Heroes of the Storm |OT| Pretty sure that Abathur is AFK

Anyone got tips on playing Abathur? Where do you usually stick yourself during the game? What's the best use for the toxic nests? What sort of talents do you pick?

Just my personal experience,

Go where the specialist is so your locust can push with him or where is one heroe in lane to get exp and help your ally. DONT stay on base.

Toxic nests are awful for damage but good for vision where you could tell where Nova is hiding, put them on the fog/brush zones and sometimes you can also use them to crawl to that area with Z.

My Skill tree is about locust, hate being a bot buff

1.-Survival Instints
4.-Balliststopores
7.- Mule or Networked caparade
10.- Monstruosity
13.-Bombard Straing
17.-Locust brood
20.-Locust Nests

Not really bot buff

1.-Regenerative or Glands
4.-Adrenal Overload (Illidan players love this one)
7.-Needlespine (because F you I am gonna KS)
10.- Monstruosity or Ultimate evolution
13.- Soma
17.- Spikes (Illidan players get orgasms with this one)
20.- Hivemind

Goku hero concept:

Trait: Power Up - All Goku's basic abilities cause Goku to gain 1 ability power per second for 25 seconds.

Q: Power Up - Goku powers up
W: Power Up - Goku powers up some more
E: Power Up - Goku is still powering up
Heroic 1: Spirit Bomb - Goku begins channeling a sphere of energy that grows in size every second for 25 seconds and upon damaging an enemy hero ends the game.
Heroic 2: Commercial Break - Find out what happens next time on...... DRAGON BALL Z!

Eternal conflict is easily the least I've enjoyed this game since early alpha. The new map makes pre-redesign mines seem perfectly balanced. Easily the worst snowball map in the game right now if you don't have a premade group.

I have also yet to figure out a viable strategy for playing Abathur on the map with a pug. Locust build doesn't scale that great late game, but pushing a lane hard seems to be your only choice. The map is actually not a team fight map, it's a seige map where the objective is sitting around mid wasting 3 plus minutes harassing and poking the other team. Seriously considering trying out an all-mine talent build out of desperation.

I still think it feels like trying to pvp in vanilla WoW in Tarren Mill/Southshore while trying to fight guards.

The game in general is really snowbally since the Sylvanas patch when they changed the EXP formulas and extended the pre-10 time while shortening the post-ten time. Kills from level 4-9 give a lot more exp relative to previously. This results in a LOT more games where a team has ults for a very long time prior to their opponents. This is particularly an issue on Tomb, where they decreased minion EXP, which causes major snowballing issues.

The underdog bonus for kills on the enemy team is definitely not high enough right now to account for the level gap- when you get a pickoff on a team that's ahead, you should be rewarded for it in a way you're not for other environmental EXP. I don't think enough people realized just how big the changes were- but they now incentivize ganking to what I think is a very unhealthy degree. A team wipe early in mines shouldn't be getting your opponent a full level ahead.

In Battlefield, the early siege bros just aren't good enough, they go down pretty easy. You konw that. Your opponents? Probably not. The best way to abuse this is simple: gank them over and over and use that to boost your level lead. Kill them when they try to kill your immortal, and do it a LOT. And post-13ish, when they're good? You wipe them, then take your own, instead of focusing on racking up your EXP.

I actually think the exact opposite right now- it's a PVP map with very limited siege capability due to how damn big it is.

Yeah, I guess basically the early game feels like mid is just a delay tactic while you try to eat a lane back and get a level advantage, and then late game you have to focus primarily on not dying and killing the immortal or you're guaranteed to be stuck down 2 people with an extremely high health siege giant on your core. Oh, and three levels down, don't forget that part.

It feels and looks great as far as the environment.

Gameplay wise it's a clusterfuck right now because what works for one group doesn't seem to be working for others. We've tried defend only ours, attack only theirs, leave 1 in each lane, etc. We get a win or two from each and then back to losing.

