I totally forgot this started today. I'm more curious than excited about the show, I'll give it at least a few episodes.

Netflix doesn't even seem to be so sure about this show, there's not even a large banner at the top (on PS3) showing the show. It's only under New Releases. House of Cards got a large spot at the top its first weekend.

Watching first episode,
the murder was really tame.

Yikes this is awful so far. Acting and dialogue is quite terrible.

I had a banner for it, maybe they're only putting the banner for people who have watched simile genres.

Loaded up Netflix on the 360 and was taken to a tab all about the show. It has a more info tab that has trailers, plot and cast info.

Will give this a watch over the next few days.

Hmmmm that's strange for me then. I didn't have anything. And I watched AHS so you'd think that would be enough for them to try and sell this to me.

On episode 2, Famke is deliciously hammy and the best thing so far.

This show's world and mythology is basically non-existent.
People just talk and ask about werewolves like they are common beings. Also I can't help but laughing my ass off at people assuming a character is a werewolf due to being extremely hairy supposedly, when he doesn't even have much hair at all.

They keep calling the werewolf character hairy. I had more body hair when I was 13. It's like in The Room where they keep calling the wife character beautiful, when she was average as shit.

I think they imply he is the werewolf due to his family being gypsies.

The show is okay. The show's mythos are weak since the viewer jumps being forced to understand that the supernatural
is accepted by the town without much explanation.
It's fine for now since I'm willing to try and play catch up with the show since it hits the ground running with no delays to explain the world they live in.

The piss yellow filter and some terrible accents ruined the first episode somewhat. Still want to watch a few more before giving up.

Right, but they still mention repeatedly at first how
he has a lot of body hair.. Which he doesn't.

Anyway, I'm on episode 7 now, and nothing has really happened yet.. Nor is anything making sense.

I love the new format of TV shows on Netflix and Amazon. Reminds me of British shows, where they have a limited run, tell their story, and don't overstay their welcome. I hope this is the future of the format.

Netflix's original content strategy is puzzling. I understand what they're trying to do, but it isn't working. House of Cards is their Mad Men. Hemlock Grove is their True Blood. Arrested Development is their Curb/Veep. But they're never going to get ahead by copying the groundwork HBO has laid for them.

Half-watched the first episode tonight while I did some work. It was okay. Not good enough to get me excited but not bad enough for me to ditch it so soon. I'll give it another episode or two to get going.

The acting really is a mixed bag. It ranges from passable to extremely bad. Some of the side characters are just awful and the main characters aren't a whole lot better. Famke was chewing the scenery something awful. She seems bored with the whole things and I'm sure they brought her in just to have a recognizable face.

Oh, not denying your claim -- merely, adding more "evidence."

I'm on episode 3 and it's slow show. Of the actors, the noteworthy ones have been: Bill Skarsgård, Famke Janssen (when she is with lesser-experienced actors, she presents an aura of overacting), Aaron Douglas and Kandyse McClure (both of Battlestar fame).

I disagree. Arrested Development stands alone and isn't being used in a model that is business-wise a comparative to HBO or AMC. House of Cards was well-received by critics and was a success -- it was a water-cooler conversation piece in February.

So saw the first episode and had to turn it off when it was about 6 minutes left. So bloody awkward it was unbelievable. Every single scene felt "off" for some reason :/

Watched the first episode and found myself a little bored by it to be honest. I may give it another couple episodes, but I am not sure.

Watched the first ep and just starting the second.. and I definitely get the vibe that it's intentionally bad in a very Twin Peaks way. It doesn't hit the notes the way Twin Peaks does but it seems pretty obvious that TP is a major influence on it's execution.

just saw the pilot. will keep watching but this show is kinda hilarious.

jean grey got this weird ass accent. at the start i thought she was joking with her son...and then minutes later the accent continues and I was like "wtf? this is a real thing?!!"

i enjoyed it due to how bizarre everything was. bad acting throughout though.

edit: going off of amazingly shot series like hannibal and vikings the bad cinematography in here is just noticeable right off the bat. instead of eli roth's ass they should have gotten somebody else to direct the pilot.

Watching episode one right now and I kind of like it. It's interesting as a swede to see Bill Skarsgård in a big role. And holy fuck at Famke's accent. It's so shit.

Why is everyone throwing up in this show? I'm on episode 5 and I feel like at least one character vomits per episode.

And the show's theme sounds so much like the Dexter end credit music, it is distracting.

So I am not going crazy thinking this as well...

Got to episode 6. I find it hard to take anything that is going on seriously or even make sense of some of it. Also, the wigs really bug me. They all look so fake. Couldn't they buy some realistic looking ones? Some characters feel like they're wearing the same one with a different haircut too. Ugh.

The sex scenes are annoying. If you're going to bother showing several scenes, at least show some nudity (preferably male). This isn't wimpy broadcast or catv.

This definitely feels like a weird mash-up and knock off of other shows, its doesn't excel in any area.

On episode 5, I don't have a strong desire to keep watching

one day you will post for greatness i am sure.

Oop, make that my third.

My other OTs have been for good things :3

I need to pay for a Netflix subscription and a workaround to access Netflix in my country, seriously contemplating not doing it now given the reception.

but then again I really like cheesy things >_> so maybe I will enjoy it regardless. Especially for Famke.

After watching E1 I feel I need to reset my expectations for this. I was expecting it to be closer to True Blood than to Twin Peaks.

Debatable.

2 episodes left. Ugh, can't wait to be done.
