of Reno Jackson in mage. This reveal makes the leaked DK card seem more legit as the two fit the same style of deck.

I'm a little unhappy that Mage gets exclusive access to Sindragosa, but the card is neat. At least it's not useless.

People say it's hard to kill your own 0/1 tokens, but in the control mirror your opponent is guaranteed to play a wipe sooner or later.

I try not to run Thalnos in N'Zoth decks. Sometimes the card draw can screw you over. I remember playing N'Zoth Mill Rogue once and I put Thalnos in for the extra draw, but after shadowstepping N'Zoth twice and using Gang Up on him I got a board with 4 Thalnos. It did not end well for me, haha.

Kibler is going to love this card though. A Dragon that provides late-game value in a control Mage deck? That's right in his wheelhouse.

The only end game value cards that we play in this game tend to have very immediate impact. Medivh is like the only that's fringe but it results in insane tempo on the subsequent turns or Elise is just 5/5 for 5 future investment and the pack is immediate whenever your draw or in priest it's just instant.

Two random legendary minions can easily fizzle out too, just look at all the trash from this new set alone lol. I feel if you want to play value game in mage there are far better options than this guy and in the end how many of these value card can you play.

Sindragosa is obviously a value card, but I sometimes think they make cards just for Trolden videos. Looking forward to the double deathwing or double lore walker cho

Wouldn't you most compare this to something like Rhonin? That saw mixed amounts of play.