There's just so many different approaches going on right now that it's like the Wild West. In that scenario whoever has the fastest draw wins (aka the best team fight).

The interesting thing is, they have the components for a team that would absolutely take stealthed apart. Tyrande takes Battle momentum at 7 and Shadowstalk and 10, and then uses that combined with Tyrael's Judgement to remove stealth heroes from the game at the start of fights. One of the pro teams does it when they face nova and it's horrendously effective. But no-one ever takes Shadowstalk...

Symbiote build for sure. The map is all about teamfights happening in either immortals location so winning those is important while you keep aba in the top/bot smoke to soak exp. It's a great map for aba, one of the best actually.

I've tried symbiote build with two mine talents here and there. The one where mines do tick damage and the one that increases mine charges and reduces cooldown. You give up attack speed talent but the spammed mines are actually very annoying for the opposing team.

Locust builds are dead. Even in maps like cursed it doesn't seem to work anymore. I've taken keeps alone with symbiote build on that map but it isn't enough when you lose a lategame teamfight because your symbiote is so weak.

Hit 40k gold and finally bought my first hero, #1 waifu Johanna! I'm definitely still learning, but I'm welcome to tips/suggestions (especially early game). I main crusader in D3 (and paladin in D2) so it was a no brainer.

So did damage as a whole take a big nerf? I knew some things were being changed up in the last patch but since then it seems like despite how much I'm doing the numbers sure don't line up as they once did. Granted there is an exemption with a character or two but damage across the board appears way less than it use to be.

How many of these changes (in the latest patch) was implemented in stealth without an official patch note? Is there a place where it's all documented?

I agree when you get your Demon or Angel is not really worth it, it goes down pretty fast, feels like the game just pauses when you try to defeat the enemy inmortal

but does it feel epic?

When the angel and demon starts clashing in the middle map looks amazing like a WoW raid boss moment and it have some Diablo 3 sounds. (And Dekard Cain)

The immortal does insane dps if you keep it alive. It has very little hp which is why you need to push with it, can't leave it alone like mines golem.

The inmortal hits pretty fast to compensate his health I think, Did the inmortal gets more damage when you get them later ? Because the third time my team got it was doing insane damage compared to the first inmortal

Yeah, they scale.

I like full split pushing early since you can get a tower out of it. Though with the strat I've been using, you tend to lose the early immortals while keeping an EXP lead.

Well Murky is a blast. He needs that level 10/13 though.

No idea, though Blizzard is known for stealth changes. Even if they are a big deal.

As for the angels, depends on the team, been on some where they've taken down a gate and badly wounded another. Been on others where he goes down with a gate barely touched to mid damage.

But the reason I came to post was due to the match I just had. For the first half plus we had one player who kept disconnecting/reconnecting and you know how that can screw up things. Then we had another player who was clearly a bot. We were getting our asses handed to us, the three of us who could do something pretty much did everything we could and slowly began to stem the loses. The disconnecting player eventually started to stick around and the bot was always pushing so they had to deal with her as well.

Our gates were falling but now it was slowing, better yet we began to get theirs. We started to get mercs, a boss and siege units. I'm sure they had all but thought they had it at one point, I know I certainly believed they did. But then little by little no matter how much they pushed we were killing them, they were getting to our core but not enough to really get rid of the shields. We fought like dogs, if they wanted us dead we were going to go down fighting hard.

I'm pretty sure they started to fall apart due to thinking they had it because we were killing them more and more and getting tribute. We got the curse on them and began to push. Even the bot was actually doing some smart things at last if not pushing into their interior diverting them at times so the rest of us could get stuff like mercs/boss/tribute or destroy their gates.

One point I began to believe we might actually win. I asked in chat if they believed in miracles.

We knew what we had to do. And you know what.

We freaking won.

Un frakking believable.

It's the kind of game that makes it so worth playing. Incredible rush from it all.

