You're right, exclusives do matter. Tell Playstation's first party teams to hurry up and make some games already! If I had a PS5, I'd be kind of pissed at the lack of new software from PS Studios.
 
I wonder if Xbox is getting the industry standard 30% in revenue split or if Playstation was able to lower it. I honestly wouldn't be surprised.

There's a bit of overlap when it comes to competition between Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, but the console war is long since over.

Sony will port everything eventually and i can see Ghost of Yotei being released Day 1 on Xbox along with Intergalactic too.

And that's what people thought years ago when Horizon and Days gone were the only PC ports the first 2 years.

Since then, almost all SP games have been ported to PC. And GAAS games are day one. Playing catch up, Sony was pumping out ports every quarter for probably 2-3 years in a row.

So what's the likelihood that Helldivers II is gonna end up on Gamepass on day 1? Just like MLB The Show 2024?

On the real though its kind of disgusting that Microsoft has clearly worked with sony to make this announcement today, fully aware they are attempting to deflect the news from yesterday.

Disgusting stuff.

Didn't see that coming tbh. But then again, the game has been on PC since day one so it's not that wierd.

That said, Sony should still tread lightly. Not to go all Bryank75 but I'm still a bit on the fence with their whole PC initiative. They may not see the effects immediately this gen. I can see people skipping getting a PS console altogether by the time PS6 comes around and shit can really go sideways fast economically if they lose their foothold in the platform business.
 
Has to be my biggest "well, huh..." moment in awhile. Guess they don't care of it going over if they're confident Xbox really is moving out of the hardware business or are just too fucked to ever gain that momentum back.

If the future of Xbox is Xbox PC (aka Windows 11), then all of Sony's PC games will be playable on Xbox branded devices anyway. This will already happen at the end of the year with the release of the ROG Xbox Ally.
 
Probably some bullshit calculus on Sony's part to get maximum exposure for the movie that is being planned.


This is a dumb move by Sony as Xbox is already on the way out lol.

Wtf. I saw the headline and thought it was cool Xbox players get to play one of my fav games in years. Wasn't expecting so much hate.
 
Maybe the deal Sony and Arrowhead from the beginning was an Xbox port was always planned. Isnt Arrowhead hardcore on being independent and not wanting to be pushed around and bought out?

So maybe Arrowhead said they'll do H2 for PS/PC, but only if they get the option to do an Xbox port if they feel like it. And Sony said ya. But like any timed deal, keep it hush hush until a month before you launch it on Xbox.
 
formula of their going first release xbox edition of helldivers then Movie release then Sony "tell" arrowhead that next Helldivers 3 will be timed exclusive to make more players to go ps5 or ps6 later
 
The cost of porting this is probably relatively low given the similarities in architecture between xbox and PS5...

However, I honestly doubt it will sell anywhere near enough to get back those low porting costs.

Unless I am a big AAA game, I would only put a game on Xbox if MS was funding the entire porting costs.

There's no question MS planned this around this announcement they aren't dumb when it comes to carefully planned announcements.
 
They're gonna sell a few million copies and make Arrowhead & Sony a lot of money.
What next, Last of Us? I wouldn't bet against it happening.
