You guys really don't understand how business works, do you?Funny timing. I thought Sony would kick them while they're down.

AAA gaming overall is fucked and takes too long. With that in the context, I think they are doing pretty good. You're right, exclusives do matter. Tell Playstation's first party teams to hurry up and make some games already! If I had a PS5, I'd be kind of pissed at the lack of new software from PS Studios.
Maybe the deal Sony and Arrowhead from the beginning was an Xbox port was always planned. Isnt Arrowhead hardcore on being independent and not wanting to be pushed around and bought out?
So maybe Arrowhead said they'll do H2 for PS/PC, but only if they get the option to do an Xbox port if they feel like it. And Sony said ya. But like any timed deal, keep it hush hush until a month before you launch it on Xbox.

I'll consider it. Main reason I didn't get it on PS is that PS is horrible.
Glad I waited.
@GAF, did you say this?
"Sony, give us Bloodborne on PC/PS5 already"
![]()
Lmao the stream is already over. That was it, no new content drop, nothing.
Considering the current situation Sony should be giving away absolutely nothing. Do you think Nintendo would? Hell, do you even think Xbox would if roles were reversed?
They've fucked up this gen so bad that they need to go to Xbox for some crumbs.

Damn. People on Icon Era are livid. LMAO

Haha, I might go and look.
"Its just one gaaaaame"
Gonna be wild seeing that Playstation publishing logo on xbox. Like it was for xbox on ps.
Nintendo makes good products that people want. Sony, well...Nintendo understands business.....don't you think?
This is the new "it was all Lego insisting."Nah....Arrowhead was in no position to make demands here. This is all Sony. I think Sony executives needed a cash injection so they can say live service is doing better overall for them than it really is.
Live service should launch on all platforms anyhow imo, larger the player pool the betterNah....Arrowhead was in no position to make demands here. This is all Sony. I think Sony executives needed a cash injection so they can say live service is doing better overall for them than it really is.
A proper negotiation if I ever saw one.![]()
How about this - I'll stop "whining" when you stop posting.
Deal?

If it was because of that, why release it like 2 years too late? It's a service title akin of minecraft, I see no biggie whatsoever.
Sony throws xbox a bone and this is the reaction.
Never in my life have I seen a bone thrown with such timing and precision.Sony throws xbox a bone and this is the reaction.
No. They're not saying that. They're saying how this is the end of PS.Haha, I might go and look.