My game is messed up. It kept playing treasure goblin music all the way through the match, then left click got crazy and it was pinging on click all over the map for everything then the worst happened... I got hit with reconnect and on return all of my custom defined keys were reset to default... what a nightmare match it was, still managed a win somehow.

She's still great to me. She doesn't heal as great as she does before, but then again, she was pretty OP. Now her skills have changed up quite a bit and I find playing with her to be fun. Now she seems to be more about sustain and mitigating damage with her shields, though her trait healing is still helpful. I go with this Pixie Dust-focused build:

1: Hyper Shift
4: Manic Pixie or Peekabo! (if the enemy team has Zeratul and Nova)
7: Phase Shield
10: Blink Heal
13: Shield Dust
16: Bouncy Dust
20: Storm Shield

BW just isn't good in a sustained teamfight. If you're using BW, you need to be making picks/ganks and evaporating people quickly - a Tyrael/Stitches based comp would be where she'd shine.

I totally didn't realize that your immortals remaining HP when you kill the enemies turns into shield for it.

I love those types of games, it's the quintessential moba experience that's hard to get anywhere else. I've been on the other side of it enough to know that a good team-fight or two can trigger the "tilt factor" on the other team as they start to second-guess everything and continually screw up.

She's still viable, but like kirblar said it's different. THH put her in the 3rd or 4th spot (Rehgar is back at the top <3) and Zuna has her at tier 3 on his new tier list. You're negating damage as much as you are healing now with poly + dust abilities.

I like full split pushing early since you can get a tower out of it. Though with the strat I've been using, you tend to lose the early immortals while keeping an EXP lead.

Split pushing with the early Immortal seems to be where it's at from my point of view. Your immortal (if it has any shield whatsoever) will take the wall and begin work on the fort. Your team can do the same amount of work or more in the opposite lane and get all that extra EXP as well.

It's the kind of game that makes it so worth playing. Incredible rush from it all.

Always happens like this for me. I'm like man...today sucks or this week sucks or what have you...I'm about fed up with this--wait, wait? WE WON?! WE WON THAT?! Awww yisss.

Something like this is what I am thinking/keep reading about as well though I change up the 20 talents depending on what's going on. I do miss my Gust and lower CD on Blink Heal re-use though. I also wanna look into the Greater Poly with Rewind. 5 seconds of removal is nice.

Does Leoric go up for sale this week?

Looked up what the deals were but saw nothing about him.

Butcher just went up. Hero releases are supposed to be every 3 weeks (though occasionally 4) so the earliest we should see him is 21st or 28th.

Murky saved our ass in BoE, everybody was cheering for him on chat, it was ridiculous. They had anub, muardin, Illidan, Li Li and Malf. I was playing Li Li and we had Tyrande, Butcher and Falstad. Needless to say we got rekt in team fights as they refused to die and I got stun charged by 4 players every time, we were defending ours and Murky just went over theirs again and again, we won every immortal. I think I'm going to get him finally.

Well we just experienced the bug of all bugs.

Queued as 5 going all random. Won a game.

Queued as 5 going all random again...it started the countdown to go to map load screen and bam. Back to the Ready screen. We could change our heroes but couldn't see each other and couldn't ready up again. We'll just restart and try to rejoin that game we said.

We were wrong.

We restarted and were greeted with a Rejoin screen. Clicked it. It greyed out...35 minutes later, still sitting on the screen with the Rejoin button. Nothing has happened. No attempt to connect. We can't get out of the screen.

Awesome.

so what ult do you get on nova since the patch

Still the same as always for most instances AFAIK. Precision Strike.

Oh my god, QM matchmaking is horrendous. Why does it seem like it always just slaps a completely new player into the party? This Muradin just sort of clicked around the map randomly for about ten minutes and then AFK'd after he died five times. I check his profile afterwards and it's his 5th game, ever.

It's not fair to him, and it's not fair to the rest of the team. Shit needs to be fixed.
