If the last match you played is the one that got stitches to 10, he was how as 9 on hotslogs till you play a match with him at 10.
(Remember that hotslogs match history shows the level of the hero when you played that match, not the current level of the hero).

maybe thats what a Leoric was trying to do earlier but I guess the abathur didnt know about it, or the game was such a blowout and they didnt try, there was a Leoric in our base all the time

Did this game have a drastic population drop? It takes much longer to find games and the opposition feels far more difficult.

Matchmaker has been changed to take into account your number of games as well, so it takes longer to find you a match but you should get a more equal level of play.
IT, Garden, and Mines are likely the first 3 to be rotated out. Dragon Shire #4. (I love it, but holy crap do a lot of people not get it.)
I haven't seen this in action but I don't understand, How does the other team lose 5v3?
If two people are AFK for 10 minutes then the game is probably pretty close to being over anyway right?
what a strange match. hour Hammer was completely not willing to do anything we said, just went off on her own the whole game even tho we were being polite to a certain point. it was basicaly a 4v5 the whole game, in the end we lost with 1% on their core (we raced cores and they had a boss)

It's because Hammer can solo towers and forts in siege mode. It brings out a type of player who thinks that because they can do that, they have to do that - and that's the only thing they do.
It's like people who play Nova. They want to roam the map getting sweet leet gank kills from the number 1 player hero killer, and don't understand that unless she's REALLY doing work you'll lose from all the lost team fights.

even the games im losing with Butcher feel close and I feel its not my fault we lost. Really into him right now. The trek to lvl 10 is a slodge tho
edit: this tassadar vs a actual healer shit is ridiculous and NEEDS fixing. just make him a specialist ffs. I actually prefer not to get a support if its tass in QM now because of the new matchmaking of support vs support. I know I know, QM doesnt matter

just picked up the starter pack last weeek and im finally getting the hang of this. just bought valla, pretty good. also i noticed i get like 20 or 30 gold for matches, and the characters are like 7K. Is this one of those games where you basicly have to buy the heroes or lose a month of straight grinding just to unlock 1 hero?

I'm sure once you hit level player level 40, it might feel like more of a grind but 1-40 you get a lot of gold. Between the player levels, hero levels, daily quests, treasure goblin, and playing games..you should be earning a good amount! More than enough to buy a few heroes in no time.
I bought Thrall @10k and Leoric @15k and currently have 12k saved up. Could have bought a lot more of the 2, 4 or 7k heroes but I had the starter pack plus the early access bundle so I already had a small mix of the cheaper heroes.
It's still not great though.
If I'm being honest, I think it's fine. I haven't had any issues feeling restricted, especially when starting out.
$5 starter pack gets you 3 heroes. Then the 7 different free heroes a week. That right there gave me a ton of play time and gold leveling each one to 5 (for the gold bonus) while also letting me test and learn each hero a bit.
By like the first week, doing that and playing normally and increasing my player level and daily quests I had more than enough gold for a couple of cheaper heroes or one of the expensive ones. Hell I think I had enough for a cheap hero that first day since the first few player levels give you gold every other couple levels.
For being a F2P game, I think the model is pretty great. How this compares to LoL or DotA2 I don't know though since I don't play those, but I'm just speaking for myself when I say that I haven't had an issue at all with feeling like I'm restricted with HotS' model.
Leoric kills the keeps quite fast and abathur isn't tied to him while he is dead. You want one hero killing leoric all the time because he doesn't really die to the keep alone fast enough. You get a few levels from killing him and they get three keeps very early on. Not saying the strat is op or anything but blizz will surely fix it just because it's such a non-interactive strat.
LoL is slightly better, and all Dota 2 characters are free.
Smite has an option to pay $30 US and you get every god current and future.
I do like that HotS lets you try any hero before you buy it though.

You want at least two of every type of hero (warrior, support, etc), so you will always have someone who you can use for the Daily Quests + level up their hero level at the same time. Daily Quests are your key source of gold (+ the 500 gold bonus you get for leveling a character to lv5, but that gold peters out after a while), far more than the piddling gold you earn by doing matches.
But definitely "try before you buy" either through the free rotation or by using the "try" feature. Some characters I was *sure* was going to love I ended up just liking OK, and some characters I was pretty sure weren't going to be my thing I ended up loving.

Zagara is definitely a blast. With her creep tumors, it feels like a meta game planting them around in advantageous areas.
What's his respawn timer like by lvl 16? 20-30seconds? Surely he can't take a keep faster then the entire other team. It makes sense if the non leoric team is trying to split up and deal it in two different locations. But if an abathur team isn't even sticking together as 4 then punish them hard, own the map, win the game.
Played a ton of Zagara lately with our group just prior to moving with great success (no HOTS for me til at least Thursday looks like). She's in a good spot.
She's very fun. As Breezy said, the creep laying is like its own meta game and it provides you such an advantage in movement speed and vision (not counting the health regen most people take).
She has great damage from level one and while she doesn't scale that great, she's still decently strong late too. The way her damage works makes her a pretty good anti-tank hero for getting them out of the front line early with her hydralisks et al. Would recommend.
the real answer is murky, though. Once you Marky (nazeepo plz) the world is yours.

Zagara is a classy lady. I have my highest win rate with her (~60%).
Zagara is massive fun.
Plus her best attack does great AOE splash damage. People run from it. You can take down towers and gates with it and wipe out minions pretty good too if you upgrade it.
Plus trapping the enemy and having your team wait for them to pop for slaughter is always a blast.