Best deal in gamingDeal?
They're getting the Xbox people on PSN to transition if anything lol. It's either that or have the Xbox fans run to PC and miss out on grabbing another console.Funny timing. I thought Sony would kick them while they're down.
Why would this get them to "transition"?They're getting the Xbox people on PSN to transition if anything lol. It's either that or have the Xbox fans run to PC and miss out on grabbing another console.
Gamepass?Best deal in gaming
Nobody deserves that, not even the few xbox fans still left.should have ported concord to xbox consoles
One of the angry Icon Era guys.Welp there it is.
I knew something was off the moment questions about an Xbox version started floating around. Actually, that was after Phil Spencer went crying in an interview about the game not being on his dying console, because they can't take the consequences of real competition. And of course, modern SIE are for some mysterious reason so beholden to enable a self-defeatist Xbox, that they capitulate and bring one of their biggest games over anyway because....is it blackmail? Or because "line must go up" with shareholders and investors? Which one is it this time?
I'd say keep an eye on Astro Bot getting a Steam announcement soon; why else would interviewers have fielded the question to a member of the dev team shortly after the PS5 release? Probably because it's already been planned out. People want to go on about how it'd be impossible to port the game to anything other than PlayStation, but I don't think the suits at SIE care about that complicating things. They'll find a way, I'm just waiting to see if the port's announced at Gamescon or TGS, and if there's a Switch 2 version announced too. I mean they still insist PC and Switch aren't competition to them.
But that's weird, because so many people keep telling me Xbox is seen as a direct competitor to SIE. So, why would SIE port their biggest GAAS hit to their direct competitor? Oh it's because that whole talk about viewing Xbox as a competitor is bullcrap, just marketing jargon and a narrative some fans have come up with online to argue against this exact thing happening.
And again, here's my biggest peeve with SIE on this and something I'll at least give Microsoft credit for: they treat the whole idea of multiplatform as some "will they, won't they" teen romance show, when I say just be upfront and let me as a customer know where I can expect that game from Day 1. That way, I as a customer can make the best informed decision for my wallet. Don't trick me into thinking the game's going to be exclusive and then 6-12 months later say "Got'cha bitch!". Don't try seducing me with FOMO by pretending the game's going to be exclusive for the long haul, when you're bringing it to PC a year later.
Supporting games is one thing but I think being well-informed as a customer is just as important. Ironically, SIE are being the worst at this. Microsoft's clear cut: I know everything is very likely going to be Day 1 on an Xbox, PlayStation, or PC, so as a customer it's easy to decide where I'm going to get that game. They even announced the PS5 port of Indiana Jones before the Xbox one was even released, I'm sure that saved a lot of Xbox + PS owners from feeling a need to buy it on Xbox due to uncertainty over the PS5 version existing or when it'd release. SIE feel like they want to have their cake and eat it too; they want to pretend to be like Nintendo when it comes to exclusivity, but also want to chase other market as eagerly (or increasingly eagerly) as Microsoft.
What they're going to have to realize, is you can't have it both ways. Pick a lane. Pick one or the other. And just owe up to it. I already know DS2 is going to Steam in six months, because that's what the first game did. And I think others know this too, which might explain why DS2's sales (at least physical) are underperforming compared to the first: a lot of people are just waiting for the PC version. SIE are training customers to expect this more and more, so what we're seeing happen with DS2, could end up happening with Ghosts of Yotei, and with Intergalatic. That they're putting other games like Marvel Tokon Day 1 on PC also contributes to that.
Now, going forward people will have even more reason to think Marvel Tokon gets an Xbox port. Or that it deserves an Xbox version. I'm sure Phil Spencer will go crying on another podcast about how Marvel Tokon not being on Xbox is unfair and "doesn't help anyone"; then we'll go through the whole song & dance again and end up with SIE announcing the Xbox version through Bandai Namco publishing it there six months after the PS5 & PC versions launch. Why should I, as someone who can see clear patterns, expect anything else? Why should anyone expect anything else?
Yeah I'll admit this is a ramble, but I'm also just tired of the bait-and-switch. Don't spend all this time arguing against the idea of HD2 not going to Xbox, just to then sneak out an announcement the day after Microsoft basically starts chopping Xbox into pieces. Because now why should I not expect other GAAS to get ported? Why should I not expect Astro Bot to get ported to PC and Switch 2? Some people at SIE spent too much time saying words that turn out to not mean anything, and it's been getting increasingly frustrating.
I just hope none of that gets in the way of Mark Cerny working some magic with the PS6, but we'll see. After all, he can only do what his bosses allow him to do :/
Think I'm gonna dip out from talking about this any further for a bit. Just hope more people see the patterns here, and the larger ramifications. Take that all into account and see where I'm coming from on this![]()
"Games as a service are launched on various platforms, so the key to success lies in how to attract new players and increase the user base. That's why it's especially important to maintain the initial momentum of the launch and reach a wide audience in the live service segment."
"Single-player games, on the other hand, are an important...
I'm pretty sure I've said those exact words.

Totally agree nothing is off the tableI don't have a problem with more folks getting access to a game. Good for Xbox fans. But this doesn't make sense to me from the perspective of a platform holder. This is an bean counter move. Live service isn't doing as well as they had said it would so this is the remedy. And are we really going to say it will stop here? They've opened the third party Pandora's Box now. I fully believe Sony is on the third party path now.

At the end of the day, Sony wants to make some more money from H2, they already got a PC port, and the game probably isnt suited for Switch or a mobile version. So for extra $$$, Xbox is the next logical choice. More sales and keep the online gamer pool bigger.Welp there it is.
